Did anyone read what FitzSimmonds "immigration policy" says? Virtually nothing. I think some of you folks would vote for a three-legged porcupine if it called itself an "anti-illegal immigration" candidate and blew a few buzzwords in your ears.

From the tone of BVBL contributors, Mr Fitzsimmonds had best hope he has support of a whole lot of voters from somewhere else....Karachi, perhaps?

Medical transcription? That work has gone to India and Pakistan. In India a medical transcriptionist is typically a university graduate and works for a fraction of the cost of an American worker.

Is Fitzsimmons outsourcing? Does his transcription business even exist? If so how does he compete with outsourcers.

Like thirty-something, small law firm partner, four-kids Faisal Gill's $13,600 donation to Bolling, there is a lot of question as to how Gill and his supporters are making money. No one knows who Gill's clients are. It would be easy for someone who wanted to do so to pass Gill money in the form of unspecified legal fees.

Although your uninformed personal criticism is appreciated, could you also add comment on Senator Colgan's proposals regarding illegal aliens?

The blogs, that are new do not appear untill you post again, is unsettleing. Hey I grew up in the 80's. I went to school with the senators son. I live in the Irongate subdivision. Our board of directors are controlled by a paralegal who works for a property law firm. We have trash floating all around us but guess what? My complant is treated as one of your neighbors has a dirty yard!!!!!!! This is a subdivision with 266 tax payors at a value of 250,000 each. We have nobody to check it out. This is classic Prince Wiliam ineffectiveness at its best. The board is White people!!!! They look out for there landlord HOA dues as the minumum bottom line as a corporation. You guys living in gated piedmont can go to hell. How would you like your child going to the toilet in a trailor. Ther are 16 yes over 16 classroom trailors at westgate elementary. The school budget shows the school at 90% capacity . Guess what they are counting the trailors!!!!!!!!!!!Q The developers are in kahotz with the board in allocating funds for american born children. They go by what the builders propose to build, not what the birth rates are. I believe this is a form of blatent racism and classism. And they bitched because brentsville was going to get a few trailors for a highschool.

CONVA said on 26 Jul 2007 at 5:33 pm:

Fitz is part of the problem that resulted in the fiasco in the 51st. I am in his district, a firm conservative, and my vote for Colgan will be my first vote for a democrat. It won’t be my last, as I will vote against any and all that supported Faisal, that includes Boling.

I'm with you, CONVA! If a politician is so stupid or politically corrupt to support Faisal Gill in going after the Muslim block vote, you're unfortunately not smart enough to represent us in Richmond...no matter what your leanings on other issues are. End of story!

Electability says:
Bob FitzSimmonds has " No real business experience (again, that I have ever really heard. If he did I would think he would have it on his literature or his website)."

Bob FitzSimmonds' website (http://vote4bob.org/?page=biography) says:
"Bob and Debbie own and manage a medical transcription company. Prior to starting their own small business, Bob spent 13 years in branch management with NationsBank (now Bank of America)...During his tenure with NationsBank, Bob worked extensively with small business owners in business development and finance."

Electablity says:
Bob "has always been the anti-tax/anti-abortion candidate only."

Bob FitzSimmonds's website lists:
Issue statements on taxes, life, 2nd amendment rights, growth, education, and IMMIGRATION.

Senator Colgan's website lists:
[Nothing]

Perhaps you should check the actual sites before you comment.

Yes, Senator Colgan one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate. A quick review of what you get with that:

-Benefits for illegal aliens
-A proposed $3 hourly increase in the minimum wage
-A proposed 15 cents gasoline tax increase
-A vote for a pro-choice majority leader and chair of Education and Health

Senator Colgan is a nice man with bad policies. I didn't notice anyone saying Senator Colgan is not a nice man.

I did notice that again Senator Colgan's allies have failed to point to anything he is proposing to do about illegal aliens though.

People please, think about the candidate and that candidates experience.

I vote rebublican most of the time, but I always consider the candidate first.

Just look at the resume of each individual ;

Colgan - unfortunately a democrat, but probably the most conservative democrat in the senate.
War veteran.
Businessman who built one of the most successful businesses in Manassas. You cant beat his credentials on the business issues facing Virginia.
Active in many of our most important civic groups including the Knights of Columbus, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Finally (not that it should matter, but it simply does) the most senior senator in the Virginia Senate.

I dont always agree with him but simply put - A GREAT MAN.

Then you have Bob Fitzsimmonds. No resume to speak of outside of conservative (which I do like) political activism.

No military service (that I have ever heard).
No real business experience (again, that I have ever really heard. If he did I would think he would have it on his literature or his website).
Poor decision making - strongly backing Gill over the much more electable Lucas. Also backing horribly defective candidate Steve Chapman over Jackson Miller.

In the past I never heard Fitzsimmonds talk about illegal immigration. If he did I think he would have backed Lucas or Miller. He has always been the anti-tax/anti-abortion candidate only. I must agree with the earlier post - a Johnny-come-lately.

Since I'm not in the Colgan/Fitzsimmonds district and therefore can vote for neither of them, perhaps I should stay quiet. However, having seen the grinning Fitzsimmonds at Gill's kick-off and knowing that he supports Gill, despite Gill's association with bad characters, misuse of the Navy Reserve uniform and blatant disregard for traffic laws, Bob Fitzsimmonds should be taught a lesson...and it shouldn't be in politics.

I have finally figured out the "why" behind so many elected officials supporting Faisal Gill -- and you all know who they are. For a while, I thought it was simply Gill's money...as Bill Bolling said, "...he was there for me ($14K) and I'm here for him now..." but that's only a part of it. What's more important than campaign contribution?? Votes...and if you're running for office, guess what ya get for supporting Faisal Gill? You guessed it, a huge "block vote." Isn't the underbelly of politics wonderful? :(
