New Documentation For Illegal Aliens

By Greg L | 1 July 2007 | Illegal Aliens, Prince William County | 19 Comments

In case there was any doubt that there are a lot of illegal aliens in Prince William County, the Manassas Journal-Messenger points out that about 700 Mexican citizens attended an event held by the Mexican consulate this Saturday in which they could apply for the documents that would have been required for their entry into the United States had they entered legally. Apparently, the Mexican government denies passports or “Matricula Consular” cards to those with a criminal record (as if citizenship is dependent on such things) and is able to conduct a thorough background check in minutes which allows them to continue to deny their own citizens of recognition as citizens if they have a criminal record. Becoming “stateless” has never before been so easy.

This is just so bizarre on so many levels. Although it might seem like a good public relations concept to deny Mexican citizens in Prince William County documentation of their actual citizenship on the basis of their criminal records, it has the effect of exporting their criminal element to the United States and stripping them of any opportunity to repatriate themselves back to Mexico should they decide to do so. Becoming a “stateless person” is a big deal, since it means you have no access to consular officials, no government is required to accept you if deported, and you have no legal status anywhere in the world. The United Nations regularly wrestles with this issue in regards to refugees from some violence-torn countries, and the plight of these people is absolutely tragic.

Given that the requirements for obtaining a “Matricula Consular” are so weak and prone to corruption and fraud (one American citizen obtained three of these under false names), it’s unlikely that too many Mexican citizens are going to get caught in this trap however, which is either somewhat reassuring or deeply disturbing. The “Matricula Consular” card is accepted by a number of businesses such as Bank of America, so now a good number of illegal aliens in Prince William County will find it a little easier to remain in the United States despite their unlawful status. The MJM seems thrilled by this, from the tone of the article.

Are we a great nation or what? The consulate of a foreign nation actively tries to assist in the subversion of our laws, and not only do we tolerate it, but the local press celebrates it.

The fact that this event was held at the NVCC campus, also begs the following question: Why are State facilities being used to provide documents to obviously illegal aliens? If someone is in this country legally, they would have the legal documents required for entry into the US, and the US legal documents issued by ICE, to remain in this country.

Hell, why not just use the BOCS chambers?

Well, it’s just more evidence of the “red carpet” being rolled out for illegals, and making PWC more inviting for the illegals. How much more of this sort of nonsense can PWC and the 2cities take??
Everyone I’ve talked to found this aricle sickening, as they should. We should see some letters to the Editor on this bull.

This is disgusting. Using a tax payer funded facility to further criminal activity. Of course the ironic thing is there are many banks in Mexico that will not even accept the Matricula Consular because of security concerns over fraud. Yet, we have banks tripping over themselves in order to accept it.

I wonder if Bank of America(Bank of illegal aliens), will accept this “Matricula Consular”, when they apply for credit cards. Yes, that’s right credit cards!! This was on the news and the papers a few months ago. They really should consider renaming themselves. These banks that welcome illegal’s business, don’t deserve the legal citizens’ business.

You probably would want to find a different bank, if the credit cards are defaulted on at the same rate as the mortgages are, the bank won’t last long.

People typically pay their mortgage first, utilities, insurance, and then the credit card is last thing to get paid, when times are tough. I think it’s safe to say the credit card defaults rate will be much worse than the mortgages are and getting worse every single day. These banks help make the “red carpet” a little plusher, in my opinion. We the legal citizens should limit our dealings with these types of businesses. I say if these businesses insist on doing accomodating the illegals, we should take our business elsewhere. Just a thought.

I whole-heartedly agree, Lafayette! And the rest of the businesses that are suspect.

correction - and we should take our business elsewhere from “the rest” that are suspected of hiring or owned by or catering to illegals.

I’ve been avoiding Bank of America for years, for reasons unrelated to their stance on immigration. I avoid Citibank for other reasons relating to gun control.

Those two are, apparently, the #1 and #3 largest banks in the country. If BoA is going down, it’s going to take a while.

I quit conducting busines with both of those banks in 1990, also for other reasons. These types of dealings with illegals, only reinforces my reasons for not doing business with them BoA and Suntrust and other busines that do the same types of things. Just like Circuit City, firing people because the made too much money only to be replaced BY cheap labor(I doubt they’re all LEGAL).

Could someone please explain how the Mexican government can issue passports to illegals that have already arrived in America? A passprt is used by many institutions as a LEGAL form of I.D.

I also find it interesting that they can manage to hand these passports out the same day they are applied for.

Also can the Mexican government access U.S. data bases to see if the illegals they helped get I.D. are not criminals in this country? I sincerely doubt it.

ICE - if ANYONE at ICE is reading this, this particular blog gave me a great idea. A few years ago the DC police did the BEST undercover bust ever!!! They contacted various drug dealers/lowlifes and informed them that they won Redskin tickets then, after all were in this hotel convention room, the police STORMED in and busted all of them for bail jumping, etc. It was on the news (I saw it on Channel 9) and the newscasters were all howling with laughter.

ICE should take a page from this playbook and “offer passports” to illegals and then after they all show up, take them to a paddywagon and then provide them on-the-spot one way tickets to some Central American Country. Does not matter where, just drop them there. And if they have families here stateside? Too bad so sad, they should have thought about that PRIOR to being illegals.

I remember that, boy those so called “winners” were completely caught off guard!! Thanks for that walke down memory lane. These type of tactics work at least they did in the District, so why not with those violating our immigration laws? EXCELLENT IDEA!!

The Mexican government is handing these out so readily because they know with the amnesty bill defeated and real ID, IMAGE and the 287 G program coming on rapidly that they are going to start getting these people back, and they don’t want them. They encourage their poor to jump the borders and to stay here.

“MEXICANS GET DOCUMENTS”, SATURDAY, JULY 1,2007,MJM

“About 700 obtain passports, consulate IDs as embassy holds Manassas event”.

A few comments. The actual count of ‘how many’ attended was not given in the article. Nor was any count of those ‘turned away’ for any possible reasons, one being criminal record. If that is an ‘actual’ number and not an inflated media hype, as the article further commented according to consul Enrique Escorza, “Manassas is back on the embassys map” and “To the community this is of great value. These people have the means to prove who they are.” “The community can have peace of mind that this confirms they do not have criminal backgrounds.”

Contrary Senor Consul. They crossed the border without permission. That was the first step in becoming a criminal. And what don’t you understand about the WORD ILLEGAL???

Where is the outcry towards the Northern Virginia Community College, Manassas campus, that made a make-shift ‘embassy’ and cattled illegal aliens through a process our own government can’t get right and do background checks and passport them all in one afternoon!! How charitable.

It proves something. It IS possible to check people out at entry and out at exit in a fast-track mode. And the tax dollar is a rubber stamp to be used whenever and by whomever and for whatever. Wonder if this could be the new model for immigration reform? More of the same………..the don’t ask, don’t tell method.

If I had kids enrolled in this college, I’d unenroll and take my education business elsewhere.
