Mayor Waldron’s Endorsement of Jackson Miller

Today the Manassas Journal-Messenger published a letter to the editor from Manassas Mayor Douglas Waldron. The mayor is one of the most gracious and even-handed politicians I have ever met, and an endorsement like this should be carefully considered by all the residents of the 50th District.
On Nov. 7, we have the opportunity to send a thoughtful, hard-working and principled leader to the General Assembly in Richmond to work for the 50th District — Jackson Miller. I firmly believe that Jackson is the right choice to represent our community interests.
As a colleague in city government, I know Jackson has the skills, character and integrity to be an effective advocate for the issues that most concern our residents. As a devoted husband and father and an engaged member of our community, Jackson is the right choice to continue to represent our area with high standards and experience. Furtheremore, the policies Jackson Miller advocates are those that have the biggest impact on our families and businesses.
Jackson is the only candidate to take a tough stand against illegal immigration, to offer real solutions to ease traffic congestion and the only candidate to be trusted with keeping taxes low and controlling government spending. I encourage you to join me in voting for Jackson Miller for the House of Delegates. We must elect Jackson Miller.

The mayor is a Republican. A Republican endorsing a Republican is not a big deal.
The Mayor is extremely well respected in this area, with good reason. His letter, like Hal Parrish’s letter, will be very helpful to Jackson Miller, just as Sen. Colgan’s letter supporting Jeanette Rishell …. wait, Sen. Colgan didn’t write a letter supporting Jeanette Rishell. How odd.
