Potts Retires!
By Greg L | 22 February 2007 | Virginia Senate | 6 Comments
Not Larry Sabato is reporting that Russ Potts may announce his retirement today. If this is true, the first step in burning down the Senate is complete, but we have a lot more work to do before we start celebrating.
UPDATE: Manassas Journal-Messenger reporter Lillian Kafka confirms that Potts announced his retirement on the Senate floor today. Watch the MJM website for updates.
UPDATE 2: Potts said this during his announcment:
I was fortunate enough to be a part of the REAL Republican renaissance, of a Republican Party that was a party of ideas, which is not the case today. The definition of a quote real Republican has been altered so much that we would barely recognize what a Reagan or Eisenhower Republican looks like. I wear that banner proudly. And though we are a vanishing breed, there are still a few of us left who believe in governing from the middle.
Reagan “governed from the middle”? I’d say this kook is about as much of an authority on Ronald Reagan as Barbara Streisand is an authority on wise investing. Good riddance.

He announced his retirement during a floor speech today.
Thanks a bunch for the update!
What, I shouldn’t consult Babs for stock tips anymore? Damn, I had better check my 401K to see how my stocks are doing.
As far a Russ “crack” Potts goes, I won’t shed a tear at his passing. The man who ran against his party’s candidate for Governor as an independent has no credibility when it comes to saying who is and who ain’t a Republican. That honor belongs to the voters. He has to retire, because he knows he’d never get reelected.
MUCHACHOS con MUCHACHAS,
Good ridence to bad BASURA(garbage). Potts was “puerco”. Now citizens of my new country need to vote out Senadors STOLLE,SASLAW,MARSH,QUAYLE, HOWELL, LUCAS. REYNOLDS, PULLER,RERRAS and BLEVINS. These Senadors vote against Virginia POLICIA to help immigrarciones to help catch illegal aliens.(See Senor Greg Post ,Below “STATEWIDE 287(g) BILL KILLED BY SENATE”) These Senadors no care about problemas in Manassas and North Virginia where illegals run free, pay no taxes and cost citizens mucho pesos.
Beware when The Moon Shines Bright!!!

I don’t know much about Potts, but it seems he is a sore looser, and was in the wrong party all along.
It sure would be nice to go back to Pubs vs. Dems again, and not pubs - rinos vs. Dems. at least on taxes. I can understand other issues, but smaller govt. and lower taxes, is the core principles of the Party…
