If Illegal Aliens Concern You…
By Greg L | 16 May 2007 | National Politics | 10 Comments
Last night’s presidential debate really made it clear for me that there are a few candidates who talk about addressing the problem of illegal aliens in our country, and some who actually want to do something about it. With an amnesty proposal looking like it may be scheduled for a vote in the United States Senate next Monday, it doesn’t seem at all like the time to let up on this issue at the national level. If this issue is going to remain prominent in the presidential campaign and adequately demonstrate that amnesty is not a viable political option, there’s no better way to protect our national security in this respect than to support Tom Tancredo for President.
Maybe you share this opinion. If you do, I have an opportunity to do something other than whine about how McCain, Romney and Giuliani are so abysmal on the illegal alien issue. Team Tancredo is phonebanking in Old Town Manassas Vienna every evening, and they can use a few more folks. I’m going to be helping them out, and if you want to join me, shoot me an email.
I could use a few more men, and women, along there with me.
UPDATE: The phonebank is in Vienna, VA not in Manassas.

You’re on you’re own there…..
i can’t decide who’s a bigger nutcase, tom tancredo on the right or mike gravel on the left. god i’d love to see those two get their parties’ nominations, now THAT would be an entertaining election!!!
DON’T “BANK” ON FAISAL GILL TO BE AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:
From his Law Firm’s web site:
“Deportation/Removal
Even if you or your loved one is already in the process of being removed from the U.S.,
Gill & Gallinger may be able to help. We can help you qualify for protection from
deportation based on Cancellation of Removal, Waiver of Deportation, Asylum, or other
methods. Time is extremely important in situations dealing with possible removal, so
contact the Gill & Gallinger today for a free consultation.”
What?!?! You’re kidding, right?
Here’s Byron York’s take on things at National Review:
“Rep. Tom Tancredo, a single-issue candidate on immigration, astonished some observers by giving weak and disjointed answers on…immigration. (Rep. Duncan Hunter was much stronger on the subject of building a wall to cut the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico.)”
I like you, BVBL; I really do, but kindly do your readers a favor and stop throwing Duncan Hunter under the bus, OK?
I’m not throwing Duncan Hunter under the bus. I have great respect for him, but I feel Tom Tancredo represents my values and beliefs better than he.
Tom Tancredo is anything but the “single issue” candidate that the MSM wants to portray him as. At the last debate he spoke forcefully and comprehensively about tax reform, federal spending cutbacks, national defense, abortion and health care reform. He’s addressed every issue that concerns me, and on every point I am in complete agreement with him.
Obviously immigration issues are at the top of his issues list. More than any other candidate, he gets that illegal aliens are a national security risk, and an economic risk, as well as a quality of life risk to the country. Because he’s beating the drum on this, it’s forcing everyone else to talk about this issue and clearly define what their position is. If Tancredo left the stage tomorrow, it’s very likely that substantive discussion of immigration reform would abruptly end.
By all means, support Duncan Hunter if you want. He’s vastly superior to Rudy, McCain and Romney. I just don’t see him ready to make his issues more important than his candidacy in the same way Tancredo has. I’m certain he would vote the right way on just about all the issues that concern me and make a fine president, but the person I most want to see sworn in in January ‘09 is Tom Tancredo.
Don’t worry. Congress is on track to “solve” the problem with an anmesty. They’re voting on it Monday.
I bet it passes. I’d love to be wrong.
I’ve never made this suggestion before because of a single issue (in my entire life), but the illegal alien issue is of such enormous importance that I firmly believe that our Legislators must be held accountable: ANYONE who votes for amnesty should be targeted for immediate political retirement.
The point about those who merely talk about illegal immigration is well-taken. State Senator Ken Cuccinelli attended a Save Herndon rally and pretends to oppose illegal immigration. Yet Cuccinelli, along with Kopko, Stewart, Lingamfelter et al, is one of Faisal Gill’s primary endorsers.
And as the poster above mentioned, Gill and Gallinger actively solicit work filing belated applications for refugee status for those about to be deported.
Imagine the sheer gall of Gill and Gallinger to even file such motions, let alone advertise that they were doing it. Someone entered the United States. Instead of filing for refugee status when entering, as a law-abiding refugee would do, these losers sneak in the country and wait until they are about to be deported.
Then, way too late, after these illegal immigrants have been violating our laws for a very long time, suddenly Gill and Gallinger show up and attempt to delay their deportation with belated filings.
I hear you when you say punish congressmen who act wrongly. I had an anti-Jim Moran (D-VA) website for three years. But incumbent congressmen in gerrymandered districts are responsible to no one. Removing them is almost impossible.
And if Davis or Wolf etc act wrongly on immigration amnesty (I know that Jim Moran will) there isn’t going to be much you can do.
But Cuccinelli is vulnerable. His district is mostly Democratic. By endorsing Faisal Gill, a partner in an immigration law firm Cuccinelli has shown that Cuccinelli is not sincere.
At best Cuccinelli supports immigration reform up until the time when his pals like Faisal Gill profit from illegal immigration, and then Cooch looks the other way.
Cooch refuses to back down on his support for immigration law firm partner Faisal Gill. If he, representing a Democratic district, pays no price for that then no one else will either.
But removing Cooch from office will send a message to other pols who talk one way but act another and betray their constituents. Stop doing that or else!
Tonight while I was over at the sports fields behind Stonewall(everyone stand up, please) Elementary school, I saw a jeep being driven by a hispanic male, nothing unusual about that. However, what was unusual was his tag, ilegal H.
Now isn’t that just the ultimate indication that something is drastically wrong with the system when an illegal alien feels secure enough to flaunt it?
