Ten Reasons For 51st Convention Delegates

By Greg L | 1 June 2007 | 51st HOD District | 4 Comments

If any delegates to the 51st convention haven’t yet made up their minds, here’s something to consider.

FIVE REASONS TO VOTE FOR JULIE LUCAS

1. She has an excellent record. Julie Lucas was the only Republican on the school board to oppose the new administrative building, and she is the only candidate for delegate to have gotten a bill approved in the General Assembly (HB 1294).

2. She can win in November. She was the first Republican ever elected in the Neabsco District, and won that election with 65% of the vote. Her support is broadly based and not dependent on narrow ethnic constituencies.

3. She has behaved honorably in the campaign, pointing out weaknesses in her opponent using fully documented information from U.S. Government agencies.

4. Her policies and positions consistently reflect solid Republican values.

5. She is a known quantity. As an experienced elected official, she has a demonstrated record of achievement and we don’t have to guess about what she would do in office.

FIVE REASONS TO VOTE AGAINST FAISAL GILL

1. A history of bad choices. Over the past six year’s he’s worked closely with or on behalf of a number of people who are now in jail as supporters of terrorism, or for entities that are on the Treasury Department’s list of Specially Designated Terrorist Organizations. His list of campaign donors includes numerous people who have donated to Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, and Carol Moseley-Braun. (refs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

2. He can’t win in a general election. The Democratic nominee Paul Nichols isn’t a perfect candidate, but has nowhere near the political baggage that Faisal Gill lugs around. Democrats smell blood in the water and will focus on this race if Faisal is nominated. (refs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

3. Attention to detail isn’t his thing. A legislator has to get it right the first time. Faisal Gill failed to register as a lobbyist, forgot to ensure that Steve Chapman filed for the 2006 50th District convention while working on his campaign, and violated DoD Regulations for using his uniform as a campaign prop in his mailers. (refs: 1, 2, 3)

4. A horrible leadership record. As Vice-Chair of the PWCRC he didn’t even bother to show up to PWCRC meetings. The Taxpayer’s Alliance has crumbled under his leadership. (refs: 1)

5. Unethical behavior. His campaign has been patently lying about his opponent. Gill has lobbied to allow unregistered voters to participate in the 51st District convention. (refs: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

The choice here is clear. Vote for Julie Lucas.

Safa group associates in the news. Federal prosecutors have named three prominent Islamic organizations in America as participants in an alleged criminal conspiracy to support a Palestinian Arab terrorist group, Hamas.

Prosecutors applied the label of “unindicted co-conspirator” to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America, and the North American Islamic Trust in connection with a trial planned in Texas next month for five officials of a defunct charity, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development.
