Rishell non-sequiturs

Here’s some interesting quotes from Jeanette “Moonfruit” Rishell’s recently updated issues page on her campaign website:
I’ll get legislation passed that criminalizes the operation of illegal boarding houses.
Um, if they’re “illegal boarding houses”, aren’t they already “criminalized”, by definition? And if they’re overcrowded according to ordinances enacted by, say, the Manassas City Council, aren’t they already “ciminalized”? And I seem to recall that Ms. Rishell wasn’t all that hot on enforcing these overcrowding statues before.
In Richmond I will fight to hold the line on property taxes…
I seem to recall that property taxes are levied by city and county governments, so “holding the line on property taxes” in Richmond is a ridiculous statement.
I will fight for an Adequate Public Facilities ordinance to give local communities the power to slow growth until those needed improvements are made.
Um, am I missing something, or is it not true that Manassas City enacts ordinances and the House of Delegates votes on laws.
And this Democratic nomiee for the Virginia House of Delegates is supposedly qualified to be a legislator? Can’t we just send Rishell back to the Sorenson Candidate Training Program so she can learn how state government actually works before she runs for office?

The bad thing about all of these issue’s are, the average voter will not delve into any of them. They read the paper, maybe they look at her website, and it sounds good, unless you know whats really going on.
I can’t wait for the debates to begin! Hopefully she will be called on her stance about the marriage and illegal alien issues. But here again, only a small percentage show up for those also.
Local governments don’t have APF ordinance authority now. That was part of Kaine’s big land use / transportation planning plan. Rishell is on target with that remark… but only that one.
