CONVA. Clearly you didn't personally attend the Committee of 100's program on the county and schools revenue sharing agreement. The room lit up with laughter at Corey's joke about his father and the government. People love that joke. He was very prepared, relaxed and interested in hearing the opinion's of the diverse audience.

Gerry Connelly came across tough as nails on fiscal responsibility, even described himself as a fiscal conservative. It was a bold and rather impressive move by Gerry and something we would have expected to hear but from Corey!

I love how almost every posting ends up into a Fasil bashing. Which is why Dion would be foolish to withdraw. If the PWCRP is so willing to bash its own (so much for the 11th Commandment), then why should Dion withdraw? You guys have written his campaign brochure.

He also saw what happened when Matt Harrison expressed interest in the 52nn Distict race two years ago. To punish him for visiting some groups such as Equality Prince William and his lack of electoral experience, the Democratic establishment pressured him to step aside in favor of Hilda Barg. We saw where that got the Party.

So Dion knows that the Democratic establishment knows very little about winning local races.

Now, please keeping the intel about Fasil coming. You are giving Lingumfeller and Jacks a great new seat mate. ROTFL.

I say hammer Faisal repeatedly, and when Faisal is gone hammer Faisal's enablers Bolling, Cuccinelli and, if he is vulnerable, Stewart.

Make sure that the whole world knows that they endorsed the former chief lobbyist for the imprisoned Abdurahman Alamoudi's American Muslim Council.

If Corey Stewart is stupid enough to take on Gerry Connally, even in race for dog catcher, Connally will clean his clock. The difference between the two was quite evendent in a recent Committee of 100 panel on the difference in scholl budgets and funding. Connally did his homework and was well prepared, while Steward had to rely an the PWC school board rep to comstistantly bail him out. Stewart did get a small laugh when he re-told the story about his father in the hospital, which we hear everytime he speaks. Maybe he can get Faisal to write him new script.

Greg:

I may not know everything that goes on in Prince William County Democratic party politics, but I know a bit. First, I've not heard anybody use the word "fag" in refering to Jeff or "terrorist" in talking about Gill. Most of us find that tyep of rhetoric off putting. Now, as I say, I don't hear everything, so maybe there are some people who talk like that, but that is the exception. When it comes to the use of langauge like that, it comes up in the discussion threads of this site a lot more than amongst Prince William County Democrats.

Second, whatever may be happening with respect to Jeff staying or leaving the race, I've not heard Earnestine Jenkins name thrown about on that score. Ernie is an important person in Prince William County Democratic politics, but she does need to sleep, so don't assume she is behind everything.

Third, there are a lot of Democrats, very active in the party, who actually believe in democracy and think the decision on who the candidate is can be made in a convention. If Paul Nichols is, in fact, a better candidate than Jeff, he ought to be able to get enough people to the convention to win. As for taking the gloves off, I'm not naive about how politics works, but it doesn't make sense for him to do that. Jeff has been upfront about his life. For me, that counts in his favor. I know some would that he live in the closet and be a twisted psychological wreck rather than acknowledge the reality of his sexuality, but that is not the direction he's gone in. Paul Nichols is not going to become the Democratic nominee or win the election on the basis of the alleged problems of other cndidates. If he wants to win, he needs to make a positive case for Paul NIchols.

Fourth, as for your comment on there bieing any Democrats left on June 2, there will be if we have a convention race in which the candidates set out a positive agenda for the future. It is how Democrats have won elections in Virginia. If it becomes an exercise in the politics of personal destruction, as the Republican race in the 51st seems to be degenerating into, then you are right, it will hurt the Democratic party.
