For some reason I thought about a car being stuck in park. It needs some repairs to start working again, just like Manassas Park.

Park'd --

Do not underestimate the momentum that is building.

As i've said in another post, Manassas City also has been brought kicking and screaming to the table and it's been many, many years of CONSTANT complaining that has gotten us on the road to change.

Yes, we still have more work to do, but anything worth having is worth fighting and working for.

If you think things will be different elsewhere, think again. For pete's sake, this problem is outta control nationwide!!

At least here, you've got a many many other likeminded folks -- even in the park i'll bet -- who agree with you and are coming together to take back our communities, OUR country!

Now that we have Greg L. and Help Save Manassas working for us, we'd be crazy to jump overboard and start from square 1 elsewhere!!!

Don't despair!! Stand and FIGHT!!

More info from thedustininmansociety:

"Take photos at day labor pick-up locations!
Record tag numbers of contractors picking up and hiring illegal day labor... send the information to the federal authorities. It helps, really.

Note the careful enforcement of the laws and court rulings that benefit and encourage illegal aliens. For example, two of those laws are listed below.

Plyler vs. Doe - a 1982 U.S. Supreme Court decision that grants a taxpayer funded government education for illegal aliens... grades K-12. Georgia taxpayers are supporting the education of illegal alien children…in two languages.

By contrast, here is federal law USC Title 8, 1623 which clearly states that illegal aliens may not receive "in-state" college tuition rates unless all students receive that same rate. A law that is routinely and officially violated in several states…including some schools in Georgia.

Also, see: DREAM ACT."

Check out www.thedustininmansociety.com which was instrumental in changing Georgia's laws July 1st. Among the things we can do:

"Report criminal employers to the IRS!...get a reward!
We love this one. The Internal Revenue Service takes a dim view of employers paying their illegal labor in un-reported cash. That agency offers rewards for information that leads to the collection of federal income taxes that are not paid on these wages.

Many landscape and construction contractors withdraw large sums of cash each week to pay the labor responsible for lowering American wages. They then depend on your tax dollar to provide social services for the worker.

Here is a downloadable IRS form to report tax cheats who hire illegal aliens…have fun. We do. Best part? There is a possibility of the criminal employer going to prison."

Two councilmen initially spoke rather encouragingly, indicating that they were thinking of crafting legislation that would align with PWC, but due to their limited ability to fund big lawsuits, they were watching carefully to see what the legal fallout would be first. A bit of a wimpy approach to protecting your citizenry but at least it seemed they were going in the right direction.

Then Treuting and the Mayor, seeing the direction that this was going, went 180 degrees the other way and threw it all on Richmond. They defended the Park as a state leader in the fight against gang crime ("deter, detain, deport") and as a victim of inactivity at the state level. The mayor reminded us that we live in a Dillon rule state and that we would do well to put more pressure on our state and federal reps.

Fortunately, John Stirrup and Corey Stewart don't share that mindset.

Anonymous, they are neither conservative NOR liberal...that would presuppose that they were capable of principle at some level. They are purely indulgent, self-interested politicians who have had a good thing going for a long time.

It's hardly surprising that the Park Council is claiming a secret plan ("...the city is quietly taking strong action to combat the presence of illegal aliens...") to combat the illegal alien problem...and that they believe the public is stupid enough to believe anything they tell them (what arrogance!). Time and time again they have taken this approach in the Rack N' Roll situation. If they keep underestimating the public, they are liable to find themselves "girlfriends" of someone called Bubba (or something equally charming) in a "Club" Fed somewhere within the foreseeable future. Providing "aid and comfort" to an element in the community, many of whom are part of their police department's "CI/drug dealer network," which means that they are part of MP's drug culture, will come home to roost much more quickly if they continue to ignore the citizen's complaints.

My favorite part was when Bryan Polk said that MP doesn't have "deep pockets" to fend off lawsuits.

You don't? You sure spend money like you do.

By the way, did Bryan Polk vote to raise taxes at the NVTA meeting? He's up in 2008, along with the mayor.

In fact..all but two of the seven city council members are up for re-election in 2008. Think about that. All but Kassinger and Bunner. Treuting and Miller were appointed, so they're up for election at the next city council election which is in 2008. Gardner, Polk, and Jones are up for re-election.

This is a golden opportunity right here. We need to identify 5 people to run against Gardner, Polk, Jones, Treuting, and Miller. Then either Kassinger and Bunner get on board or get dumped in 2010.

Patty, Several lobbying organizations that back illegals are already well established ... and some even receive government funding for some of their programs! La Raza and Casa de Maryland are two good examples of well-funded, active groups that DO hold sway. Sad but true.

I just sigh when I think about the park and the fact that I am stuck in this town now that the real estate market has tanked. Maybe if I am lucky all the illegals will flock here when everywhere else has run them out and then maybe I can sell my house and move out of this area for good. Come on over here to the park illegals, we love you here and I have a house to sell you so that you can be with all your ilk and live in peace without fear of reprisal from the elected officials. The first offer of 300K or higher and I am burning tires out of this area for good and never looking back. I wouldn't wish this Tijuana fleabag town on anyone.

My mom called to tell me about Loudoun County's decision. She lives in Fairfax. She hopes the same will happen in her county. Of course that county will take a lot of work. I'm hoping Faquier and Stafford will follow. Maybe this will work its way down to Richmond.

NBC4 reported that the illegals are trying to form their own lobby organizations. Can you imagine foreigners trying to sway our elected officials. Lets make sure that our elected officials know that they are responsible to us, the citizens.

Keep calling. Keep agitating. Don't give up!!! We've just begun.
