RISHELL’S ALTERED STATE

Jeanette “Moonfruit” Rishell has now put out a press release “challenging” Republican nominee Jackson Miller to a series of debates. I’ve been hearing from the Miller campaign that they’ve been eager to debate Jeanette Rishell for several weeks now, so with both campaigns now committed to the idea of having at least one debate things should move along pretty quickly. Of course there’s going to be a discussion regarding all the details, and it’s unknown at this point how that will play out.
I thought this latest press release was pretty funny. First, Jeanette Rishell apparently is sending out a letter “challenging” Miller to a debate after they have already accepted a debate request. Next, her campaign manager makes a ridiculous assertion that Jackson Miller doesn’t understand the district after serving it as a police officer for years. And then to top it all off, as they always do at the end of their press releases, they describe the composition of the 50th District and get it wrong.
The 50th House district includes Manassas City, Manassas Park, and 5 precincts in Prince William County (Parkside, Sinclair, Stonewall, Plantation and Westgate).
Here’s an update for this campaign: Plantation precinct was absorbed into Stonewall and Westgate, but you’re still welcome to set up outside of Antioch on election day and hand out sample ballots to anyone who comes by to vote. (Details here). What a joke!
