Why should anyone be surprised when the MSM does a hatchet job on a conservative? But for talk radio, Fox News and Drudge, the MSM is a mouthpiece for the left. And now the left has set its sights on silencing the first of these by reviving the "Fairness Doctrine." Granted it's not likely to happen until, and unless, democrats take the White House in 08. But once that occurs I think it's a safe bet that we'll see this legislation brought back from the grave. The left's understanding of freedom extends no further than removing the strictures of conventional morality; liberating people from right and wrong. Apart from that, they haven't a clue about creating or maintaining a free society which explains why leftist regimes the world over are devoid of freedom. The left will stand for the First Amendment when it comes to polluting the airwaves with profanity and porn, but not when it comes to allowing for the free exchange of ideas - particularly those they disagree with.

I saw it on the Spanish news Friday evening. One comment that was made by an Hispanic was "Forget Prince William County, there's something sneaky and dirty going on here." The chief of police looked and sounded like he was defending the department for their presence at the raid. They also showed a group of violently angry people trying to interfere with someone in a blue vehicle. By that point I was so angry and talking to my husband that I didn't listen to everything and didn't know what they were doing. There was absolutely no understanding that the owners had committed a serious crime. I understood more than ever now that there are those who feel they don't have to follow the laws of this land they call North America.

Has anyone followed the story in Montgomery County where the feds and county police raided a restaurant supposedly employing illegals and evading taxes, then a mob interfered with the cops seizing a vehicle? The story in the WaPo today about was a big sob story about people not being able to get their favorite chicken. And speaking of chickens there was another story on people having chickens as pets in suburbia.

Greg, stick to your guns!

An interesting piece in today's WaPo - including:
"But tolerance is running low these days among
jittery Prince William residents who say they see too
many houses for sale, too many foreclosures, and
too many unkempt yards for their liking." Article is
mainly about chickens showing up around communities -
guess they are coming home to roost.

FYI: Tomorrow's WaPo has a story by Marc Fisher
featuring blogger Craig Vitter on his views and a
good letter to the editor by John Stirrup.

Greg, good job keeping your composure - sadly,
most of the main stream media just wants a simple
sound bite to illustrate an already established
opinion - that we are ignorant, heartless and racist bigots.
You didn't play your part and they got mad.

Corey Stewart was on Lou Dobbs last evening in the 6PM broadcast and did a great job. I don't know if they're going to follow up or not, but I hope they do.

Greg,

This was a classic case of media manipulation. They attempt to draw you in by being nice, to be non biased, and in some cases even sympathetic to your point of view, which was most likely the case the other day. Now, they follow up after they believe they have gained your trust and boom, they appear to be completely different from before. They realize without some sort of controversy, the story, any story, just is not going to get the ratings or be interesting enough to keep the viewer.

Damn straight the opposition is worried. Just remember the opposition is not the illegals who are just pawns in this game. The opposition are the political groups who thought amnesty would be granted and we're salivating over their potential voting block and another excuse to take money away from hard-working Americans and give it to others (after exacting their commission). This is a good sign. We're smoking them out.
