Sorry, We Took You At Your Word

Howling Latina has an important observation this evening which complains about what Vincent over at Too Conservative wrote regarding a recent press release from the Jeanette Rishell campaign. Her complaint is that Vincent actually believed that a press release he received from the campaign was an actual press release. Well, how silly of him. You can’t believe that Jeanette Rishell’s campaign press releases are actually accurate representations of the policies and positions of Jeanette Rishell!

I mean, really. In that press release Jeanette Rishell displays that she counts to four in an alternative, socially responsible way, preferring the sequence 1, 1, 2, 3 to identify the components of her policy position. And it talks about her previously abandoned position that it’s a good idea to hold landlords responsible for instances when tenants violate their lease, only this time she thinks they should be subject to felony prosecution. Nah, she obviously meant to say misdemeanor. Vincent, you should be more careful. It’s not what Jeanette Rishell says, it’s what she means that’s important, and your telepathic abilities are quite obviously faulty.

I know how hard this is. I had the impression that she thought there were five precincts from Prince William County in the 50th district, when what she really meant to say is that theree are only four. That day, my telepathy thingamajiggy was on the fritz, so I know what this is like.

Thanks to Howling Latina for pointing out so eloquently our obvious shortcomings. Next time after receiving a press release we should call Matt Harrison to ensure that every part of the press release is an accurate portrayal of Jeanette Rishell’s policy positions when our telepathy thingamajiggy isn’t functioning properly.

Unfortunately, that seems to happen with alarming regularity. How disconcerting.

UPDATE: Apparently the Gainesville Times suffered from the same problem that Vincent and myself have fallen victim to.  They heard “felony” as well.
