Manassas And The ACLU To Make A Deal?
By Greg L | 12 February 2007 | Manassas City | 2 Comments
The Manassas Journal-Messenger reports that some sort of settlement between the City of Manassas and Howard Daniel may be finalized today, and an announcement may be forthcoming as early as this evening.
Howard Daniel earlier applied for a Special Use Permit to operate a massage therapy business from his house, which was denied. Charges of racism and bigotry soon followed as we learned that Howard Daniel is a homosexual, and the public debate went rapidly downhill from there. The ACLU has since become involved, and now it appears that they and the City Council may have worked out a deal.

Deals with the ACLU are Faustian at best.
The Deal will most likely include a hefty “donation” to the ACLU, and some sort of promise on the part of the City to increase diversity and sensitivity of their employees. For once I would love for someone to give the finger to the aclu and force it to spend their money.
