CALL SENATORS RIGHT NOW

By Greg L | 7 June 2007 | Illegal Aliens, US Senate | 8 Comments

Call your Senator right now, and urge him to VOTE NO on cloture on S 1348. A 5PM vote is scheduled.

DC Office of Senator John Warner
Washington, DC
202-224-2023

Midlothian Office of Sen. John Warner
Midlothian, VA
804-739-0247

D.C. Office of Sen. James Webb
Washington, DC
202-224-4024

Virginia Beach Office of Sen. James Webb
Virginia Beach, VA
757-518-1674

For more information on why, visit NovaTownHall.

UPDATE: Both Senators Webb and Warner voted correctly (”no”) on a motion earlier today. Thank them for that vote, and urge them to vote “no” again this afternoon.

UPDATE 2:  Cloture failed, the bill is dead for now.

I couldn’t get through on Warner’s DC office number (I’ll bet his phone lines are burning up) so I called the Midlothian office and got right through. Warner should know me under my maiden name, which I pointed out, so I imagine my message will get to DC.

Couldn’t get through on Webb’s either, but got right through to a human, native (not recording) Virginian at his VA Beach office. I hope no one is using the recorded “leave a comment” option on his Washington number…it clearly says that they will be reviewed “at the end of the business day,” which will be AFTER the vote is taken.

I got through to Warren’s office. Keep calling.

Webb’s office in Virginia Beach is answering calls. The line for Warner’s office in DC is constantly busy (keep trying!) and you go to voicemail at the Midlothian office.

Webb’s staffers do appreciate the thanks for his voting correctly earlier today. Make sure you do that when you call.

The bill was withdrawn by Reid after the Senate voted 45 to 50 against limiting debate of the bill. He needed 60 votes in order to limit the debate. Of course the bill could come back at some point later in the year.

Best to keep up to speed on this. Don’t think for a minute that Bush, Reid and Kennedy are going to give up.
