Furor In Fairfax
By Greg L | 1 June 2007 | Fairfax County, Illegal Aliens | 13 Comments
La Shawn Barber of the DC Examiner has discovered a new phenomenon in the DC suburbs: liberals fed up with large numbers of illegal aliens in their communities. Welcome to the movement, liberals. We’re happy to have you.
Now that illegal aliens have migrated to their neighborhoods, such liberals have become pro-enforcement all of a sudden.
A Republican called in to say her Democratic friends labeled her a racist when she’d complain about illegal immigration. She’d tell them something like, “You just wait until it happens to you. Then you’ll be singing a different tune.”
It’s happening to them, and they are singing a different tune. It turns out that liberals in half-a-million-dollar houses don’t like living next door to a single-family house filled to the brim with illegal aliens who park on the front lawn, throw trash everywhere and urinate outside.
This should never have been seen as a partisan issue. The “kinder, gentler” liberal outlook was never meant to be kinder and gentler to criminals and those who recklessly disregard the safety of their neighbors. When your neighborhood rapidly transforms from a normal, quiet and safe suburb into something resembling a third-world country, complete with trash strewn yards, junk cars, loud noise, and rampant alcoholism, it doesn’t require you hold any particular political philosophy in order to become outraged.
Democrats on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in Virginia may be ousted in November if they don’t deal with the growing problems. Rick Gordon, a homeland security consultant, told The Washington Post that “Enough is enough. These frauds need to go!”
Absolutely. Let’s hope challengers to the Fairfax Board of County Supervisors push this issue hard, and change enough of the makeup of that board so that these insane policies which encourage the presence of illegal aliens will be changed.

Already in Los Angeles areas you have illegal aliens putting up Mexican Flags up on official government property such as the Post Office. It won’t be long before that happens here.
I may be wrong, but I believe that even John Jenkins (D) Neabsco, even stated that it is time to start “defining” a family, much like Manassas has had to do.
What is sad, though, is that the apologists will scream racism, even though I know a good number of 1st Generation who are outraged at not JUST the growing numbers, but that it is happening at all.
Here’s an idea for debate, when a U.S. company goes into the 2nd World nations to set up a factory, instead of paying the workers the minimum wage in THAT country, they pay them at LEAST the minimum wage in OUR country. That way, the workers will be making (in their minds) a ton of money and there is really no incentive to sneak into the U.S. where “all the money is.”
First the Washington COMPOST and now the Examiner does a story on liberals fed up with illegal immigration. A bit of NIMBY is going on here, and I love it. Welcome to the real world. Oh, these liberals don’t mind using illegals for housekeeping babysitting, but let them move in next door, and oh the humanity of it all.
When has a Liberal NOT been a hypocrite???
Hypocrites, all.
Too bad we don’t oust the supervisors in the park for not enforcing existing laws.
I remember quite well two years ago how some of us were called Homophobic, xenoophobic, and gullible” for opposing (government funding of) day labor centers for illegals. I guess now our leftist friends are reaping what they sow!Let’s keep reminding everyone who has done the most coddling and pandering

Viva la Migra!!!
Greg,
I know Fairfax County needs to vote for better supervisors but our supervisors haven’t done any better.
I’m sorry but I’m going to talk about this until I get answers and see some changes in my neighborhood.
You still haven’t contacted me about when a good time is for you to come and do a tour of my neighborhood. I know you are busy but I did send you a couple of e-mails asking you when you are available.
I’m still waiting to hear how 10131 Lomond Drive got to be built. You must admit that you can see some zoning violations just by driving by and looking at it. John Stirrup has done nothing about it and will do nothing about it. So I say to you all who may read this that this can happen in your neighborhood too and our supervisors will do nothing about it.
It is so sad that we pay these people to protect us (citizens) and they turn their heads the other way. Seems like Dominion Power is all John Stirrup is concerned about. Seems like he is more concerned about how the outside of the county looks than what is happening to the inside of the county.
When was the last time you heard him address the board during their public meetings about illegal aliens and the problems they are causing?
It is too sad!
About time, this will happen more and more…
absurd thought -

your country is not your own
it belongs to others
who are guests in your backyard

Patty,
I couldn’t agree with you more regarding Mr. Stirrup. Please see my comments under HSM goes to PWCBS. Are we the only 2 citizens, who see his lack of concern for the illegals in his district(Especially Westgate & Sudley)? Mr. Stirrup mentioned nothing regarding the illegals, after a strong turn out from HSM. It was Mr. Covington(Brenstville), who brought up the fact this(illegals), needs to be addressed. I believe his district has the lowest number of illegals, yet he’s listening to citizens. I would like to walk through neighborhood, and then have you come to the 9700 block of Lafayette Ave., where I’ve lived my entire life, these are not the same streets I once knew and loved so dearly. I never thought I could leave, now I dream of the day I will leave, unless a major change happens.
Dear Lafayette,
I live on Woodstock Street. My daughter’s friend lives on Lafayette and I have walked up that street quite often. I know you want to leave. I’ve had thoughts about that myself but if we leave they (illegals) win. I have noticed that some of the illegals have moved out of King George. They probably couldn’t afford the mortgage payments anymore. I wish someone like Greg would run for Gainesville supervisor. I think we would have better representation. The only thing I can say is that we just need to continue to put pressure on Stirrup. I think he knows he is in trouble because of 10131 Lomond Drive. If he doesn’t address the issues with that house soon maybe HSM should contact the state. I can’t imagine a house with 9 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms (a bath per 2 bedrooms I’m guessing) can be allowed on a residential street. It is obvious it is being used as a hotel.
Please don’t give up. I don’t live too far from you. Maybe we can get together sometime.
Patty,
I’m not going to give up yet, I need my daughter to complete her education in here PWC. I know she’s getting a better education than I did, during the 70’s to mid 80’s.
Greg suggested we should go visit our Supervisors sometime. I can’t waste time doing that, if you call his office & can’t get a response. I think he needs, to be reminded of the fact, for years, the largest number of citizens he represents, were from Westgate & Sudley, that’s all there really was to the Gainesville District. He’s only lived in PW, since 1/6/99, oh yeah it’s a peaceful 22 Acre parcel on Rt. 15. I can see he wants to be surrounded by that much land, so he doesn’t have see what PWC, is really like. He’s only been land owner in PWC, for a little over 8yrs. I did notice on channel 23. Gainesville District Clean Up Day, will be June 18th, on Barrett, next to Irongate Way. Is it true, he really is coming to Manassas? Where he has many lifelong citizens he represents. I’m sure not much has changed in his neighborhood over that last eight years. I sure would like to tell him, how I’ve seen Westgate & Sudley over last 38yrs, where I’ve lived on the 9700 block of Lafayette. We need representation, by someone, who doesn’t move into PWC, a couple of years before they run for such an important position.
