Does it matter who takes over the RPV? What have they ever did for PWC? The onlt time I hear from them is when they are asking for money.

James, Loudoun Insider is right on target. The general concensus is even Conservatives will distance themselves from their own if integrity is in question. On a local level many agree they would rather have a good Democrat / Independent than a bad Republican. Our local conservative GOP's have no one to blame but themselves. No need to name names for you, is there?

James, I want conservatives to be successful, but only while exercising the utmost integrity. The ends do not justify the means. Go back and re-read all of the posts on the 51st HOD and LCRC Conventions with an open mind (doubtful this is possible) and tell me that the actions of the local units were principled conservative actions.

That's some wonderful rationalizing, "Loudmouthed Inciter." When Conservatives are successful, blame Dems in disarray. I guess you'll always have an excuse that sounds good among the Country Club set.

I heard he had spoken with Tate and shortly afterwards decided RPV had more problems then he cared to deal with and upon voicing his dissatisfaction with the situation was offered a position with the Bush Administration. Done deal as of a week ago Thursday.

It does look like Faisal Gill may be the candidate to over-marginalize the GOP.

If you're Gillespie and two of your first controversies are the 51st HOD Convention and the LCRC Convention, would you want to stick around? Does he see the future better than the Puritans and wants to get out before the bottom drops out? As long as the Puritans control the GOP nominating processes and ignore the vast majority of voters, they will continue to lose in NoVA. Of course this is only true if (and it is obviously a big if - see Bruce Roemmelt and Jeff Dion) the Dems control their own fringe elements and capture the center. The Loudoun Dems have got the message and will likely obliterate the LCRC this fall. Fortunately for PWC the Dems are more marginalized than the Puritan-led GOP.

I was always dubious about Gillespie. Why would someone go from National Chairman to a state party Chairman? Of course, NLW is half-right: the former half.

This is a mixed blessing---if it occurs. Gillespie has shown the potential to be a fundraiser and attract national names that would represent progress. Conversely, his staff selection and continued endorsement of the Norquist agenda will not help, especially in swing districts.

Hey Ed, thanks for all the hard work! Fortunately, there are no important elections this year, right?
