Let’s Have A Party

By Greg L | 15 March 2007 | Virginia House, Prince William County | 8 Comments

Delegate Scott Lingamfelter is going to have his “sixth annual fiftieth birthday party” as a fundraiser at the Old Hickory Country Club in Woodbridge on March 27th between 7:30 and 9:00 PM.  Former Senator George Allen will be a special guest at the event, which I’m sure will make it interesting and worthwhile to attend.  Wish Scott a happy 50th, again, and take this opportunity to support a delegate who has been doing a fantastic job representing us in the General Assembly this year.

Support levels are $2,500 (Grand Benefactor), $1,000 (Benefactor), $500 (Host), $250 (Patron), $100 (Sponsor) and $50 (Friend).  Individual tickets are $35 each.  Checks should be mailed to Friends of Scott Lingamfelter, 5420 Lomax Way, Woodbridge VA 22193.

Gill For Delegate lists Lingamfelter as a Gill endorser. Does anyone know the reason he endorsed the former chief lobbyist for Abdurahman Alamoudi’s American Muslim Council?

We need to find out what false information Gill defenders have been providing Del. Lingamfelter. Does Del. Lingamfelter know about the imprisoned Alamoudi and the AMC? Maybe someone needs to tell him so that he can take appropriate action, i.e., withdraw his support.

I say this because the Gill defenders who post here think that Alamoudi and Gill were simply members of the AMC. In fact as chief lobbyist for the AMC Gill would have had to lobby for the positions of the AMCs extremist leader, Alamoudi.

And we see evidence of this. Gill demanded that the INS stop using secret evidence in deportation hearings, a demand that not even the most liberal Dems today are making.

Gill walked out when the son of imprisoned terrorist Sami Al-Arian was kept out of a lobbying meeting that Gill was attending. Gill was also a lobbyist at the time for the Islamic Institute which then issued a statement saying that keeping young Al-Arian out of the meeting was an attempt by the White House to choose Muslim leaders.

Gill said nothing when the AMC that he worked for in the aftermath of 9-11 instructed Moslems not to talk to the FBI.

Again, some Gill defenders are ignorant about these matters and claim that the AMC merely told Moslems to hire attorneys when talking to the FBI.

Unless someone talks to Del. Lingamfelter there is no way of knowing what false information Gill defenders have been telling him.

Back when Scott was first running, Gill was among the first volunteers to come and support him. This is out of loyalty for the efforts Gill made on Scott’s behalf. While I might not agree with the endorsement, I can understand why Scott made it and I do respect his devotion to loyalty over political convenience.

What does Scott say about Gill’s involvement with Alamoudi and the AMC? Does Scott know about it? Has anyone told him?

If all Scott knows is what Gill told him then he doesn’t know much. A lot of people think the only problem is that Gill filled out a form incorrectly. Or that Gill and Alamoudi happened to belong to the same organization.

I haven’t discussed the matter with him. He is aware that there is some controversy, but I don’t know how familiar he is with it’s extent. Even if there’s stuff here he’s not familiar with, knowing him a bit I don’t believe that short of a criminal conviction he would abandon someone he views as a friend. That’s just not who he is.

There are folks who it might be worthwhile to beat up a bit because of their endorsement of Faisal Gill. This wouldn’t be one of them, as it’s a strictly personal decision, has nothing to do with politics for him, and won’t result in anything positive. Scott really is on the right side of the islamic extremism and homeland security issues.

What else besides lobbying for a convicted terrorist is Scott willing to overlook in the people he endorses?

Del. Lingamfelter is well-respected for many things, including his career long service to this country in our military. He is loyal, this time perhaps to a fault, but I intend to support him nonetheless. He is the real deal when it comes being on the right side on issues of national security and illegal immigration. PW republicans are fortunate to have such a high-quality person representing them in Richmond. I am no fan of Gill, but have very high regard for Del. Lingamfelter.

The Gill incident is too serious to just whitewash with words such as loyalty…etc. If Scott maintains his support for Gill, he can scratch me off his list as a past contributor, both in volunteering and monetarily.

If someone attends this event please ask Scott to read Customs Agent Brett Gentrup’s 2003 affidavit for continued detention of Abdurahman Alamoudi, the founder and head of the American Muslim Council.

If Scott wishes to endorse Faisal Gill then he should be able to explain lucidly why Gill was the chief lobbyist for a terrorist.
