Kate Resigns

As expected, Kate Obenshain Griffin has stepped down as chairman of the RPV.
Mason Conservative has one of the better posts coming from the perspective of someone who really was hoping this would happen, with plenty of links to speculation about who will replace her. Shaun Kenney comes at it from the other side, saying those who are throwing rocks at kate just don’t get it. And of course Not Larry Sabato weighs in on this as well.
My take on this is that RPV is deeply troubled and needs an extensive overhaul. It needs to figure out what it’s purpose is, and ensure that everything it does is consistent with that purpose. From the trenches, it has looked like RPV doesn’t know what it’s supposed to be and has left local committees and candidates to sink or swim on their own with little support.
I have high hopes there will be a lot of positive changes coming soon.
