Don't worry, we aren't going to bother with your silly convention. We have better things to do. By the way, keep calling Rishell unelectable, it will make her victory all the sweeter.

The Democrats in the 50th are sadly unorganized and ineffective. Not something that I am in a position to do anything about. Until that changes, why shouldn't we throw ourselves behind the "lesser of two evils?" It's pragmatic. Ultimately, I care more about the 50th race than who is running against Allen.

If a democrat votes in a republican convention, can they then vote in the democrat primary?

Actually folks, keep in mind that some members of the Colgan family ARE actually Republicans, though not openly given Chuck's position in the Democratic Party UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT. Something to think about.

How can you confirm that something has not happened?

Regardless, if Colgan is saying this isn't happening then I'll be glad to look at the possibility that is the case. I would far rather find that it's not the case. Let's see if the community at large can weigh in on this and from that determine what's really going on.

What's your confirmation, Greg? Because I have confirmed that these Colgan calls are not taking place. Weimer would be crazy to organize/allow this. So until I see proof, I don't believe it.

Maureen, I think its because they know how really liberal Miller will be. If Miller is out there saying he is just as conservative as Weimer (he has no record to base it on), then why are the moderates and democrats so quick to line up behind him?

must be something to that one.

It is my belief that Richell is a place holder for the dem's. I have been told that they are looking to put someone else up.

Whether this actually happen's we have to wait and see. But if Colgan is actually calling around in support of Carol they must not have anyone else.

This also tells me that the dem's don't think she is electable.

I just can't get past feeling like Rishell (sp) is a place holder candidate until the Dems get their act together.

I believe that this (50th) race could have a big impact, in terms of momentum, on next year's races if the Dems take the seat. With her as a candidate it doesn't seem as though they are making a solid attempt to take it away. Mind you, I'm not complaining...;)

Oh, back on topic, when we have 13% turnout for a Council election, I don't think we (R's) have a lot to fear from Dems packing a convention. People are too lazy to vote in a general let alone a convention where they might have to spend an hour before voting.

"Having trashed one campaign, BVBL starts in on a second."

I find it fascinating how "Chappy’s Chaps" insist that Chapman has been trashed, when Chapman has been given amble invitation and opportunity to present facts in his defense time and time again. BVBL has documented everything he has said about Chapman...not offering it as opinion, but only offering his opinion on the facts.

It must become obvious to even the most adoring follower at some point that Chapman's position is indefensible. These recent threats of legal action, as an "anonymous" commenter at NLS suggested in the May 25th thread “Some Virginia History” ("Even if the blogs win, a lot of small-time bloggers will have to pay some real big money to defend themselves. How many Virginia bloggers can afford to hire a real lawyer?"), is likely just a frivolous lawsuit intended to intimidate blogs in general, and BVBL specifically. Aside from the fact that the courts frown upon such things nowadays, anybody ever heard of countersuits? Why take the route of intimidation if you have truth, and evidence, on your side?

I wonder if Chapman realizes that he is rapidly inciting a vast network of people who might just decide that it is in their best interests to see to it that this boy disappears into well-deserved obscurity, preferably not in this hemisphere. If he thought that he was under a microscope before...

Having trashed one campaign, BVBL starts in on a second. You should at least put a Miller graphic on your webpage.
