Kopko To Sit Tight?

Riley is reporting that Tom Kopko will make an announcement tomorrow not that he will challenge Marty Nohe for Coles Supervisor, but stay put as PWCRC Chairman. A lot of people will probably be relieved if this happens.

So he does have some sense. Methinks it is less his concern for the party, and more strategic in nature. If he were to run now, he would be summarily thrashed on the blogs, and we all know that the blogs do have an impact.
Let me say this: I do think that Kopko can run, and he can win, IF he waits for the right set of circumstances to develop. This isn’t his time. Not yet, but it will come. Let’s just see how savvy he is. He is in a good postion to shape events to favor him. To run now would be disasterous. However, if he can bide his time, he can be in a position to be the best candidate, with a united PWCGOP behind him, and in doing so win. I think he was looking at the mess the dems are dealing with, and thinking it was a chance to move on it. He didn’t anticipate the early reaction from the blogs. However, should a chessgame develop, and a seat become open, he can better his chances of success.
Public service requires personal sacrifice for candidates, elected officials and their families. Tom should be applauded for his willingness to offer change to Coles residents. Whatever he decides, his heart will be in it!
Tom wouldn’t challenge Marty to satisfy his own ego, or because Stewart told him to run, but because like many constituents in Coles he is ready for a change for controlled growth, and efficient government. If Tom backs off this race, it will be because he has been convinced to take a leap of faith that when the re-zoning freeze ends on January 1st, 2008 Marty will put the restraints on residential development.
Kopko never left PWCRC as Chairman, the Committee should give him a standing ovation for his willingness to take action to uphold our Conservative Republican values. It’s not ego, it is pride, integrity and leadership.
Furthermore, accountability is a good thing, and if this posting is true I will back Tom in holding Marty accountable for his voting record on the BOCS. Marty listened to my concerns over the 2007 budget and said he would take it into consideration. He voted for it anyway, and is now tasked with correcting the budget’s shortfall.
Tom has my full support, and I hope he will can count on yours, too.
Tom has the opportunity to expand our party’s reach. He needs to reach out to the entire party including moderates. Then he can win! Marty has conservative and moderate supporters and they are very loyal ro him. He is generally conservative on social issues.
Well, it is quite disappointing that Marty, I mean Mitch, over at TooConservative is unable to be a team player and respond with humble appreciation.
This election year we need to work together to make sure ALL Republican’s get elected and if Tom did run for Coles it would have been huge loss to PWCRC and all other Republican candidates.
As a Coles resident, I believe my interests would have been better represented by Kokpo but opted to encourage the greater good for all Republican’s this election year.
Marty, I mean Mitch, should be ashamed of himself!
BTW, I know beyond any doubt that Marty is absolutely not Mitch at TC.
Bryanna, I can also back-up that Marty is not Mitch. In fact, on the rare occasion that Marty does write anything on a blog, it is in the comments section and he has always used his own name. (A few times others have even impersonated him in comment sections, but let’s not dredge that back up again.)
Also, it wasn’t even Mitch that wrote the post on TC, but TC himself.
The only TC I can think of happens to be someone very close to the Nohe family and a Republican. I won’t mention their name, but it makes sense now. Thanks for the scoop.
TC stands for Too Conservative. The owner/operator of that blog is Vincent Harris. There is no mystery here.
If Mitch Cumstein is NOT Marty then he must be his twin brother…..
