RIP: CHAPMAN CAMPAIGN

By Greg L | 30 May 2006 | 50th HOD District | 2 Comments

I’ve received word that the entire Chapman campaign team has disbanded. Bob Fitzsimmonds will be supporting Jackson Miller. Welcome aboard, Bob!

I believe that Steve Chapman tried to do something good for the citizens of Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park and provide a voice for conservative issues as he had earlier done with considerable skill in fighting against a gambling initiative in Manassas Park, and in his run against Harry Parrish. I was a Chapman supporter in his race against Harry Parrish, as were many other conservatives who were angry with Harry over his support for tax increases and some of his relatively moderate positions on other conservative hot-button issues.

Steve’s ‘06 campaign highlighted the types of missteps and poor decisions that started to show up the ‘05 campaign. In the end, a fatal but not uncharacteristic miscue ended his run for the republican nomination. The 50th HOD race is now far less entertaining, and gratefully so. Amateur hour is over.

Like you, I was a Chapman supporter during the the primary. like you, as revelations surrounding Chapman came out I believe that we should thank the Lord that Chapman didn’t win the primary, and that the blogs exposed Chapman for what he is. Good Riddence to Bad Rubbish.
