I am not aware of Julie Lucas making any notable errors in “her paperwork”, as you call it.

When the choice comes down to picking between two idiots who could not file their election campaign paperwork properly and legally (Gill and Lucas) or the wannabe democrat (Nichols)…….I’m going with the smart gay guy.

That means that more investigation is needed as to what happened to SB1045 and why it never came up for a vote.

Perhaps Senator Obenshain would know. I will ask Cuccinelli also, since unlike Faisal Gill Sen. Cuccinelli is not known to be litigious and is not likely to sue me.

SB1045 provided for “Immigration; powers of law-enforcement officers. Expands the powers of state and local law-enforcement officials to include immigration powers conferred upon the law-enforcement agency by agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The bill also allows the Department of Corrections to receive any person into a state or local facility committed under the authority of the United States.”

Jay O’Brien was the sponsor of SB1045, described below. The bill had no co-sponsors, which means that Cooch refused to co-sponsor it.

Equally reprehensibly, it died in the Senate House of Justice Committee without coming up for a vote. Both Jay O’Brien and Ken Cuccinelli are on that committee.

So why did it not come up for a vote? My impression is that SB 1045 did not come up for a vote because no one on the House of Justice committee would second it. Which means that Ken Cuccinelli would not second it.

Julie Lucas on her website mentions the importance of enlisting our local law enforcement officials in the fight against illegal immigration, and explicitly supports 287g in that regard.

Ken Cuccinelli when discussing illegal immigration on Ken’s website makes no mention of either local enforcement or 287g.

A reasonable conclusion is that Ken Cuccinelli opposed Jay O’Brien’s bill SB 1045 which provided for state and local enforcement of immigration laws.

Senator Cuccinelli has done an outstanding job on the subject of illegal aliens in my view.

In the case of Ken Cuccinelli is isn’t just one mistake.

Cuccinelli has accepted $15,900 from officials of the government-raided Safa Group, and refuses to return it.

Cuccinelli has accepted $700 from the radical imam Taha J. Al-Alwani. Al-Alwani was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Sami Al-Arian trial. Al-Arian is in jail now after having been found to have committed terrorist conspiracy and civil contempt.

Al-Alwani issued a fatwa in 1988-89 stating that jihad to liberate Palestine is required for all Moslems. Al-Alwani’s Islamic institute was a major funder of Al-Arian’s WISE terrorist front group for Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Cuccinelli also has a very un-conservative position on illegal immigration. If you visit Cooch’s website you will see that he does not claim to support state and local enforcement of immigration laws, including the 287g program.

Julie Lucas, on the other hand, makes 287g and local enforcement a key point of her platform.

If Cuccinelli had only done this one thing wrong then I might agree to give him a pass. But this guy has a history. Ken Cuccinelli has been allied with jihadist supporters and now an immigration law firm partner for the past five years.

If Cuccinelli returns to office in November then he will only be emboldened. Others will think that they too can ally with supporters of jihad and win reelection.

Keep Lingamfelter if you must, but Cuccinelli must pay a price for what he has done and does on behalf of jihad supporters.

I don’t care if Cuccinelli whines that it is legal to support jihad. It is legal to perform abortions too, but Cuccinelli doesn’t endorse abortionists.

So why does Cuccinelli endorse and take money from jihadists and their chief lobbyists? Why?

Gill wouldn’t be the first Moslem nominated for elective office. There are scores of them, including U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN.)

It doesn’t matter anyway if Faisal Gill is a Moslem. I attacked Jim Moran (D-VA) online for three years, and Jim Moran is not a Moslem.

I attack Ken Cuccinelli now, and Ken Cuccinelli is also not a Moslem.

If Gill is nominated then I expect to have a lot of fun attacking Gill and his enabler Ken Cuccinelli through November. Gill’s chances of winning in November, never high to begin with, sunk near zero with the withdrawal of Jeff Dion from the Democratic HOD-51 race.

Paul Nichols would have to be caught with the proverbial dead girl or live boy to lose. That assumes that he and his backers go full-bore against Faisal Gill, Terror Lobbyist #1.

It won’t be necessary for Nichols to say those things about Gill himself. In fact, he shouldn’t say them directly. A bunch of us can say it about Gill instead and get the information we need to out there.

Mike May nominated Faisal Gill to be reappointed to the housing commission, which is hardly a sign that he’s endorsing his candidacy in the 51st. He has not endorsed Faisal Gill. Beating him up is wrong.

Among Faisal Gill’s endorsers are a number of really good elected officials who I think made a mistake. It’s hard to find any elected official who never makes mistakes, and it’s not right to characterize their whole career as flawed based on one endorsement. If these folks were out actively campaigning for Faisal Gill, I might have some issues, but to my knowledge none of these folks have, so I don’t. I wouldn’t want to throw Scott Lingamfelter out for one endorsement when he has otherwise done an absolutely terrific job otherwise, for example.

These elected officials probably jumped to support Faisal without knowing the full story, and now they’re stuck. Let’s try to be a little understanding here. This isn’t the only time in history where elected officials endorsed a candidate only to find out later there were some good reasons why they shouldn’t have. It happens, it’s unfortunate, and as long as they don’t compound their mistake with others, there’s no good reason to beat these folks up.

Let’s try to not be as hysterical as the Faisal Gill supporters, OK?

He protects illegals about to be deported in his law practice and as a lobbyost works to reform immigration, that is why he was endorsed by the VMPAC.
