Herndon Talks About 287(g)

By Greg L | 13 March 2007 | Fairfax County, Illegal Aliens | 2 Comments

I got word today that the Herndon Town Council is going to have a public hearing on their participation in the 287(g) Program this evening, and it looks like a great opportunity to see folks from organizations like The National Council of La Raza come and talk about how dangerous and wrong it is to actually enforce the law. I’m going to try to attend and cover this meeting.

If you’re interested in coming, it’s at 7PM at the Herndon Municipal Center at 777 Lynn Street. It should be quite an evening.

UPDATE: After a marathon town council meeting, a very strong Memorandum of Agreement with ICE was adopted unanimously, much to the consternation of a varied assortment of illegal alien apologists.  I’ll have more on this tomorrow.

Greg and myself attended and spoke at the public hearing last night. The 287G MOA passed 6-0. The fireworks exploded after the meeting! I’ll let Greg speak to that one. We now need to get Manassas, MP, and Pr. William to do the same!

Thanks to both Maureen and Greg for attending another civic meeting that will benefit all of us here in Manassas soon. Hoping OUR own city council will unanimously agree to stand up and speak for the citizens of Manassas.
