Help Save Hampton Roads?

Today, the traditional day of celebration for assorted communists and socialists, is not uncharacteristically the day when illegal alien apologists protest in favor of amnesty. After last year’s protests, where illegals were bold enough to parade around in shirts bearing the slogan “I’m illegal, so what?”, replaced the American flag with the Mexican flag at several high schools, and felt sufficiently emboldened to show the American electorate what their real intentions were in other creative and inflammatory ways, voters have responded pretty strongly with the message to their elected officials that enough is enough. As a result, today’s demonstrations are looking substantially smaller and less significant, and residents outraged by this behavior are taking action.

One way citizens have responded is by forming local organizations dedicated to promoting local solutions which may reduce the number of illegal aliens present in their communities. It’s happened in Herndon, Loudoun, and Manassas. There’s talk about establishing something in the valley, and Warrenton might be organizing soon. Now that opportunity is coming to Virginia Beach.

The program is still being finalized, but organizers will have a presentation on the Section 287(g) program, and representatives from American Council for Immigration Reform and Federation for American Immigration Reform will talk about opportunities for citizens to get involved. It should be an excellent opportunity for residents to learn about what can be done, how they can help their community, and what alternatives there are to simply complaining about this intolerable situation.  If you live in Hampton Roads, and are concerned about illegal aliens in your community, this is where you’ll want to be:

Date: Friday May 18th
Time: Doors open at 6:00 PM, Meeting start time - 7:00 PM
Place: Surfside Inn, Calypso Room, 1211 Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach, VA

While not exactly Hampton Roads it appears the recent pressure put on the VA Beach Police Department has paid off. The department will now ask the Citizenship status of people stopped for suspected drunk driving, and being drunk in public.
