Henry - are you stupid, intentionally trying to mislead the folks, or did you miss the dozen or so times that the issue of where I live has come up?

I live in southern Ffx, just a stone's throw from PW co line... for the geographically challenged here... I do live south of Falls Church, quite far south.....

Where I am I do worry about crime coming down toward me, form the North (not just Falls Church , but Washington DC too).

Was that not really clear to you or were you merely looking to attack me (yet again)?

"Boy, I hope those problems don’t find their way down south toward us." [IP]

You don't even live here - and I wish you would quit being so opportunistic , as some put it "hijacking" these comment threads - some people are truely intrested in the topics
but tire of your constant dribble about your boy - I hop Mr L kicks you off

I don't know how closely you followed the story about the firefighter that died recently in Woodbridge but this young American hero didn't need to die.

When firefighters arrived on the scene of the fire, there was no one there that could speak English. The young firefighter was somehow led to believe that the Grandmother may have been trapped in her room in the basement. With the house practically engulfed in flames, he ran into the home to rescue her. A gust of wind blew causing the fire to swell and in an instant the roof collapsed killing the firefighter. It turned out the Grandmother was at a neighbors having coffee that morning.

There are illegals who live in homes that have bunk beds in the living room, outdoor sheds and pods with extension cords for additional housing, and homes that on the inside have been converted to 4 or 5 unit apartments. The renovations are done without proper permits and inspections. Chairman Connaughton was deeply troubled by this, he said until there is a fire, they have no way to know about it and no way to intervene. Now an innocent life as been taken.

Patty,
I too believe only Wally Covington is lookinig out for those of us who live in the Gainesville District. It was Mr. Covington, who said we need further discussion on illegal matter. I left you a message under FUROR IN FAIRFAX.
I work in several different Courthouses in our area. I was stunned when I asked a Deputy for Arlington, what was their policy was? He said both the Police and Sheriff Departments, feel that it's not their problem, it's a Federal problem. The Deputy told be they use to be able to ask for immigration papers or other documentation, during traffic stops. We all know Fairfax County's still in denial.

Unfortunately, even in Lakeridge we have had our fair share of problems. There have been bank robberies at different locations on Old Bridge road, prostitution rings which probably had illegal human traffic and illegal aliens, drug dealers with pit bulls in certain rough neighborhoods in Lakeridge.

We have had pit bull dog attacks which have killed some other dogs. About the only defense against a pit bull is a large hand gun. It would be ashame if we have to walk through our neighborhoods armed because of a few.

I have not seen the gangs yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if this started to happen.

Boy, I hope those problems don't find their way down south toward us.

Hope the politicians and law enforcement don't wait until we are knee-deep in gang tagging, locked in our houses or watching property values go down before action is taken.

May seemed to be supporting Julie Lucas early on and seemed to be allied with Jeff Frederick. I would hope he is tough on immigration. At least he better be tough on immigration.

I moved out of Falls Church to get away from the menacing illegals hanging out. You almost have to carry a gun at certain locations. Once I heard some gang members bragging at a restaurant about drive by shootings they had done.

And of course most of the 911 conspirators got their start in Falls Church by getting fake drivers licences at the local 7 11 parking lot on Leesburg Pike.

I don't know about May but Stewart seems interested in doing something about the situation. Wally Covington really wants to do something about illegals. He seems to be the most vocal about wanting to do something. Just watch the Board meetings that are broadcast on channel 23.

Don't ask about Stirrup. As far as it seems to me he doesn't appear to want to do anything. How do you think 10131 Lomond Drive happened? I saw that a number of people who addressed the Board about illegal aliens live in Stirrups district.

Best thing to do is call the supervisors and ask them.

Seems like the perfect kind of issue where if there were JUST one leader from the law enforcement community who would be willing to stand up and be counted, a person around whom others could rally, a leader who through the clout of his 'office' could command local media attention and talk as "political equal" to the other elected officials who set policy things would be so much bettter... To bad there isn't someone like that.

But wait, I seem to recall that there is this fella running for the Office of Sheriff in Prince William County and even before he was a candidate he was engaged in this issue.

I also recall some news stories about how this candidate has been attending grassroots meetings with like-minded folks in the county to discuss this issue and what to about it . This guy has even joined up with those in HSM who are already into the political fight.

The candidate's name is James J. Fotis and he is running for Sheriff in this Tuesday's primary (June 12th).

Some think that voter turn out will be very low and so this seems to be a GREAT opportunity for those County voters who care deeply about this core conservative issue could send a really strong message with their vote.

Maybe it is time for a change....

Where do the Republican Supervisors stand? Lets us know if they get soft on illegal immigration.

How are Stewart and Mike May on this issue?
