“Plan B” For Faisal Gill

By Greg L | 11 May 2007 | 51st HOD District | 6 Comments

Faisal Gill may be hedging his bets. On the agenda of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, the “Supervisors Time” section (agenda item number eleven), is this strange item:

C. RES. - Appoint - Faisal Gill as the Regular Occoquan Magisterial District Representative to the Prince William County Housing Board - Supervisor May

Why would Faisal Gill seek such an appointment? Perhaps he believes he’s not going to be the next delegate from the 51st District, and wants to add something to his resume for a future run that might actually be positive. Of course that will mean he will have to show up for meetings, which would be a novelty.

Maybe this is a good thing. I’m sure Faisal Gill will be far less dangerous to the electorate as a member of the Housing Board than he would be as a member of the House of Delegates.  I’m encouraged that he sees his chances as so poor that he’s looking for “Plan B”, though.

I believe he had been serving on the Housing Board since 2005 (not sure how often he went though…).

But here is his resume from the county’s site:

No listing of Gill & Gallinger …

Faisal has actually been very helpful and effective on the Housing Board. You are overly critical on Faisal.

I do know the Board is re-appointing the Housing Board due to some structural changes.

Is this an endorsement from Mike May for Faisal? I expected better from Mike.

Faisal was the Convention Chair for Occoquan. The day of the convention the Gill campaign arrived VERY early, placed dozens of Gill for Delegate signs along the roadway leading up to the school, had a hot breakfast buffet at the front door compliments of Gill for Delegate, and insisted on plastering Gill for Delegate lapel stickers on everyone the moment they walked through the doors.

The May campaign was overshadowed by Gill for Delegate, the convention was poorly organized and major details were overlooked. Water under the bridge I suppose but this is one more example of why Gill isn’t fit to serve.

How quickly people forget. Let me remind you about the time Gill was responsible for bringing the food to a PWCRC Labor Day picnic and never showed!

Maybe Faisal did not make the picnic because he was detained by Prince William County police for wreckless driving???
