Another Vulture Descends?

A recording artist by the name of “R. Kelly” is reported to have written a song in the aftermath of the Virginia Tech shootings, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund. That’s a nice gesture, but I’m not really sure they’d want to accept this donation seeing that this guy has somewhat of a disturbing past involving child pornography, according to Wikipedia:
In June 2002, Kelly was indicted on 21 counts of having sexual intercourse with a minor. The charges, which were later reduced to soliciting a minor for child pornography, stemmed from a video tape showing Kelly having sex with a 14-year-old girl. To date, Kelly still faces 14 of the original charges.
Healing is nice, but this just looks to me like some miscreant trying to restore his tarnished image by associating himself with the victims of this tragedy. I don’t like it one bit.
