Washington Post Coverage

By Greg L | 11 February 2007 | Illegal Aliens | 8 Comments

The Washington Post has picked up on the story of Prince William County and Manassas residents starting a local grassroots organization to combat illegal immigration, and even managed to spell my name right. One thing they managed to not get right was a statement from BOCS Chairman Corey Stewart, who doesn’t want to make legal immigrants uncomfortable but has no such problem with illegal aliens feeling uncomfortable and feeling the consequences of their unlawful behavior.

That an article appeared in the Washington Post comes as no surprise, as their reporters have called me several times over the past two weeks and we’ve spent a fair amount of time on the phone. Their first call to me was within two hours of me posting my first article on the minutemen possibly coming to Manassas, and it seems that they’re very engaged in stories on this subject. The Manassas Journal-Messenger also seems interested on this. It should be interesting to see if an article on combating illegal immigration makes it to the press in that paper before their long-awaited coverage on corruption and malfeasance in Manassas Park ever sees the light of day.

We did have our first steering group meeting last evening, and it was well attended. We heard from a number of different organizations involved in grassroots action on this issue, learned a lot from their experience, and from that will develop a much more refined plan for building an effective organization. I had originally thought of moving very quickly and trying to establish a strong public presence quickly, but based on the experience of other local organizations a more deliberate approach is clearly more workable. There’s a lot to consider when building an organization that focuses on this controversial topic, and the input we’ve gotten from experienced activists will surely prove invaluable.

If you’re interested in participating in the development of an organization to combat illegal immigration in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park, let me know. There’s no shortage of important things to do, and the more folks who become involved, the more that can be accomplished.

WAKE UP PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY / MANASSAS CITY / MANASSAS PARK

We had a very well represented citizenry show up for the first meeting of a local effort to utilize the resources of the Minuteman Project http://www.minutemanproject.com

The call to concerned citizens is out. It is time to stand up and protect what we have left. With no action, our children and theirs will pay in a big way. Our community is being trashed; our neighborhoods are losing value everyday. Our school system and public resources are being over burdened. We are being, and will be overtaxed to pay for this. The issue is not immigration, the issue is illegal activity allowed right here in our home. Help save Virginia. Contact Greg and get involved. Get involved today……

    You have everything to lose!

Heres one more reason that we should crack down on illegal aliens. This happened in Herndon, Fairfax and Arlington.

I don’t understand why ICE hasn’t stepped foot in the Manassas area. Those guys would have a field day in this area. Everyone always hears about Arlington and Herndon but never Manassas. It’s like this area is a free zone or something??

REPORT: BANK OF AMERICA’S NEW CREDIT CARD TARGETS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

BANK OF AMERICA is issuing credit cards to ILLEGAL ALIENS.
    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,251672,00.html?sPage=fnc.specialsections/immigration

    ‘Illegal’ mortgages?
FrederickNewsPost.Com, today ran a story about the issuing of MD driver’s licenses and also the facilitating of government-sponsored mortgages to ILLEGAL ALIENS.
    http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/opinion/display_editorial.htm?StoryID=56704

America is controlled by the banking system. America’s banks have welcomed the illegals for some time; if you want to see for yourself, visit the local bank branch of your choice. After you have waded through the sea of non-English speaking clients, ask if you need to produce a social security number to open an account. If you appear to be an American, you will probably be told (as I was) that you do need to have a ssn, if you question this you will learn that in fact you do not need a ssn to bank in our community! The US banks are opening accounts, issuing credit cards and mortgages, and financing businesses for illegal immigrants, and all at the same time that hard working Americans are losing their jobs and homes as a result of illegal immigration. How can we deal with this American catastrophe?

A friend of mine who emigrated from South America some thirty years ago told me this well kept secret. He and his family came to the USA legally, they worked through the system to get where they are and they are more upset about what is going on than most born Americans I know.

When will Americans realize that this problem will only get worse by itself?

Herndon has had this problem for many years. It wasn’t until citizens stood up and said enough is enough that things began to change for them.
Until Manassas citizens demand change we will see no response from our electorate.
Tell your public officials what you think.
We have an election year coming, it is sooner than some of our officials realize!
Campaign for your favorite candidate. Vote your conscience. Make a difference.

If someone knows the names of the construction companies that hire these illegals and they were reported, maybe we would see them leave here as they did in the cities that the Swift company were raided in.

Just go to the 7-11 on Coverstone Ave. across from the Racetrack gas station and tale pictures of the various trucks parking there and picking up laborers. A paving company and various landscape companies are usually there when I pass by on my way to work in the morning.

Thanks. When I get a chance I will and then I will report those companies to ICE and let every one I know to boycott those businesses.
