MJM Updates On Rack & Roll
By Greg L | 2 March 2007 | Rack & Roll Scandal | 5 Comments
The Manassas Journal-Messenger has an article today about the cease and desist letter I recieved from the City of Manassas Park, which also covers recent legal developments in the Rack & Roll scandal. It’s an interesting read for those who might be somewhat amused that a newspaper can bring itself to mention the name of a blog.

I think you should keep a ticker of all of the suits that people are threating to bring against you. It’s interesting that people have filed suit or are considering doing so as a result of your posts.
Bob:
What exactly are you trying to say?
Yea Bob…what are you trying to say? So Greg’s response should be, “OOOOhhh…somebody threatened a suit? I must give up my 1st Amendment rights….so some guy named ‘Bob” (who pushes papers from one end of his desk to the other all day for the City of Manassas Park as his pathetic excuse for a job) feels better.”
When pigs fly Bob…when pigs fly.
I think what Bob is trying to say is that the response to my efforts is often not debate, nor information which counters what I’ve presented, but thinly supported complaints backed by threats of litigation. Someday perhaps folks will figure out that these threats don’t impress me all that much and have a terrible tendency to backfire and simply bring a lot of bad press to those leveling the threats.
So don’t beat up too much on Bob. I think his point is valid.
Greg,
Keep up the good work. Keep your spirits high. I wouldn’t be contributing one iota of my commentary and time (which is quite valuable to an old turd) if I thought for one moment you weren’t out to try and improve transparency in our local government.
Best regards,
The Old Town Observer
