I checked them out earlier. How long has that 3/4 car garage been out back? I think this is what they got zoning approval for. The only reason they went to zoning is because Sr. Chavez is following up on the "clean sweep" violations that started in mid March.

Patty,
It might be a garage. They could park some of those vans in it.

Lafayette,

A single detached addition? Could it be a tool shed or could it be another "house"? I'm watching it too. I'll let you know if my insider gives any more info.

Patty,
Update: They have gotten Zoning Approval only, for a single detached addition. No Building Permit which is needed to construct this addition. I know alot of folks are now watching this freshly painted brick house.

Oh. My. God. I've only gotten halfway through this thread this time --

Could you all PLEASE edit and proofread your posts?

Please?

Punctuation, grammar, and spelling are your friends.

Some of these posts are darn near unintelligible and it leaves a reader with the impression that we are ignorant.

I've virtually given up reading some of these threads because I can hardly get through them.

We are intelligent, passionate people. Let's start looking like it.

I am sorry if this comes off as insulting, but I am frustruated and after months of struggling through these threads, I've just about given up.

Oh yeah, I have the name of the painting company and pictures of the dozen or so vans. They've not filed a ficticious name w/PWC Circuit Court, 2 phone lines for the house(different names and not the cell#on the side of the vans),boat on trailer on street w/Caroline County sticker. The boat trailer is allowed on the street. Yeah, I know I can call ICE. Call me, we can chat about that.

The presentation by Gerhardt is based on a cursory survey of what department officials told him, and doesn't fully reflect what agencies are actually doing. It may take some time to determine exactly what's happening, and with the August break it's really not an unrealistic time period to set all of this up.

It's probably going to take some time to vet the legal report by Ross Horton, the county attorney, with other legal organizations so we can ensure that the supervisors get a good picture of what the legal landscape looks like in the implementation details. It's not always possible to get our folks from the Immigration Reform Law Institute and Judicial Watch to rapidly turn around a legal brief, and having the time to get this right is pretty responsible.

It's longer than what we would hope for, but it's a fairly realistic maximum limit. Could it be done in a shorter time frame? Yes, probably. It's still going to get done however, and it will get done pretty soon. We may have to wait a month or two more than we might like, but as Mike Heathmon of the Immigration Reform Law Institute advises, "legislate in haste, litigate at leisure". Taking time to get this right is pretty responsible, and will yield some really important benefits.

Waiting 90 days is ridiculous. Most of the information was already presented in the power point yesterday. Members of the BOCS could have read it during the break in August and been ready to vote in September.

I know Marty has a lot on his plate with a new baby and NVTA, but the rest of the BOCS could have done the bulk of the work. It's a shame to have let this sit for 90 days. It's more time for people to sit and stew over it. When some of what they're getting worked up about it's going to be an issue.l

Another reason to have acted sooner is to identify problematic aspects of enforcement due to restrictions or limitations resulting from the Dillon Rule. JS needs time to team up with the County Lobbyist DF, and our Delegates to hammer them in Richmond for supportive legislation. While we're at it, perhaps it's time to reform the Dillon Rule. I'd be curious to know what BM, JM, JF think about that.

We need to get this done down state ASAP, so we can advance this with our Congressman for the 2008 election cycle.

The Swift meat pacvking plant was raided again and 19 people were arrested.

Maybe it's time to shut them down or fine them outrageously. Isn’t this the third raid that ICE has found illegal’s working there? A statement needs to be made here. The practice of hiring illegal’s will not be tolerated anymore.

Maybe we need to call our Congressmen and Senators about this. Let them know they absolutely have got to do something here.

Do you have the name of the painting company? Do you know you can call ICE yourself and report illegal aliens? I don't know if they will come out, but I suspect if they get enough complaints they will.

Lafayette,

Thanks for stopping by. I'll let you know as soon as I find out more but that is really all I know for now. Its amazing what this person wants to talk about.

I'm working on calling property code on a couple of properties that are looking run down and possibly overcrowded. I'll let you know how that goes.

Let's hope there are no more 10131 Lomond Drives in the works.

Patty
Say it isn't so! They've had a 20 workers there each to get the house painted. That's real nice, we have now have two painted brick houses on Lafayette. Well, I'll be calling PWC, in the morning, to find out if they have gotten permits. I want this expansion creep on to this block. I'll being passing this warning on to our favorite Property Code Enforcement Inspector. He's been real busy around here. Just about a two weeks ago, he had 18 houses to check out here, in Westgate and Sudley. They make me mad enough with their 15 work vans, with their painting business on the side of them. We can NOT have another, 10131 Lomond Drive drive on my block. Somehow, I bet your source is right, they usually are with their scoops.
Thanks for the 411!!!!!!!
Any idea when this third level is to be erected????????

I'm sorry Greg that I didn't get to hear you this a.m. I had to go somewhere. I'm sure you did a fine job.

Attention Lafayette: I have some inside information that a certain person on Lafayette (who just painted their brick house white) is planning on adding another level to his house. I'm not sure how reliable this inside info is but I figure you better keep your eyes wide open. Let me know if you get this message

Lafayette...I hear ya. Well, I am proud of Fairfax even though it KILLED me when she voted against Ollie. I was at Ft. Benning going thru the Infantry Officer's Basic Course at the time but following the race on CNN.

Neat thing, though, is that my boys are now attending the same schools I went to (Washington Irving Intermediate and West Springfield High School). WSHS has some pretty good alumni, if I do say so myself :-)

Well, you haven't been gone that long. I hope FCBOS, follows suit. Prince William County was and still is a great place!!
There are some on here(bvbl), that don't like to admit they're from Fairfax or Loudoun, nor do they like being asked. I don't know why. Hmmm...Interested Party(Ms. or Mr "stones throw away"), comes to mind right away!!
