Keep Fighting Julie!

Unconfirmed….CONFIRMED.
I’ve heard that there are witnesses willing to testify that Fasil Gill’s son gave a ballot to someone not a delegate in the Penn precinct who cast the one over-vote in that precinct. Had that precinct not been over-voted, and the other precincts (Lake Ridge and Civic Center) been thrown out as suggested by RPV, Julie Lucas would have won the convention.
More to follow…
UPDATE: NLS, who showed up at the end and stayed later than I did, has another story about potential issues.

How would the son be behind the table with the ballots when there two representatives from each campaign at each voting station?
I caught someone voting at the convention who lives in the Woodbridge district (Rippon Landing)! Her delegate form was turned in by the Gill campaign using an address that is unverifiable in the property tax records database.
The person that did this has fallen on very hard times but as a G-d fearing Christian I cannot believe she wasn’t encouraged or worse, pressured.
Good Question, someone said he was actually a credentials volunteer. Someone needs to ask McQuigg if she knew and allowed that if it is true.
1. Greg, are you aware that there was a Lucas representative handing out ballots in Penn, also.
2. Are you aware that the comitee was informed of this and took care of it.
Why would it surprise anyone that shenanigans would go in the Faisal campaign?
And of course his “handlers”, (Kopko. Stewart, Fitzsimmonds, etc.) are not much better.

The election ended less than 4 hours ago and is Mr. efficiency having already posted it to HIS website, PWCGOP. Such efficiency is seldom seen from Kopko.
A Party Chair taking such a strong position in support of a candidate PRIOR to a convention is WRONG. For the County Chairman at-large to be so involved PRIOR to the convention is equally wrong.
I will vote for a Democrat before I will vote for corrupt Republicans.
The election ended less than 4 hours ago and (TOM KOPKO) is Mr. Efficiency –corrected typo.
The wild card in all this is will Julie now run as an I?
Since this was a party contest, I believe under Virginia law she can still run for the House of Delegates as an I? While she may not care for this route, this is something to consider. It would certainly make the dynamics of the fall race much more interesting.
Can anyone confirm this?
Were there 24 delegate votes (all Gill) that were accepted and counted even though the delegates had no proof of being registered voters, no record of ever having voted, and no confirmation could be made that they were registered to vote at all, anywhere. The delegates claimed they only recently registered to vote so RPV recommended accepting them and KOPKO did! Julie appealed the ruling and lost.
If this is true, then clearly Julie won today.
anon 2 Jun2007 at 9:32 pm:
That is exactly why Kopko wanted a convention so his “employer” could prostitute the process and win. The PWCRC is quickly falling apart and the political process would be better off if it signed off and start all over under a new moniker.
She won’t run as an (I). My gut tells me the wild card in all this is will Julie now run as the (R)? This is absolutely going to be reviewed either at the Congressional District Committee level or RPV legal. I don’t think sunshine on the process is going to favor Gill at all.
Marcus, this has been the rational of 3 possibly 4 other candidates, Julie would rank 4th or 5th if she decided to do it. We need a 5th or 6th Ind. to take out STEWART. He is the one behind all this.
I disagree Anonymous…Stewart isn’t that stupid.
CONVA…Kopko has been an absolute embarassment to the Committee. Members are dropping like flies. The Republican Party members in PW should unite to throw his ass out!
Old School…..I agree. Why pay Kopko for a web-site when you already have another company doing it for you. His $2,000 was the same as what he paid his “staff” person Lorna. I bet Kopko was his campaign manager and today had a big fat bonus tied to today.
LUCAS needs to demand a congressional review.
Gill, McQuigg, May, Kopko and Stewart, I want your testimony under oath.
Prince William Republican’s deserve better representation than this mafia style leadership.
The number of delegates who filed their voter applications between the time the registrar’s books were closed and May 21st is 17, I believe. Still well beyond the margin.
Impressive. A bunch of comments alleging corruption from a number of people (save for AWCheney, no more a delegate to this convention that I) who don’t identify themselves.
Is this the best that you Sore Losermen can do?
I smelled a rat when I learned that the nomination for the 51st district delegate would be chosen in a party convention, rather than in the upcoming primary. I was so puzzled by this move that I decided to serve as a delegate. Chairman Kopko, can you explain why you decided to hold a convention for this race? Inquiring minds want to know…
My initial reaction to the convention was validated. Today’s fiasco was a major embarassment for “our” party and the democrats will have a field day with the results. I’m so disappointed with the process I have decided to JOIN the PWCRC. Perhaps all of us who were shocked by todays events should get involved and do something about it. I would encourage others whose conscience is also troubled by what took place to step forward and reclaim the committee. It’s time for a change!
James Young-
Your an ass.
Sorry Greg I just had to let James know what HE doesn’t.
[…] I had a chance to interview Chris and Barbara Cummings, two delegates from the Penn precinct that participated in the 51st District convention this weekend. They observed one of the more troubling irregularities at the convention that I reported on yesterday. […]
Well, then give me a kiss, “Had to Say.”
