I'd like to say this, John J. or Hilda sure shouldn't be BOASTING about the length of time they've "served" the county. If they'd done half of what the county needs, I would understand their pride of service all those years. A twenty year plus investment, should've yielded better results. I feel these two have cost the county quite abit at this point, not mention the legal citizens' quality of life. ENOUGH!!!

Nice work Lafayette! As you know, this is a ticking time bomb. With all the foreclosures in the 22191 and 22193 zip codes it's only a matter of time before real estate investors start buying up foreclosures at auctions and turning them into rental properties. There is a history of investors subdividing homes without proper permitting or zoning and converting them to multi-family dwellings for financial gain.

This is a horrible time for Prince William to be perceived as a sanctuary for housing illegal aliens. Eastern Prince William is at risk of becoming a slum lord’s heaven under these conditions.

I’m glad you spoke to Maureen Caddigan, and look forward to you speaking to Mike May about this. Dale City-Jenkins (22193) and Woodbridge-Barg (22191) are sandwiched in between Lake Ridge (May) and Montclair (Caddigan) and we really need their support to get Stirrups resolution passed on Tuesday.

We need to send a “We won’t tolerate it in PWC” message to illegal’s AND to sleazy real estate investors who could care less about the welfare and safety of our community. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

Bryanna,
UPDATE: Well, I had a nice talk with Wally yesterday. He certainly seems to be a YES. He understands and he's got the least problems with illegals in his district. I truly appreciated his time and thank you very much Wally.
Meanwhile, down at the eastern end of the county, the "Illegal Welcome Wagon", co-chaired by John J. and Hilda, are resistant to move foward and protect and serve the legal citizens that pay them. This "Illegal Welcome Wagon", rolls down the "red carpet"covered streets of PW for illegals. Well, thank God, Hilda can go sleep at home when her term is up. As, for John J., this man has served our county for 25 years, why doesn't anyone take a stab at running against him? He told me his legal citizens are leaving and going to the western end, and still call him as if he were their Supervisor. I think he should give them Stirrup's office's phone number. Well, I'm a Gainesville district resident, he sure didn't want to listen to me, he controlled the conversation and talked down to me. What a bully. Where's the no tolorance policy on bullying for the Board of Supervisors? The School Board has this policy for students.
park'd
Thank you, for seeing beyond the Park and thinking of us in PW. Well, this is how a community thrives, working together. Let's not forget the individual who didn't think I should AWC about voting registration in the Park, because we live in the county?

I haven't caught John, sleeping. I didn't say earlier, he's truck was't there when I arrived, I heard him come in the back door, and when I left his BIG OLE TRUCK was there.Hmmmmm... I've seen Hilda, sleep at the very least a dozen times in my four visits to PWCBOS, and that's in just since June 5, 2007. These cat naps, are during Citizen's time, when she should be the most alert. We the LEGAL CITIZENS also pay her salary!

I worked with John Jenkins for 3 years at his old day job before he retired and I can tell you that all he did at every meeting that I happened to be in with him was sleep. It was almost a joke around there that you would look over and see John asleep for the entire meeting. Doesn't look like he has changed much.

He is a very large man and uses his natural size to intimidate people. It's time that we intimidated him. Perhaps we need to get a group of us over there to have a little chat with John and remind him of who he works for, and no John, I don't mean the developers and corporate lackeys...

Bryanna and all
I've emailed and called all Supervisor's offices. I got a call back from Supervisor Caddigan, she spoke with me for about 15 minutes, I felt she was in support of the resolution, however she expressed concern about the input from HSM and that she hadn't heard anything about this until presented by Mr. Stirrup, until last week. I went to Supervisor Covington's office on Monday, to talk to him, his Aide offered me an appointment after July 10th, I told her then, I would just like to speak with him on phone. He came in his office as I was speaking to his Aide, he looked taken back to see me in his office. I saw him just a little while ago in the PW Courhouse-land records, he did a double take when he saw me, I looked his way, he couldn't avoid seeing me, I was on the phone at the time, and he quickly left the record room. I've stated several times at PWCBOS meetings, that I'm a title examiner in PW. I have to ask myself, will I get a return call from Wally? I stopped by Supervisors Nohe and Jenkins offices on Tuesday, Mr. Jenkins, aslo too busy for appointment, he returned my call within hours. I wasn't here when he called. Well, I'd like to say I spoke to him today, however, it was him talking to me. He had some very harsh words regarding the proposal. I will tell ya'll this much of the conversation, I told him that they are elected by the their districts, however, they all must for the good of the entire county. His response was this quite loudly"You think, I don't know that!!I've been serving the county for 25 years! This type of attitude is appauling to me, the taxpayer paying a portion of his part-time salary. Mr. Nohe has a baby on the way, he might not call me back, his Aide was very helpful, understanding and took notes of what I was saying. I called, Mr.May's office today, he was out, I talked to his Aide for about 10 minutes, anyways, within a half an hour, I heard back from his Aide, he said Mr. May, would really like to talk to me about concerns, could please call back Monday. I will do this. Well, I won't even talk about one Aide, that flat out lied to my face, oddly regarding a small church in the county. I'll save the total BULL, for another time. I've been here my whole life, and my family has been in PW, for over 65 years, I know alot of history about this county. So when I am lied to and know for a fact it's a lie. I began to talk to some former church members, who have lived here 60-90years, I confirmed this to be a definate lie. What is with some of these folks, how can you hold a public office, and not want listen to the public, is way beyond me. It's very clear to me these folks, aren't used to taxpayers in their offices and frankly, I think it makes them a little uncomfortable. Well, that's just too damn bad!!

Our family had a great time too. We usually watch from our home, but decided to head into Old Town for something different. I have to say, it was pretty awesome watching the fire works from up close. We were lucky that we were sitting next to the Mayor, and so I was able to have a pretty decent conversation with him. Talk about the small town feel...

I did run into Jeanette while she was out lying to the folks. She really is out of touch with illegal immigration. She had no answer when I told her when we first moved into Wellington it was advertised as a "sought after community", and that is not longer the case thanks to illegals and overcrowding. I told her if she insists on using quality of life as a campaign issue, she best start to address illegal aliens and the negative impact they have on our community.

She said her opponent was misleading people about her support of illegals. I said the perception was that she did support them, and that if that was not the case, she had to do a better job of speaking out against illegals. She said the only way she has supported illegals is to provide them with coats etc under her "faith", I countered there are plenty of people in our area that are not illegal that need aid, and those are the folks I attempt to help out.
I asked about why she spoke out against the City's attempt to combat overcrowding, and she said it was a bad ordnance based on the fact the City had to set aside money for legal action. I said well at least they attempted to do something, and Cities always have a fund for legal action, I asked her again why it was bad, and she could not answer me. She said it would have had unattended consequences, but could not provide any to back her opinion. At that point, "Nice" Jeanette turned pretty sour and stormed off saying she had other people to talk to. Also funny was the "lap dogs" who followed her around.

I bet at one point half the people who were standing in line at the Dems booth were illegal. I guess the old saying is correct, birds of a feather flock together.

This type of bi-partisan cooperation is a great way for voters to educate themselves on the issues direct from the source rather than the media. Once a supervisor is elected they represent voters across all party lines that live in their district.

My husband and I sent an email to all the BOCS asking them to support Supervisor Stirrups resolution. Chairman Corey Stewart responded immediately but our Coles Supervisor Marty Nohe has not.

We need your help. Please email all our county supervisors and encourage them to vote yes for this resolution. It is critical that we are able to get John and Corey the support needed to get this resolution passed next Tuesday.

Our supervisors are hired by us at election time and should work to represent their constituents interests and not act on their own opinion, or the opinion of developers. This is not a game of political football to be used for personal or professional gain, or to try and make others on the board look like lame ducks.

I've heard indirectly that Supervisors Caddigan and Covington will probably support it, can anyone confirm this? What about May and Nohe?

2-yes (Stirrup, Stewart)
2-probably (Caddigan, Covington)
2-no (Jenkins and Barg)
2-unknown (May and Nohe)

I’ve heard indirectly that Supervisors Caddigan and Covington will probably support it, can anyone confirm this? What about May and Nohe?

2-yes (Stirrup, Stewart)
2-probably (Caddigan, Covington)
2-no (Jenkins and Barg)
2-unknown (May and Nohe)

I thought is was pretty low-class for the Manassas Democrat Committee to position their clown/balloon art draw in such a way as the line blocked access into "Democracy Square". Then again, Democrats only like "democracy" when they get to dominate the debate. Instead of allowing free access to the booths of groups who's viewpoints are in opposition to theirs, they try to impede access. I guess they know that when it comes to debate and the free exchange of ideas. they will come up short, and resort to dirty tricks.

When I walked by the HSM booth, I saw the tote board at over 100 new members. Further proof that illegal immigration will be the #1 issue in the coming election cycle, and that Jennette Rishell's views on the issue are so far out of the mainstream that it is scary. Her work for Unity in the Community, support of the Woodbridge Workers Party, and nonsensical idea for a "livability court" are reason enough not to vote for her. Throw in her desire to establish universal pre-k, and send limited NoVA transportation dollars south to the Norfolk area for "hurricane evacuation routes" demonstrate that she is nothing more than a tax-and-spend liberal.

It was a great 4th, and inspite of the Dems dirty little trick, it exemplifies why you can still find real America in a small city like Manassas. I am glad the political and advocacy groups will now be allowed space at HMI events. I stopped by the CASA table (Court Appointed Special Advocates). This looks like a great organization, helping look out for the legal interests of children involved in family court proceedings.

The city had a fantastic fireworks display!! I watched the fireworks, and thought to myself how proud I was to be an AMERICAN. My husband, and kids, said the were the "best fireworks they'd ever seen". I told them this was the spirit(patriotic) around here everyday, when I was growing up. It breaks my heart, to see what has become, of our once "All American" community. Thanks to the City of Manassas, for a great Independence Day celebration and reminder of what our great community(PWC, Manassas, and Manassas Park), used to be like. Way to go HSM, glad to see the number of members is growing, thank you and keep it up. God bless America!!
