Webb Votes For “No Felon Left Behind”

By Greg L | 6 June 2007 | Illegal Aliens, US Senate | 14 Comments

According to Michelle Malkin, our very own Senator Jim Webb voted today against an amendment to the proposed illegal amnesty bill being considered in the Senate which would have barred amnesty for gang members, suspected terrorists, and felons.  The proposal was known as the Cornyn amendment.

Way to go, Jimmy.  You are a freakin’ idiot.

Warner didn’t do a lot better, joining with Webb and voting in favor of a weak, watered down substitute offered by Ted Kennedy.  CALL YOUR SENATORS.

It is disgusting that our leaders would allow felons to still be eligible for Citizenship. Even those illegals who have ignored court orders to leave the Country will gain Citizenship. Yet, you can imagine what the attitude would be of these Senators if someone committed a felony against one of their family members.

Oh well, America had a great run.

Warner also voted for the original (more stringent) amendment. Now I guess he could’ve voted against the weaker version but then (assuming he runs for re-election in 2008) he’d be accused of wanting to grant amnesty to illegal felons.

The entire crew needs to be replaced. Hopefully their folly will come back to impact their families in a negative fashion.

Once again, Sen. Thinskin Gump (D-WashPo) lives up to our low expectations.

I just love it…even though its 7 years too late. Polls showing that voters prefer ANYONE over President Georgie Shrub over everyone notable person (including Clinton, Thompson, Romney and me) except Ginghrich (guess that breeder straying and cheating got him into trouble with voters…Never understood why men have can’t be faithful).

So beat up on Webb, but the major Republican is considered by the average voter to be a jerk.

They know that the IMAGE pilot program has a good chance of being law after the real ID act comes online next May, that is why they are pushing this crap on us right now. With the stiff penalties for people hiring illegals coming into play they want to save their precious cheap labor while they can and continue to turn us into a 3rd world toilet.

On another note, I saw in the Duncan Donuts in Manassas Park that they are taking part in the IMAGE program and verifying through the database all applicants. Hats off to them.

Back when the campaign between Allen and Webb was raging I was concerned that this kind of issue — your basic law and order, how do we protect America and our respective ‘hometowns’ from what seems to be an ever increasing threat related to criminal illegal aliens (and ‘the system’s’ unwillingness / lack of capacity to deal effectively with it) — was being ignored at our peril.

Man, do I wish that there had been at least one voice in the law enforcement community who had been willing/had the courage to publicly carry the banner on this political issue.

Seems to me that Allen lost by so few votes that had just one simple county, like Prince William County as an example, gotten ‘active’ and made these concerns the cornerstone of the race, such that voters were chosing then as if the votes of today were occurring when these issues are getting attention, it seems likely to me that enough convervative votes would have been obtained to elect Allen over Webb.

Too bad that wasn’t the way it worked out.

Perhaps if PW Co. had — during that political campaign — some kind of brave, visionary leader who seeing this threat on the horizon could have helped generate interest and votes for Allen… If that visionary leader had a strong Law and Order pegigree or platform from which to sound the alarm, I wonder how many people would have switched from Webb to Allen or simply decided to ‘get active’ and vote, rather than sit out the election. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?

Now we all pay the price for that ‘reality’. I hope history does not repeat itself, again!

Say, that reminds me, PW Co. did have just such an elected law and order leader, a guy named Glendell Hill who could have stepped up and taken the leadership position on this now critically important law and order issue.

    When he ran for election four years ago Hill promised, and I ‘m quoting him now, “I will provide the service and REPRESENTATION that citizens deserve and expect.” (Emphasis added.) {Quoting the very top, first commitments to the public, contained on Sheriff Hill’s campaign website, 2003.}

But I don’t recall Sheriff Hill doing anything on this issue. I don’t remember him standing next to Allen, using his office to sound the alarm on this issue. Come to think of it, and after checking by ‘goggling’ it, I can’t find where, despite his campaign promise to provide this reprsentation, I can’t find ANYWHERE, not one example, where Sheriff Hill did anything on this issue….. then or now… I can’t find a single ‘hit’ of Hill supporting Allen over Webb… Too BAD! Missed opportunities really bite…. especially when we don’t learn from them.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed now that its re-election time for the Sheriff and the PW Co. voters are going to get a chance to send a message on these issues… if they are mad/disappointed or simply want to elect a guy who is already engaged on this issue and has stated that he will try his best to really reprsent “the people” on these key, increasingly life and death law and order issues… they can have change by merely, ‘trading-up’ and voting for the only candidate for Sheriff who is already ‘engaged’ on these issues: James J. Fotis for Sheriff, simply by voting in the primary on Tuesday, June 12th.

    IP -

Is there ANY thread that is not subject to being hijacked by your innane commentary? How about heading over toward the Haymarket one - I’m sure there’s something Fotis could do about that situation also. Good grief, I’ve never seen anything like this!!!

At least some of our fearless senators are listening–Reid’s cloture request fell short by only 27 votes.

Let the debating and amending continue!

    Al, buddy, come on.

Illegal immigration is nothing if not a law and order issue.

Virginians are going to suffer due to Webb’s voting record (on illegals and other things I fear).

PW Co. could have made the difference in keeping Webb out and Allen in if only there had been leadership on the part of republicans — and in particular those in certaing key slots, like the Sheriff — had the vision to see the future fights, communicate the risks/dangers to the voters and help make sure that voters had their eye on this issue.

How do we know Senator Allen would not have backed Bush?

I saw Webb on the floor of the Senate the night of the amnesty vote. He did look sheepish. He kept raising his eye brows giving off vibes like can you believe we have to vote on this despite the outcry against amnesty.

This is what you might expect from a freshman in high school.

Not all citizens have a conceal carry permit for a gun when we go shopping in Falls Church or Springfield or Sterling Park where gang violence is tough and prevenlent.

But you need one in certain areas just because of the thousands of gang members who are here illegally.
