The Terrorist Vs. The Homosexual
By Greg L | 8 March 2007 | 51st HOD District | 26 Comments

“The Terrorist versus The Homosexual” might possibly be the story of the 51st District. I’ve been told today that Jeff Dion intends to run for the House of Delegates in the 51st District, and that local Democrats intend to do everything they can to help Faisal Gill make it to the general election where voters would have to choose between a someone who left his wife and family in order to pursue a homosexual lifestyle, and a Muslim activist who lobbied on behalf of an organization while it was run by a now-convicted terrorist.
In a matchup like that, I’m pretty sure the homosexual would win.
I’ve no word so far on whether the House homosexual caucus of Bob Brink, Adam Ebbin, Kristen Amundson and Mark Sickles are attempting to grow their number by recruiting Jeff Dion as a candidate, but this strange and disturbing scenario has definitely energized Democrats who now see an opening in the Prince William County delegation where none has existed in years. Many local Republicans have been groaning about a possibility like this and have been praying that the fourteen point thumping that Jeff Dion got in his race against Mike May might convince him to hang up his political aspirations and find some convenient closet in which to remove himself. But political realities eventually cannot be ignored, and with the departure of James Walkinshaw to help sabotage Gerry Connoly, someone was bound to figure out that Dion would in fact be competitive if Democrats could find a way to improve Faisal Gill’s chances in a convention.
This is going to be one hell of a campaign. If Julie Lucas doesn’t remove the likelihood for a truly historic level of hysteria by winning the convention, I can see folks walking around with burkas offering twinkies and shouting at unshaven guys wearing dresses, with both camps armed with home-made signs decrying the coming apocalypse. It would be a triumph of the absurd in Prince William County politics.
The 51st District straw poll is showing Jule Lucas at 70%, Faisal Gill at 17%, and a generic Democrat at 13%. Now that Dion is an option, it should be interesting to see how it shifts. Now I’d like to see what readers might think of a Gill/Dion matchup:
And here’s the poll for the overall race:

You really are a disgusting human being.
Can you imagine what the mailers would look like? Wow!
Silly boy. Men who wear dresses most certainly DO shave…usually the legs too. You really should retake that Gay101 course you must have failed. And it’s Queer these days, not Homosexual. Vote for the Queer. Or I guess in Jeff’s case, Vote for Daddy!! You really make my day Brucie.
Not disgusting at all. The truly disgusting condition WOULD BE if we had ONLY a candidate with aberrant behavior running for the 51st District seat. Fortunately, we aren’t.
Only time will tell if our voting populace will be accepting of such behavior…and the first test comes in June.
Does anyone, seriously, actually think Gill can beat Lucas in a primary? I mean, it would be one thing if they were both outsiders, but Lucas has a record of service and of winning elections. It would strike me odd if PWC Republicans turned their back on one of their own electeds - and its not like Lucas is some flaming RINO, either. And people have to know she would dominate Jeff Dion in an election.
But someone tell me exactly how Gill could win this nomination over such a qualified candidate like Julie Lucas?
Hey, so it’s “Brucie” now….that’s soooooooo cute!!
:)
I voted for Dion above, but I’ve got to say that don’t know that it’s really fair to label Gill as “the terrorist”. (And THAT might be something that could legitimately get you in legal hot water.)
Oh, and to some commenters, don’t think for a second that Lucas hasn’t already been labeled a RINO by some of the more reactionary members of the local party. And it’s the reactionary wing that controls the party.
I happen to think that Dion’s candidacy is great. It means that if the dhimmis who support Gill nominate Gill then the next HOD-51 delegate will be a gay Democrat!
In view of the fact that some (not all) persons who profess to oppose homosexuality are in fact gay themselves, I wonder if that is the goal of some (not all) of Gill’s supporters. Namely, to secure the victory in November of Dion, who is gay like themselves but is open about it.
Why else would Gill’s supporters insist on nominating someone with a terrorist-lobbying past who cannot win? Gill’s nomination will put another gay in the HOD, and that is what some (not all) of Gill’s supporters want.
Greg, remember that JM would be happy if Dion won the election. That’s the bed you are lying in now.
And in the annals of things I might want to sue a blogger for, I think calling me a terrorist would be VERY HIGH on the list.
In fact, I think that you would be hard-pressed to find people to support your “freedom” to call people terrorists without penalty, without proof that they are actually terrorists.
Of course, not all people are honest or principled, so you might get some support.
On a less-partisan note, couldn’t you find ANY pictures of Dion without his kids in them if you were going to trash him like that? I know he’s running for office, but you of all people should be overly sensitive to not using kids in photoshopped pictures.
Charles:
You should know that trashing Jeff Dion must happen even if his kids are hurt. Greg could care less about them. Not only is calling Gill a terrorist off base, equating being a terrorist with being gay ought, even in the narrow minded universe you and BVBL live in. Terrorists go to jail and are executed. Is that what you want to do to gay people as well. Just asking. There is just not telling where the contorted logical that previals on this web site might lead someone.
Folks have been ruminating about a race like this using the “terrorist vs. homosexual” tagline for months now. It’s not like I invented it, and I do not believe anyone has claimed that Faisal Gill actually is a terrorist. I certainly have not.
It’s more of a funny nickname for him that’s come into vogue rather than anything with descriptive meaning. You gotta admit you’ve heard this for quite some time now, and it is pretty funny.
“”"Greg, remember that JM would be happy if Dion won the election. That’s the bed you are lying in now.”"”
And Dion WILL win the election if Gill gets the nomination. That is the bed that Gill supporters are laying in now.
The question is why Gill supporters want a known, practiciing homosexual like Dion to win. Because if Gill is nominated then Dion will win.
I have suggested that perhaps some (not most) Gill supporters are closeted homosexuals who would secretly be pleased if one of their number, Dion, wins. Like that preacher in Colorado, these Sodomites pretend to oppose homosexuality while they secretly practice it.
So in order to help their fellow homosexual Dion win these closet cases (who only represent a minority of Gill supporters but could be significant) want to nominate the unelectable lobbyist-for-a-terrorist Faisal Gill to run against Dion. That way the practicing homosexual Dion wins the general.
Charles, why do you want a practicing homosexual like Jeff Dion to win the election in November? Because that is what will happen if Gill gets the Republican nomination. Dion will win.
“And Dion WILL win the election if Gill gets the nomination. That is the bed that Gill supporters are laying in now.”
So JM, who do you want for Delegate? Lucas, Gill or Dion? I know you don’t want Gill. You have made that clear, and I am with you. Now say it’s Dion and Lucas? Who will you campaing for?
And Charles, please don’t use “annals” and Dion in the same post, as someone might misread it and think you are referring to Dion’s playground. Also, I think Greg L. might have grounds for a suit against you. You said he is in bed with Jonathan Mark. You are implying that Greg is gay. Greg should sue you.
Ridiculous isn’t it? Sensitive little mamby-pamby Charles, who so often cries about libel and slander and lawsuits. You, Chapman and Gill are part of the reason we have turned into a nation of wimps. EWWWWW! I don’t like what you said. I will sue you.
Wimps!
“”"So JM, who do you want for Delegate? Lucas, Gill or Dion? I know you don’t want Gill. You have made that clear, and I am with you. Now say it’s Dion and Lucas? Who will you campaing for?”"”
It would be important for Julie to defeat Dion because otherwise the Gill people would say that Gill should run next time.
I would campaign for Julie against Dion if she thought I was not too negative. She might conclude that she runs a positive campaign and negative people like me hurt her more than they help her.
I volunteered for Lisa Marie Cheney (R, VA-8) in 2004 and donated money to Lisa’s campaign as well. It is on record at the FEC, I believe. So a Julie vs. Dion campaign would not be the first recent Republican candidate I volunteered for.
Greg, you have some mighty strange daydreams. So which is it, are you going to walk around in a burka offering twinkles and shouting at unshaven guys wearing dresses or are you going to be one of those unshaven guys wearing a dress. You don’t happen to have plans to both do you? I guess that would achieve some sort of balance.
Seriously, if you keep putting out this pathetic junk, you are going to make a laughingstock of yourself. The images you are creating for us first took their form in your well fertilized brain, and sooner or latter somebody beside me is going to notice.
Charles, there is a point where Greg may deserve our sympathy rather than our disgust. Perhaps he has already reached it. Do you suppose it is likely that Greg’s mental issues are more serious than any anxiety he is causing Dion’s children?
Unfortunately, there is not much we can do about it. Unless Greg suffers a serious breakdown, I am afraid he will remain free to continue with his farce. The irony is that he cannot admit to himself he is hurting himself more than anyone else. As you have said, Greg is not a bad fellow. It is a shame he seems unable to straighten himself out.
Greg, when your post title is “The Terrorist vs the Homosexual”, and you say the race in the 51st could well be between the terrorist and the homosexual, and you post a picture of Gill saying “Jihad”, it’s going to be hard to argue that you didn’t call Gill a terrorist.
Does ignoring the evidence cover you against charges that you knew the truth when a lawsuit is filed? I don’t know.
And just what evidence do you believe I have ignored that outweighs the evidence I have presented and supposedly demonstrates a deliberate attempt on my part to misrepresent the truth? Is Faisal Gill’s apparent physical readiness not reasonably in violation of Navy Height, Weight and Fitness requirements? Has Faisal not served in a senior position in an organization that was at the time lead by someone who was later proven to be engaging in activities in support of terrorism? Has Faisal not used his Naval uniform in photo shoots to be used for campaign promotional materials in violation of NAVPERS 15665I? Is he a senior partner in a law firm where both of his partners have connections with organizations which have supported terrorism?
And again, have you been employed by the Faisal Gill campaign to provide campaign services by posting comments on this website which defend him? This is the third time I’ve asked, and you keep ducking the question.
It’s an absurd question, but I answered it in another of your threads:
Greg, I am most certainly not paid by anybody here. I don’t even know who I am supporting for this race, and might not choose between the two candidates. They aren’t in my district, so I won’t be at the convention.
My sole reason for posting is because I see you using unfair attacks against a fellow republican. If you were calling Lucas a terrorist, or saying she broke the law, or was fat, I would be defending her against your slanders.
However, since you support Lucas and she isn’t part of the lawsuit against you, I don’t imagine you will be making ANY comments about her appearance, her military service, or any other negative thing about her.
I believe if you look at my inspection of the Mike Messier campaign and remember the pre-lawsuit Steve Chapman campaign coverage, you’ll see I will consistently cover campaigns of Republican primary candidates who I believe are terrible, as well as Democrats who I believe are terrible candidates. If I were personally biased, I’d be giving Faisal Gill a pass in hopes it would result in some degree of accommodation in my legal entanglements with Steve Chapman. Instead I choose to provide the same coverage on him without regard to how it will make my life easier or more difficult.
Saying Faisal Gill is fat is not unfair, by the way. It’s a pretty accurate observation, and is only relevant because he has a duty and obligation to maintain a degree of physical readiness as an officer in the Navy which he is failing to honor. It’s not only relevant and appropriate to look at how he meets his obligations when he’s running for office, but since he’s made being a current Naval officer such a central part of his campaign strategy, his record as an officer is absolutely fair territory. It’s utterly incomprehensible that you can believe that on one hand it’s acceptable for him to wear a naval uniform when he poses for campaign photos in defiance of NAVPERS regulations, but believe his record as a naval officer is somehow off-limits when it doesn’t reflect well on him. Your spin here in Faisal’s behalf is utterly ridiculous. And as for “slander”, it’s not slander if it’s the truth.
The Navy requires its officers to be fit for a reason. It would not be unheard of for a naval officer to be reassigned from his desk job to actually serve at sea (it happens.) Although I do understand that several years ago a Secretary of the Navy said that ships have to be in proper condition from port to starboard. He then got a lot of letters from naval officers serving at the Pentagon asking what those were.
There is aslo some question whether in his current state Gill could even fit into a ship’s bunk. Since Gill chooses to make his reserve naval service the cornerstone of his campaign the rotund former terrorists’ lobbyist’s readiness to serve is relevant.
Is Julie Lucas in the military? I fail to see the comparison Charles makes. Gill is a horrible candidate. End of story.
“Gill is a horrible candidate. End of story.”
And Charles is the most annoying, horrible, insipid spokesman/defender a candidate could have. No wonder his blog is terrible, and his editorial articles in the MJM noting more than irrelevant fish-wrap. Oh, he’s a grown man and he plays with toy trains. End of Story.
I believe it would be beneficial if people knew all of the circumstances about Jeff Dion and his marriage before they come to the conclusion that Jeff “left his wife and family to lead a homosexual lifestyle.” Jeff was probably trying to live up to society’s expectations to marry when he married his wife like all men. However, Jeff may have felt that he could not be an adequate husband to his wife due to his attractions to men after several years of marriage. Jeff’s wife may have understood the situation and was sympathetic to her husband.
If Jeff had stayed in the marriage and was attracted to men and not to his wife and women in general, would that have been a better solution for his wife and children? Not too many women want to stay in a relationship if they learn that their husband is gay.
In fact, both Jeff Dion and Faisal Gill have had improper relationships. The difference appears to be:
Jeff Dion: consorts with men.
Faisal Gill: consorts with men who fund suicide bombings and are serving 23-year prison sentences for money-laundering.
Jeff Dion: partnering with VA Partisans, which is seeking full implementation of civil rights for homosexuals.
Faisal Gill: partnering with Asim Ghafoor, who is seeking full implementation of sharia law in the United States.
Jeff Dion: No longer able to fit into society’s expectations of what a man should be.
Faisal Gill: No longer able to fit into his uniform.
So you can see why, for about two-thirds of BVBL readers, Faisal’s relationships are even worse than Jeff’s.
LI, I don’t know what you mean by “comparison” as it relates to Julie being in the military. I was saying that my purpose here was to counter false/personal negative attacks, and that I would do the same if he was attacking Julie the same way he is attacking Faisal.
He’s not, nor would I anticipate he would be able to use the “military picture” attack against her — but that wasn’t the point, the point was that I would defend her against any false attacks he might use against her.
I brought it up because Greg suggested I might be a paid volunteer for the Gill campaign, and I wanted it to be clear that my responses are not about Gill, but about the false attacks.
I don’t know if Faisal doesn’t meet the requirements for his position as a Navy Reservist. And if he didn’t, it wouldn’t be a violation — if he failed a weigh-in, he would simply be put on a 6-month plan to get back into proper weight. I don’t know if the Navy reserve is running a program like that right now — but it’s something handled in the chain of command, not by bloggers trying to trash a political candidate.
But again, if you think there’s a problem, write a letter to his commander and report him. Last time someone did that, he was cleared of all charges, but you still bring them up anyway.
