Liz, thank you for letting us know about your alma mater. It appears to have a very solid curriculum. The first college that popped up when I googled the name was NOT your university. I hope I made the correction plain.

It actually looks like a fun place to get an education. Plenty of sunshine, no shoveling snow……good academics.

I am a graduate of Both Florida International University and Nova SouthEastern University, with undergraduate work done at Barry University (College at the time)

Nova Southeastern University is one of the few schools in South Florida that is recognized abroad and wherefrom you can carry a degree that is recognized in both Germany and England.

As far as curriculum , I don’t know now, but when I went there you could take just about any course you wanted and they were one of the few Universities that had a valid computer programs back in 1981 and 1982, where most other schools were still teaching basic as the only course for computers outside of engineering degrees.

There seem to be several ‘Southeastern Universities’ in that area. I did check out accreditation. The first one I listed seemed a little less than academic though. Second one looked like a vast improvement. Like a real university even. I see I forgot to include the website of Nova Southeastern…the one I am sure you are referring to. Oh well, those curious can google as well as I can, probably better.

I would highly endorse NOVA, the community college, here in Northern VA. It is a great place to get part of your college education completed without spending the huge bucks. It is also a great place to pick up extra courses if you already have a degree and just want to take a course you are interested in.

Nova southeastern is a private University with certification that is located in Davie, South Florida. Until 1991 it was a private college, with pretty good standing nationwide. After becoming a University it has gained standing in many fields, including psichiatry, music, child education, computers etc.

It has nothing to do with Nova college here in Virginia and was founded way before Nova in Virginia came around

Mom of 5. It may be worthwhile to check into homeschooling for a number of reasons. Make a visit to one of the local groups (HOPE or TORCH) and see for yourself how well-adjusted, socialized and educated the kids are.

You might want to ask this candidate if he is still an employee of Prince William County Schools. If he says no, perhaps you might want to ask why not. If he says yes, ask in what capacity and where he is based.

I thought the PWC was a fairly conservative group as far as school boards go, but I’m starting to worry.
According to Fed Up2 “There is already one on the Board that is interested in the Spanish,Hispanics”. Then this guy Manes has ties to the illegal movement and then I see that the guy running for our district’s spot is named Arnaiz which sounds hispanic as well.
Is this an organized effort to take over the schools? Should I be checking into homeschooling?

We definately do not need this guy on Our School Board.
He has shown his leanings by going to Manassas and speak to such a group.
There is already one on the Board that is interested in the Spanish,Hispanics
and they are not necessarily the legal citizens of our Country.
This has to be stopped now.
Everyone write to the Churches,the 7-11 and the Schools that are catering to these undocumented.

I would suggest checking out his connection to the University of Phoenix. Wasn’t this the degree for purchase school that was under a lot of scrutiny the past several years?

I noticed his bio was rather sketchy other than the meeeeeee chorus.

I wanted to learn things like …oh…age, how long a Prince William Employee, family, educational background….the typical things one might want to learn about any candidate they voted for.

Anyone who opposes expulsion sure would not get my vote…even for dog catcher.

hmmmmm….sounds like non renewal of contract for incompetence to me. But what do I know. It would be interesting (and informative) to know how long he was employed by the county. The past tense…taught…speaks volumes.
