How amazing this is...Jim Young, an obviously intelligent man who claims to be a Republican...goes to the meetings...speaks as though he supports the party and knows what's right, claims to be a conservative, yet supports a candidate who is beyond question "easy meat" to the Dems. Come on, James, wake up!! I know he's a friend of yours....and I know he has a lot of money....but please, help us select a Republican candidate who has a chance of winning in November. I'm not saying Julie is "...so electable," I never have...November will be tough, regardless of of the 2 June, but let's not go into the race against the Democrats with one arm tied behind our back!! You're way to smart to think that good for the party. I want a Republican in Richmond!!

"""the assistance of someone too far out even for the Mason District Dems, JM """

The Lee District Democratic Committee said that they would not permit me to join because I supported Republicans (Lisa Marie Cheney) and opposed Dems (I had a website they were familiar with called GoodbyeJim.com. I attacked Rep. Moran every day for three years online.)

It is strange that Jim Young considers supporting Republicans "far out."

"""And if Julie is so “electable,” she should have no trouble securing the GOP nomination."""

Not so. For one thing, the odds are stacked against her. The people running the Convention are: (1) Faisal employee Kopko; (2) Speaker at Faisal's campaign kickoff and self-announced Faisal voter McQuigg (sp?) ; and (3) Faisal nominater for PWC Housing Board Mike May.

Mr. Young,

It is clear that you are a Faisal supporter, as you have stated on numerous occasions that the things Gill's past associations mean little to you. I have looked at everything posted here and elswhere, gone to the cited sources to ensure their legitimacy, and found everything where the poster(s) said they would be. I have read the articles, looked at the government documents, and even went so far as to check several author's primary sources. All seem to be legitimate.

Since you are a lawyer, I am surprised that you will not admit that the evidence has become overwhelming. I can see why you would dismiss this blog-owners efforts as a vendetta, considering the history that exists between he and Gill. However, there are many, many others who are bringing Gill's questionable actions and judgement to light.

Aren't you concerned about the future of your party? Shouldn't the voters know who they are voting for? Doesn't the party deserve to have the very best, electable candidate? I say it does, and Faisal Gill isn't.

Any campaign involving Gill will become a circus. He will have to spend all of his time on the defensive. As the last election results for the 51st show, the Party is not as strong in the district as it once was. This won't be a race about issues. It will be a race about the candidates qualifications and background. In both areas, Gill is lacking. The oppostion will use every bit of this very public information to bury Gill. Furthermore, they will use Gill to attack Kopko, Stewart, McQuigg, etc.

So when will you acknowledge that Gill is a liability, not an asset to the Party?

Well, that's fine, freedom. And if Julie is so "electable," she should have no trouble securing the GOP nomination.

'Course, the fact that some "Republicans" feel that they have to --- with the assistance of someone too far out even for the Mason District Dems, JM --- slime Faisal in order to achieve that end may also speak to her "electability."

You can be sure that the Democrats are frothing at the mouth over a Gill nomination. The really SAD part is that those who claim to be Republicans supporting Gill know full-well that he is unelectable.

I'd have to say that this is the most damning part of the AMC/Alamoudi/Gill statement:

"‘The FBI is looking for information to use against you, your family and/or your community. The FBI has a history of harassing and harming minority and immigrant communities"

I so wish I could go back in time, make Gill switch over to running as a Democrat, and see how James Young, Charles and the other Gill defenders would react to all this. I absolutely guarantee it would be totally different.

Notice how James Young refuses to read what the Gill and Alamoudi's AMC said. The AMC said

"""FBI agents are trained to get you to make incomplete or contradictory statements — which later can be used against you in court. It is better to say nothing.’"""

IT...IS...BETTER...TO...SAY...NOTHING

What part of the AMCs advice to Moslems does James Young not understand?

No lawyer worth a damn would EVER advise his client to talk to a government investigatory agency without the advice of counsel. That is sound legal advice. I would suggest that those trying to spin it as something sinister learn a little about the dangers of entanglement with the criminal justice system.

Someone wrote """Did Gill write the AMC letter that told Muslims not to talk to the FBI?”"""

To which Anonymous, another Gill Kool-Aid drinker, responded unfactually:

"""This is an out-and-out lie. The AMC never told Muslims not to talk to the FBI."""

The Gill/Alamoudi American Muslim Council DID INDEED tell Moslems not to talk to the FBI. Here is the quote, as reprinted in the 12/17/2003 edition of the American Spectator:

"""If the crack research team at the FBI had looked at the AMC website in the aftermath of September 11, however, this is what it would have found under the heading, The Law Says You Don't Have to Talk to the FBI: 'The FBI is looking for information to use against you, your family and/or your community. The FBI has a history of harassing and harming minority and immigrant communities. Some people are spending a long time in jail because they or their friends talked to the FBI.…FBI agents are trained to get you to make incomplete or contradictory statements -- which later can be used against you in court. It is better to say nothing.' """

Good Guy, why are you even bringing up the DHS statement "clearing" him? He's affiliated with known terrorists, convicted terrorists, and terrorist sympathizers. You're trying to shift the issue to make Gill look like he just got caught up in a bad situation, and ignoring the fact that as the spokesman for that organization, he damn sure should have known what kind of "business" the man he was speaking for was into- terrorism. So he's either a terrorist associate, a total idiot, or both- either way he's not fit for office!

"Did Gill write the AMC letter that told Muslims not to talk to the FBI?"

This is an out-and-out lie. The AMC never told Muslims not to talk to the FBI.

The AMC advised all members of the Muslim community to have legal representation present whenever they speak to the FBI.

What's wrong with that??!
I think legal counsel (spelling?) is a good thing. I hope no-one here objects to everyone's right to legal representation.

From the 12/17/2003 American Spectator. Gill was the AMCs chief lobbyist in the aftermath of 9-11:

"""If the crack research team at the FBI had looked at the AMC website in the aftermath of September 11, however, this is what it would have found under the heading, The Law Says You Don't Have to Talk to the FBI: "The FBI is looking for information to use against you, your family and/or your community. Why was Gill working as the chief lobbyist for the American Muslim Council, an organization which told Moslems not to talk to the FBI?

From the 12/17/2003 American Spectator. Gill was the AMCs chief lobbyist in the aftermath of 9-11:

“”"If the crack research team at the FBI had looked at the AMC website in the aftermath of September 11, however, this is what it would have found under the heading, The Law Says You Don’t Have to Talk to the FBI: “The FBI is looking for information to use against you, your family and/or your community. The FBI has a history of harassing and harming minority and immigrant communities. Some people are spending a long time in jail because they or their friends talked to the FBI.…FBI agents are trained to get you to make incomplete or contradictory statements — which later can be used against you in court. It is better to say nothing.”"”

Here is a link to the Muslim Public Affairs Council

Gill talks about the FBI and law enforcement and his brother in the FBI

Gill seems to flip flop about whether one should talk to the FBI without a lawyer. When Gill was in law enforcement he would say cooperate with the FBI. Now he says you might want to get a lawyer.

Here are some Gill comments from the Muslim Public Affairs Council

Gill seems to have to different views about the FBI. Which is interesting because his brother is in the FBI according to Gill.

Gill does state in one conference that you don't have to talk to the FBI unless you have a lawyer. He claims and flip flops about whether to have a lawyer. When Gill was in law enforcement he would say something different. Now that Gill is out of law enforcement he would say you don't have to talk to the FBI without a lawyer.

Of course Gill's FBI brother might disagree with Gill. I assume FBI agents like to talk to regular people without a lawyer. Having a lawyer just adds to combative nature of the exchange.

This is Gill speaking at the Muslim Public Affairs Society.
