Bolling's political capital has gone down in the last year--he was utterly irrelevant during the General Assembly session and didn't stand up to the high-taxers in the Senate and has not been very helpful to get Republicans elected-- the general consensus among folks I talk to is that he's only in it for himself. McDonnell's been leading the charge on the marriage amdt., has traversed the state helping other Republicans and stood by Allen throughout. His capital has gone up. I agree that McDonnell is still everyone's favorite nice guy, but he's also taking the lead--not Bolling. I disagree with your assessment on Bolling and McDonnell.
