Kudos to Greg L. The Skeptic is so misinformed as to be lazy at best and borderline irresponsible at worst. A two minute internet search reveals that Occoquan’s town attorney is someone named Martin Crim of the firm of Smith & Davenport, and it appears he has been the town attorney for at least several years. Skeptic, please, BVBL is a good blog because it provides useful information; do 30 seconds of your own research before clogging it up with stuff like this.

If he’s doing this, it’s not showing up in the press releases or the early news articles which try to introduce him to the public. As you, I’m a skeptic of a claim like this, as otherwise it would have been at the top of every article mentioning his name.

If they’re mentioning that he’s been the president of a condo association, I can’t imaging them failing to mention this.

I believe Jeff Dion serves or has served as legal council for the Town of Occoquan until very recently? Though his services may be offered by a donation in kind or other of which I cannot confirm but I do believe he retains a seat on the Council platform at their meetings. Greg can you confirm this?

Jeff is an older version of Mike May by 9 years but he has much less charisma and lacks the sincerity that May offers. Mike also has a strong history in Occoquan from serving as Aid to Congressman Davis.

The PWCRC convention for BOCS Chairman was actually reviewed for compliance with the party plan and approved by RPV. In this case there was no review by DPVA and I’ve heard rumors that Vic Bras figured it didn’t matter if he broke the rules as no one was likely to sue over the issue.

I think there’s a big qualitative difference here.

I think it’s a reasonable conclusion given what we’ve seen from Vic Bras this year, and particularly so when he’s willing to violate party rules in order to rush forward a caucus for a special election that hasn’t even had it’s date set yet. Short timeframes, high financial barriers to entry, and his typical behavior of pushing his own candidates behind the scenes definitely suggest he’s engineering a leftward shift in the PWCDC.

I wonder how Jenkins, Barg, Colgan and Ebert feel about Jeff Dion. I suspect they’re not pleased at all with this selection, and from what I know about them they’ll have good reason to feel this way. Bras wants to take the party in one direction, and it’s certainly not the same direction that the current elected Democrats would appear to want.

As usual, without any basis in facts, you assert that somehow this nomination was orchestrated for Jeff Dion. Of course, a short while ago you were sure it was orchastrated for Earnie Porta. And, of course, naturally you are sure that either Mike May — robot controlled by developer indebted Tom Davis — or John Gray, with his own fact checking problems and highly opportunistic approach to politics — will beat Jeff. Please, remain over confident and unbothered by the facts, it only weakens your side. As with George Allen, pride goeth before the fall.
