Help Save Fairfax
By Greg L | 18 August 2007 | Fairfax County, Illegal Aliens | 72 Comments
Help Save Fairfax had it’s inaugural meeting this evening with about 100 people attending, including the A-list of elected officials and candidates, as well as representatives from Help Save Herndon, Help Save Loudoun and Help Save Manassas. This was a general informational meeting for those who had expressed an interest previously in the issue in Fairfax, and the turnout was quite a bit stronger than I had expected it to be, largely because Senator Ken Cuccinelli, who is passionate on this issue, decided to make sure that it got some publicity in his recent edition of the Cuccinelli Compass.
So much for a low-key meeting. Folks were telling us that the radio was reporting on this as they were driving there, and a number of blogs mentioned this despite some attempts to keep this a bit under the radar. I guess it’s hard to keep good news close.
Help Save Fairfax is under the wing of the Help Save Virginia network for a while, and I would expect a general membership meeting will be scheduled soon which will receive publicity. The political landscape in Fairfax is changing rapidly, and I would expect that in Fairfax the illegal alien apologists will be on the run in short order as Help Save Fairfax takes full advantage of the groundswell in public opinion against coddling illegal aliens, which has thus far been official policy, just as we saw in Prince William County.

It is always easy to use fear to provoke a response particularly if if is couched in us vs. them terms. This is how facists came to power in Europe in the 30’s nand 40’s. If Cuccinelli wants to align himself with a movement that is tied to white supremicist/bigoted organizations like FAIR, fine. It is facile to define this as “illegal” vs. legal immigration but NUMBERS USA and others tied to the Help Save organizations in Virginia are those seeking to limit all immigration except for Europeans. Glenn Beck and others are already sponsoring discussions about creating an “ethnically defined” plan for America’s future. They are asking openly “why shouldn’t America be able to define its future ethnically and limit immigration by non European persons. Folks who oppose Help Save Fairfax and others are not “illegal immigrant apologists” but they are certainlly advocates for an ethnically diverse Virginia where power will flow to racial and ethnic minorities as our demography changes … something that Help Save movement advocates fear and oppose as “unAmerican.”
Lovell Reilly: Please go back to the little padded room that you came from. Idiots like you do not seem to be able to deferential legal from illegal, and everyone who wants to uphold the law is suddenly a racist.
Your tiny pea sized brains wants to force illegals down our throats no matter the cost to our society, and it you were here in front of me I would shove my size 13’s somewhere unpleasant.
No wonder “Anon” wants to be Anon. The comments are inane to the max. The ‘Help Save…’ has done everything BUT, wherever it pops up. It started with Herndon and soon the town was divided in a way it has never been before. The last election campaign was the most divisive ever with the kind assistance of ‘Help Save Herndon’ from which sprung the Herndon Minutemen with their cameras in hand. George Taplin who initiated the MM has since become a bigshot in the organizaton and one of his lieutenants, Aubrey Stokes, I understand was one of the speakers last night. Beware ‘Help Save…’ It brings nothing but strife.
“Beware ‘Help Save…’ It brings nothing but strife.”
And homosexual Marxists. Go home commie, die die die!!!
I wish I had known about the meeting last night. I definitely would have been there in full support. Despite Lovell, Ottilia and the many other residents who make the decision to keep their blinders on, I’m sure the organization will enjoy great success as law abiding Fairfax residents from all backgrounds come together to support enforcement of the law through Help Save Fairfax.

Isn’t there something odd about complaints from conservatives Grover Norquist and David Keene that a DOJ proposal allowing “state and local law enforcement agencies to track down illegal immigrants … would set a dangerous precedent by empowering local jurisdictions to enforce many federal laws.”
Lovell’s is the same as the others who want to throw temper tantrums. They got their hands caught in the cookie jar and now they are being held accountable and responsible and they don’t like it. So, they are going to kick and scream and use the race card. They are going to say we are against immigration etc. because they want their way. They want to continue to break laws. I wonder Lovell what would you think if you woke up one morning and there were no laws at all. I’ll bet you wouldn’t survive the day. Laws apply to everyone not just who you want them to apply. I also know you don’t understand that there are many immigrants who absolutely detest the actions by illegal aliens. Are you some white man who is on his high horse who thinks the country should do exactly what he thinks? Then the question also arises: when did you become dictator?
Lovell, I was sure you were describing Marxists Without Borders (MSF) and the Woodbridge Workers Commies at first. But then you spoke of Glenn Beck, someone I have seen & heard regularly and you have proven yourself quite ignorant of his position.
I am working to actively support the HELP SAVE orgs and am also starting one, we need to consolidate schedules for protests and meetings and organize.
FIRST
We need to identify illegal immigrant supportes and launch counter protsts at their events.
SECOND
We need to start bringing to light the BLIGHT that these folks are having on our community, eveyr day I go to the local 7-11 in PROPERROUS Great Falls, not inner city Springfield or PG County, and have to witness dozens of landscapers, illegal or legal, I have my own opinion, PISSING in public on the sides of the building.
WHAT A BUNCH OF F’IN ANIMALS some of the posters on this site are supporting.
I AM TIRED OF ANIMALS PRETENDING TO BE CIVILIZED HUMANS LIVING AMONGST US. It is time for something to be done, and WE must do it.
As for the illegals threatening to BOYTCOTT businesses, go ahead, WE WILL cater to those businesses and BOYCOTT the ones that place sitckers in their windows that support the ILLEGAL SCOURGE in out area.
For my small part, I will begin operation NO URINATING in public. No more public exposure of your sex organs will be tolerated. I wil photograph and call Fairfax County police and insist on citations and prosecution. I will make it UNCOMFORTABLE for these ANIMALS to operate in my area, and UNCOMFORTABLE for the businesses that cater to them as well. Those businesses will be prominent in my photos and reports and I will post contact info so you can contact the businesses and tell THEN what you think of my actions and the photos I take.
Then we’ll see how willing they are to cater to these animals.
NEVER FORGET NEW JERSEY, WHEN THE ANIMALS RAN TO HIDE THEY CAME TO OUR AREA, THESE BABY RAPING MURDERING ANIMALS ARE LIVING HERE AMONGST YOU,,, ARE YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN GOING TO BE NEXT ?
DO SOMETHING OR BE A VICTIM, THE CHOICE IS YOURS !
SPEAK OUT AND ACT… NOW!!!!
My 16 year old daughter is afraid to go in or near 7-11 alone. When she was 14, I allowed her to go in to buy a soda while I waited in the car. While in the store, she was verbally assaulted in a sexual manner by an illegal day worker who referred to her as “sexy”.
7-11 had better wake up or one day they are going to find themselves in a class action lawsuit. Allowing these pissing, sexually perverse freaks to gather just so they can sell a hot dog!!!! That’s not the weiner I’m worried about.
I guess it’s the “norm” south of what’s supposed to be the U.S. border to sexually assault children. Shame on 7-11!!!!!!!!!!
I think we need to stop and ponder over one of Lovell’s most important statement:
“but they are certainlly advocates for an ethnically diverse Virginia where power will flow to racial and ethnic minorities as our demography changes”
In other words, this is dirty Sanchez yelling down with whitey. A shift of power to the masses. Interesting. And we are all a bunch of fascists. First of all fascism had nothing to do with immigration and second your rethoric clearly indicates your marxist tendencies.
there is no need to shift the power to minorities. First of all they are denied none of the rights that legals have and second, they have rights and protection that legals do not have.
Why everytime someone voices an opinion of objective reason at this blog site do it’s regular members resort to ” marxist pinko commies” under every rock routine? The reason may stem since most of them probably called the Russians the same name when it never entered into their own name: The United Soviet SOCIALIST Republic (USSR). Somehow not being able to discern between the difference shows a lack of education and of actual history…
NEVER FORGET NEW JERSEY, WHEN THE ANIMALS RAN TO HIDE THEY CAME TO OUR AREA, THESE BABY RAPING MURDERING ANIMALS ARE LIVING HERE AMONGST YOU,,, ARE YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN GOING TO BE NEXT ?Trac Inc -
I am in agreement that we need to work on getting illegals to stop using the sides of 7-11s as port-a-potties. I can’t wait to shop at the one around the corner from my house next week, loiterer-free. And I am beyond outraged at the criminal element that illegal alien influx is bringing to my city.
So I sympathize with your frustration but I take exception with your use of the term “animals” to describe, what sounded like, all illegal aliens. I think as we continue to wade into this long fight we need to keep our heads and not get caught up in the histrionic rhetoric that our opposition uses against us (racists, xenophobes).
Those who have snuck under the radar to work in the US are not animals. They are simply poor. Further, any day laborer who would urinate in broad daylight is not an animal, he is either uncultured or an idiot or both. That doesn’t mean we tolerate their lawbreaking; quite the contrary, we citizen taxpayers band together to fix a broken system that is allowing a tidal wave of illegal foreigners into our neighborhoods and negatively impacting our way of life. But, these folks are human beings and we should remember that.
The murderers and the gangbangers, now they are a different story.
Dan Arnold
VP, Help Save Manassas
Lovell and Ottillia: You are supporters of criminal activity. By your definition, standing up for the rule of law is “dividing the community”. You are right–we want to divide the illegal aliens from the citizens of Fairfax Co. and send them home. We are tired of your filth, crime and gangs.
Otillia
You can’t seriously think Fairfax doesn’t need help. There’s a message for you at HELP SAVE MANASSAS MEMBERSHIP DOUBLES AGAIN.
I know you live in Fairfax County, but are you a friend of Nancy Lyall, John Steinbach or Ricardo Juarez the “leaders” of Mexicans without borders?
You can bet that anyone who has nasties to say about HSM,HSF or HSL is a follower of Woodbrige Workers,Casa de Maryland or many of the others.
We are fed up with the 30,40 or 50 that hang out at 7-11 at Parkway and Rt.1. All day long and even weekends,so apparently they do not have a family to go home to!
Could be they live like the one picked up in Woodbridge for murder of the N.J. young women. Paper said there was at least 10 in the place and very little furniture. I wonder who owns the property and if the owner is allowing this to happen?
I wonder if a call to the health Dept. would get them out to check on all the urination and other that takes place in the Public? Could be this would be a hazzard to everyones health.
Think I’ll make an inquiry.
Keep up the good work HSM and John Stirrup. Thank You.
Thank you, Dan Arnold, VP, for your sane commentary. I know you can’t do it but, gee, I wish it were possible to moderate comments such as “baby raping, murdering animals - TracIng; pissing, sexually perverse…; bunch of f’in animals, etc. I know some members in HSH and none of them uses language like that. We disagree on many things but are able to have a decent exchange of opinions. You don’t suppose Herndon is a little more intellectual than Manassas? Nah, that can’t be. Lafayette - Never heard of Lyall, Steinback or Juarez.
The only group without borders I support is “Doctors without Borders”, a group that not too many years ago won the Nobel Peace Price.
Nobel PRIZE, of course!
Dan, I also want to say thanks for your level headed clarification of this issue.
My guess is that the poster - Trac Ing is actually someone who is very much opposed to the efforts of groups like Help Save Manassas. Such outrageous comments will be used by the likes of Mexicans without borders to discredit your fine organization.
Keep up your great work to SAVE MANASSAS.
Jackson Miller - Wow! Never thought that Anon and his/her ilk could be a mole, but you might be right. After reading “The Faithful Spy” I believe everything is possible!
Ottilia, winning a nobel prize doesn’t necessarily give one credibility - Yasser Arafat won it in 1994, though I can’t criticize the good work of docs w/o borders. If you don’t know the individuals listed by Lafayette, please get informed.
Ottilia
Legal2 is right you do need to get informed on these “three stooges”. I’m sure similar groups like Mexicans without borders exist in Fairfax County and definately in Herndon. I will not post their website, because I do NOT support their thoughts. I would also suggest also looking up Woodbridge Workers Committee, etc.
Dan,
Well put. I totally agree.
This thread is probably as good of a place to say this as any. Uncontrolled immigration is a serious issue in our area. People from across the political spectrum acknowledge this fact. The federal government has not done its job and has left us in a lurch. It is going to be imperative that Republicans, Independents, and Democrats, Conservatives, Moderates, and Liberals find some common ground if this issue is going to be solved.
Solutions will start at the grassroots level, such as HSM and other ‘Help Save __ groups working with elected officials of local governments. I have both seen and felt partisan and ideological nastiness directed at contributors collectively and individually. The name calling is ridiculous and it has come from both extremes. Most voters really fall into the murky middle as far as ideology goes. Yet I see people, who want to be part of the problem-solving process, leave this blog because, well truthfully, the lack of hospitality and the hostility.
I am a moderate and have never claimed to be anything else other than that. In one day I have been called a redneck and a liberal. I don’t need to be called anything. Take issue with my ideas and thoughts, not what I chose to call things or where readers feel I fall on the political spectrum.
As a resident of Prince William County I am asking for more tolerance amongst those of us who want to do something about being overrun by illegal immigrants in our community, and who want to uphold the long-held community standards of our own neighborhoods. We all want the same end result, so let’s not destroy each other over how we get there.
There are only two choices. 1) Enforce the law 2) Don’t enforce the law. There is no middle ground here. Anything other than total enforcement of the law is amnesty and as such rewards lawbreaking.
I was at the grocery store today and some Hispanic woman was in front of me with 2 or 3 kids (none of which she could afford to raise) using some kind of welfare check to pay for all the food. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of paying $1000 more a year in real estate taxes on the same valued house as I would pay in Fairfax just to subsidize the illegals’ baby making factories. As far as I am concerned, if you can’t take care of your kid(s) then you damn well shouldn’t have had them in the first place; and that goes for people of all races.
And another thing: The guys that pee on the walls, make catcalls to 15 year old girls and generally harass the rest of the public from shopping there (unimpeded by the donut eaters of course) ARE animals regardless of what Dan says. They are animals because of the way they act, not because of the color of their skin. I’ve seen hyenas act with more dignity, and it doesn’t get much lower on the animal scale than a hyena.
While “Trac Ing” and a few others may be just liberal shills for the Zapperteesters masquerading on the blog as racists, the sentiments he/she expresses may well be those of many in the general population, due to the frustration they are experiencing in dealing with this issue. People are angry, and they are prone to direct that anger at the wrong targets - the illegal aliens themselves. As I’ve said before, the targets of your frustration and anger should be those politicians, at all levels, who have allowed this infestation to occur and fester. People like George Allen, recently sighted at the PWC fair testing the public trough to see if he might be allowed back at it to slurp again. People like Frank Wolf, who continues to dodge the problem and put more effort into the Lost Boys of Darfur than the lost neighborhoods of his district. Then there’s Jorge (spit) Bush and his horde of Tex-Mex mafia who profit from allowing open borders. I got a call recently to attend a Bob Fitz Simmonds’ fundraiser where Frank Ostrich, I mean Wolf, was the main attraction. As much as I wanted to attend, I told the polite young caller that I’d better not, as I didn’t think I’d be able to restrain myself from physically assaulting that traitor to the American people. It’s people like Wolf that deserve the full force of your anger, your frustration and your action. The illegals are as much as, if not more, victims of their tyrannical inaction as we citizens are. They should be run out of this country first, then we can start deporting the illegals.
The federal politicians are not the only villains in this invasion. Since 2005, it’s been illegal in the state of Virginia to provide public benefits to illegal aliens. Do you think that law is followed in the counties in NoVA? Do you think any county supervisors have checked to see how (or if) their social services directors have implemented that law? These supervisors the folks responsible for the degradation of your neighborhoods, the proliferation of crime, the dumbing down of your schools, the wasting of your tax dollars. Call them names, not the illegals who are just taking advantage of the situation. Damn them to hell for all eternity for giving away what you, your parents, and all those who came before us built. And when you get the chance, vote them out of office, regardless of what party they claim affiliation. And when you see them in public, urinate on the sumbitches.
Concur—–^
Park’d,
I don’t actually disagree with you about either enforcing the law or not enforcing the law. Obviously, it hasn’t been enforced. I am more concerned over HOW we get there. I don’t think that there is much disagreement amongst people who see that the law is not being enforced.
My concern is over running people off who agree in principal because they might not be as strident as some contributors here. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are ‘illegal sympathizers’ because they choose different wording. For example (mild example), I really do not like calling everyone hispanic ‘Mexican.’ I don’t care what people say in private. That is their business. I say all sorts of words with my family and friends that I would not use here. However, this is a public blog. When we refer to everyone Hipanic as Mexican, it looks like we are all a bunch of Archies. The message is lost over semantics and petty in-fighting.
By the same token, someone came on here and blasted me over a private joke with Lafayette over our neighborhood twin hummers. I probably deserved the blasting. I should have kept the joke private. I was branded a racist and a redneck.
These are the types of things that consume energy and take the focus off the main cause. And for the record, I am not without sin myself.
I agree, Dolph. I would love to see the rhetoric ratcheted down from some of the folks on our side. We can all work toward the same goals without the fire-breathing rage. No one is more passionate about dealing with the illegal alien problem than I am. But I don’t hate these people. I just want them to obey the law, despite the fact that groups like MWB and Unity in the Community tell them they don’t have to.
If they want to become American citizens, which some of them very well might, they need to go through the channels, learn English, learn to love our culture (while still being proud of their heritage) and to embrace our history and traditions. Apply for citizenship or legal worker status and you will then be welcomed like brothers and sisters into the fold. That is where the opposition gets us wrong. We Americans and Virginians ARE a welcoming people. I don’t care what race you are if you love this country the way I do and want to cast your lot with me to make it better. But we also have a strong sense of fair play and don’t like being told to keep our mouths shut when we know something ain’t right.
That being said, 287g must be implemented to its maximum potential in this state to rid us of the true “animals” who kill without compulsion. I am very disturbed by the fact that two of the suspects in the New Jersey execution fled to the obscure little town of Manassas, VA. Why here of all places? This does not speak well for our community and puts an even hotter spotlight on our need to crackdown on this problem.
Wow, am I in the Twilight Zone? This blog is like a festering wound overflowing with miseducation and animosity toward undocumented immigrants. It’s like going back to the Civil Rights Era. Infact, I’d make an estimate that atlest 50% of the subscribers are either descendants of or were in support of segregationists back then. Only now there’s a new and even easier target, “Illegal Immigrants.” I mean really how many of you have even been to a Latin American country? Resorts don’t count!!!
After all that is the source of the issue, because if these people had a stable economy and political structure back “home”, they wouldn’t have a need to be here in the first place. Which brings me to one of my points, I have yet to hear anyone mention the effects of U.S. foreign policy; the Free trade agreements such as NAFTA and CAFTA on these countries. What about the World Bank and how it perpetuates debt in these countries, causing inflaiton and economic downfall. Not to mention, the countless civil wars which were waged through out Latin America in the 70’s, 80’s even up until the 90’s, Wars which the U.S. played a huge role in. I’m not saying that the U.S. is fully responsible for the situations in these countries, but I think we do have a responsibility to factor these major issues into account. You can either take what I say into account or deny the facts, it’s up to you but I truly hope you guys don’t let blindless lead you. I’m almost positive I’m going to be labeled a Marxist for not conforming to the status quo, but before people start throwing labels out there I choose not to associate myself with any specific idealogy because I for one can think for myself.
I believe that the best thing to do is ignore you, Equal Opportunist. when you have something intelligent to say, you are welcome to back and say it.
Despite some fairly intemperate comments here that have kind of sidetracked this thread, which would often result in some heavy comment moderation, I’m leaving these up with a strong admonition for folks participating here to try to behave responsibly. That goes for both sides here.
This thread pretty well demonstrates the terrible frustration some feel that their legitimate concerns about public safety and quality of life are being casually dismissed by the illegal alien apologists. Until they recognize that there is a problem here that needs solutions, rather than dismissing it all as racism, I understand that folks are going to be outraged and might resort to some language that under other circumstances they would not use. But please, even though you’re justifiably angry about what’s happening in your community, understand that how you address this problem will significantly impact responsible efforts to develop and advocate effective, humane, and legally sound solutions.
To those illegal alien apologists who steadfastly refuse to grasp that citizens have real and legitimate concerns here, you are throwing away any opportunity to contribute to the solutions we need. You can either join with those trying to develop responsible solutions here, or be crushed under the wave of public outrage that you see being expressed, albeit immoderately, here. You are doing nothing but inflaming the debate, and adding to the chorus of those who actively oppose your position.
Let’s try to be smart here, folks. It’s about what you cause.
Well said, Greg.
First off Equal Opportunist, the illegals are easy targets because they make themselves out to be with their daily behavior and refusal to do anything to adapt to American culture and norms. Do you think we all just woke up one day bored with our suburban lives and decided to gang up against the poor illegal alien influx for lack of anything better to do?? Seriously…
I already live in a Latin American country right here in Manassas Park, so I can unequivocally say, “YES, I HAVE been to a Latin American country”, or at least the next best thing.
I don’t disagree with you that the US foreign policy does have a lot to do with where we are now. Corruption and greed on the part of our corporate lackey politicians has incubated this mess we are in, but that still doesn’t mean that we should just forgive 20-30 million people for breaking the law and helping themselves to what isn’t theirs. I just wish they would show the same chutzpah back in their home countries that they show here and maybe they wouldn’t be in this mess. I could never respect a man that was too much of a coward to change things in his home country but now has the GALL to demand rights in his host country that he didn’t have the courage to fight for in his own. SAD…SAD….SAD.
At 3:17 today “park’d” said among other things: “I’ve seen hyenas ad with more dignity”. Out of pure curiosity - where did you see the hyenas? You must have been on a safari. - Besides, hyenas clean up animal carcasses in the wild. Maybe that’s what you mean, that the Latinos clean up after us higher animals. You know dirty dishes, dirty sheets, filthy toilets. etc., etc/
Fed up, Equal Opportunist did have something intelligent to say, although I agree it was eclipsed by the gross assumptions in his first paragraph.
I’ve said before, this is a highly charged emotional issue which did not reach this zenith overnight, although ignoring it has brought it to the current boiling point. It will take intelligent, reasonable people on BOTH sides of the issue to bring us all back to sanity. Debate is healthy, but charges of “racist” from one side and “commie” from the other serves no other purpose than to stir the pot and bring us to a violent rather than peaceful solution.
In my opinion, we MUST stem the tide of illegal aliens that are pouring over our borders AND do whatever can be done to enforce our EXISTING laws, whether it be performed at the local level WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (who precipitated this situation in the first place by ignoring the law) or a properly financed and manned ICE operation…or a combination of both. My personal preference would be both…the locals are much closer to the problem, which does not exist in every community, and ICE must be properly funded to handle deportation. The borders MUST be protected, even if it takes the military to do it. The problem has truly reached the point of invasion, as has been suggested by several commenters, and the Federal Government is in violation of one of its prime responsibilities according to the Constitution of the United States. There is no historical comparison between this influx of illegal aliens and those of the past.
Once the immediate problems have been brought under control, it is incumbent upon reasonable people to come together and determine fair and equitable immigration policy and laws which are consistent, and relevant to the 21st Century. Sure, this is all going to cost some money, but perhaps the Federal Government, with the taxpayers keeping a sharp eye, should start prioritizing the funds provided by its employers a little better. They seem to forget, they serve the will of the people…the people do not serve them!!
Standing ovation for AWC!
I just read on ChicagoTribune.com that Elvira Arellano was arrested today!
I have to weigh in here.
Yes, we can blame our politicians for letting illegal immigration get out of hand, but I can’t excuse the behavior of those that don’t follow the law. I am also a mom with an 18 year old daughter. She has been looked at, catcalled, and has been jester to in sexual ways while shopping. This doesn’t just happen at the 7-11. This behavior is inexcusable! Urinating on a building, in neighbors back yards, etc is inexcusable! This is not the fault of the politicians, this is the fault of the individual and when we see these kinds of actions perpetrated by what we presume to be illegal aliens does get the blood boiling.
But as Dan has stated before, we can not go around name calling as that puts us on the same level as those that call the Help Save groups racists. I would invite each and everyone of you that has said Help Save Manassas is a white supremacy group to attend one of our meetings. You will soon learn that your thinking is wrong.
We are using our constitutional right to get our elected officials to do something about the influx of illegal’s into the area. When people contribute to this blog, they do not do so in the name of HSM unless stated, as our Vice President has done. These are individual statements by citizens that we don’t even know if they belong to HSM, because most don’t use their own names here.
BTW- If there wasn’t a problem with illegal aliens in Virginia, there would not be any Help Save groups out there.
The article in the chicago tribune: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chicago/chi-elvira_web.1aug20,0,5377709.story?coll=chi_breaking
Yes, Ms. Arellano, we want this to be a nation of laws. You put your child in this situation. You were not arrested 3 yrs ago at Chicago O’Hare Airport for working nights to feed your child. You have a long history of criminal conduct. Too bad you made decisions for which your son has to pay.
Lovell,
It is very unfortunate for you that you came to the meeting with a closed mind, and even more so that you left the same way.
Let’s get something straight–there is no such thing as an undocumented immigrant. The proper term is illegal alien.
I have never been to a Central American country. Why would I want to?
I am not interested in third world/basket case countries.
We do not like our neighborhoods trashed. We don’t like to see public urinating and spitting. We do not like these illegal alien mothers in our supermarkets letting their numerous children run wild. We don’t want to be bombarded with pseudo-Spanish jibber jabber.
We should be able to choose whom we want to be Americans. Wanting to make more money to send home is not a good enough reason. We need intelligent, educated, civilized immigrants, not the bottom of the barrel. Why should we enable these corrupt governments by taking their social problems off their hands?
I wish the PWC police would just enforce existing laws. Why can’t they enforce laws that prohibit being drunk in public? Why can’t they enforce the laws about license plates? I’ll say it again, if I had a penny for everyone who drove down Lomond Drive with only one license plate I would be the richest woman in Prince William County. How about trespassing? How about stealing cars? How about loitering? How about dumping chemicals down the storm drain (our drinking water)? Are you listening you eco minded citizens? How about breaking and entering? How about robbery? How about the beer parties and loud music? How about dropping pants and exposing privates in order to urinate in public? How about switching license plates on cars? How about fights out in the street? How about fires? How about sexual assualts and the regular run of the mill assaults? How about cars with one plate and cars with no plates? How about the out of state plates? For a while there I actually thought I was living in North Carolina. I could go on but I’m getting a little tired.
If there is a PWC police officer seeing these comments, I truly would like to hear a response to the above.
I actually had to take my dog out the other night to prevent another trespassing. I’m tired of doing the work a police officer should be doing. I’m tired of doing the work of Property Code Enforcement.
If there is any vigilantism it is because PWC police refuse to enforce laws on illegal aliens or persons they may think are here illegally.
Jackson Miller you can tell that to your boss. He is too busy being politically correct in order to do his job as a law enforcement officer. Unfortunately, he has brainwashed the entire PWC police force so that they act with political correctness instead of doing their job enforcing the law. Of course if they see a citizen jay walking they will throw the book at them.
I’m tired. I asked God to intervene. For those of you who aren’t Christians you will not understand but for those of you who are, you will understand! Romans 13:1!
Here’s a good one about Prince William County’s resolution in case you haven’t seen it yet.
http://loudounextra.washingtonpost.com/news/2007/aug/19/latino-group-vows-sue-if-resolution-isnt-tempered/?print
Let ‘em sue. We’ll make ‘em spend all of George Soros’ money so he won’t have any left to give to Hillarybitch.
Patty:
Keep the faith. We’re going to win back this County, this Commonwealth, and this Country. One way or another.
Patty
Advocator just said it best, KEEP THE FAITH. It is going to get better. Just look at the two houses that fled on my block, and they had open storm doors, and 8 vehicles, 15-20 male occupants, and the trespassers haven’t been back to the foreclosed property next to my mom. I really do think the reason they’ve stopped “stripping” that house is due due to the PWCPD coming each and every time they were called on that one. I thank each and every officer that did come to 9714 on my block. I would also like to add that they came in a very timely fashion, and the Non-emergency was called not 911. I think that there were 7 or 8 officers there over a 24 hour period. Thanks again, to ALL of those officers.
REAL SIMPLE - STOP STARING AT ME AND MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!!!
And I do mean “STARING”. What is that???????? Women appear to be rape targets (sounds like bad charactarization of black in the 50’s). Makes me really mad since we “thought” we got past that. In what culture is that constant staring at my boobs acceptable??? There is NO…NO excuse.
I will take one of them out as I am still taller (being a short female of 5′ 2″). WTF????????? Dusk till dawn midget style!!!!!!! I thought this shit was over in the 90’s when ACLU made sure women weren’t harassed at construction sites and employers could get sued. Time to get back to those basics.
PIGS go home. You aren’t hurting MY baby. OR ME. F - OFF!!!!!!!1
PATTY, I FEEL YOUR PAIN.
And I live in good old Great Falls. I think I need to start a “sticker” campaign” to “certify” illegal free landscaping and housekeeping zones.
It makes me SICK that the same neighbors that complain about illegals are bankrolling them. I have to drive my daughter to the bus stop at 6:00 a.m. and make sure she has a ride home at 2:30 each day.
I ask you all - WHAT IS THE $$$$$COST ON THOSE ITEMS ALONE?
iT’S ECONOMICS, STUPIDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From the article:
“I came to support our Spanish community,” Anna Ordoñez said. “I am a citizen, but just because I am Spanish, they’re going to be stopping me to question me. I don’t think that’s right.”
Although Ordoñez said she and her husband will not leave the county if the new measures are implemented, another resident, Harold Silva of Woodbridge, said he does not want to remain where he’s “not welcome.”
Silva, 40, originally from Colombia, attended the rally with his wife, Andreina. “As soon as I can sell my house, I’m going to leave this county,” he said. “This is going to get worse . . . I’m very pessimistic. We’ve had a very bad history in this country.”
Now what gets me is that these people who are here legally are supporting those who have made the problems in the first place. It also shows that the Latino community for some reason thinks police are going to stop people at checkpoints to ask immigration status, which is absolutely ridiculous. We have a right to have laws enacted which are for the betterment of the majority of the community, and which complement laws already on the books. When laws are ignored, society starts to break down and chaos results.
In response to park’d comment august 19 5:17pm , “I could never respect a man that was too much of a coward to change things in his home country but now has the GALL to demand rights in his host country that he didn’t have the courage to fight for in his own. SAD…SAD….SAD.”
To say that undocumented workers are cowards because they have fleed their home countries is to say that the descendants of our founding fathers are cowards. That’s like saying the pilgrims were cowards because they sought religous freedom and democracy in America by fleeing persecution in their host countries. Was Plymouth Rock founded by cowards or brave men willing to face the unknown for a better life?
In response to AWCHENEY 19 Aug 2007 at 6:07 pm
Though I don’t neccessarily agree with everything you said about handling the immigration issue. It is clear you are probably one of the most logical and sensible bloggers that I have read so far… I look forward to reading your comments in the future.
Nah, it’s all crap to win the media war, Disgusted. Law enforcement, and against child rape and murder - you are racist. Haven’t you heard???? Our 4th rail (the media) is TOTALLY CORRUPT. A journalist is WORSE than a lawyer now.
The more “opinion” you get slammed out there in the “unbiased media” the better. Time we go to war against law breakers, and facilitators…..the media. ! + 1 = 2 PERIOD
And YES, YOU CAN KISS MY OGLED ASS on that one!
And I’ll moon you too, Equal Opp. “in a flash”.
Tell me first where it’s OK to break the law
In response to Greg L 19 Aug 2007 at 5:06 pm:
“To those illegal alien apologists who steadfastly refuse to grasp that citizens have real and legitimate concerns here, you are throwing away any opportunity to contribute to the solutions we need. You can either join with those trying to develop responsible solutions here, or be crushed under the wave of public outrage that you see being expressed, albeit immoderately, here. You are doing nothing but inflaming the debate, and adding to the chorus of those who actively oppose your position.”
First off, I never denied that there were some citizens with some legitimate concerns. However, wshere we seem to differ is in reaching a logical and responsible solution.
Second off, I am not intimidated by the the so called, “wave of public outrage.” If I inflame the debate, well that is exactly my purpose. Why you ask? Because just as Socrates felt it was neccessary to create a tension in the mind so that the individuals could rise from the bondage of myth and half-truths to the realm of creative analysis and objective appraisal. Contrary to what you think Greg L, it is my belief that this type of “tension,” will help men rise from the dark depth of prejudices to the majestic heights of understanding and brotherhood.
I am a human-being before anything else, that goes for being American as well.
Equal opp:
You have told us you are here to inflame. Why?
Secondly, what do you feel is a responsible solution? Let’s just cut to the chase.
Well, Equal, we’ve been trying your brand of “solution” since about the 1960’s - old, worn ideas of dialogue and coming to a consensus (agreeing with you). Hasn’t worked. We are actually doing something now.
Disgusted: The alien apologists, the media (who aren’t paying attention) and the orgs (who incite fear with their lies to legal immigrants), are justifying their existence by misrepresenting what the resolution says. The article doesn’t mention that 287(g) IS a federal program, that we as a locality are simply enforcing existing laws, and that police are not going to be detaining anyone because of their color (or do latinos intend to keep breaking laws?). Those “helpful” groups are doing a disservice to both legals and illegals with their “myth and half-truths” as Equal puts it.
Equal Opportunist,
Here is my response to your ‘inflammation’ tactic.
I would like to believe that enough Americans would be current with world news to realize that people like Equal Opportunists are not trying to edify or better the dialogue. His rantings are nothing more than a veiled threat.
first of all, Guatemalans and Salvadoreans are only a small percentage of illegals coming to the US. In terms of the total illegal population and our “campaign” in those countries, the argument is moot.
in addition, please realize that there are a drove of illegal immigrants in Europe from central and south america where they are wreaking havoc, just as they are here. Dear Equal Opportunists have you been to Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and other EU countries? And what makes you think that you need a degree in sociology and anthropolgy to recognize that illegal immigrants are undermining this country?
I am tired of the rethoric that would want to prostrate and genuflect to the bs that people like Equal Opportunist dishes out. We do not have to feel guilty about anything. We have supported financially hafl of the world and we do not need to take the bs that these apologists are throwing in our face.
the citizens’ reaction is due to the disrispect, the arrogance and the illegals dealings of illegal aliens. It is that very attitude which is thrown in our face which makes us recoil. It is not racism or ill will. It is a natural defence mechanism, which every human being experiences when their life and existence is at stake. Many illegal immigrants are bullies, they threaten us in the streets, they try to scare our children in the schools, they piss on buildings and catcall women of every age, forget sixteen. I had to tell them off since my daughter was 11. I have no remorse or guilt about wanting to enforce the laws.
It is the very attitude of defiance, or arrogance, the marxist rethorice which is causing the backlash. Stop blaming “whitey” and take a good look at yourselves. This country has helped millions of people from every walk of life for decades. We are a hospitable country. But we are fed up with the insults, with the unlawful behavior, and with people who want to destabilize our country and change our way of life forever.
Monticup,
re: ‘Undocumented immigrant’
What possible difference does it make? Please be aware that some people here have jobs where they must use more neutral terminology.
Is an undocumented immigrant more legal than an illegal alien or an illegal immigrant? No.
Let’s not get into a spitting contest over semantics.
Dolph
Undocumented relieves the Illegal from the illegal part of his behavior and condition. Suffice it say that immigrants themselves refer to illegals as undocumented. I am tired of all the pussyfooting around and the political correctness. This is not a question of semantics. Without documents implies that their condition is in a provisory state. That somehow they do not have documents through no fault of their own. It is unnecessary and uncalled for to apologize for breaking the law.
Equal Opportunist:
I have lived in both Mexico (Mexico City) and Brazil (Sao Paulo). In both cases I had all the visas and legal documentation required to live and work in those countries. In both cases I was working under contract to a government controlled company. So please don’t lecture me about my lack of knowledge.
I had to learn and speak Spanish in order to operate in Mexico City. While people in hotels and the most expensive restaurants catered to tourists and foreign businessmen by speaking English, most people did not. I was in Mexico. If I wanted lunch I had to order in Spanish.
US foreign policy had little or nothing to do with the economic meltdowns in Mexico. It was internal corruption, childish economic policy and a class system where the rich stayed super rich and the poor stayed destitute. I have also done significant business in India and China. These countries have actually copied many aspects of the economic approach used by the United States and other capitalist countries. And guess what? They have fast growing economies, rising standards of living and citizens who can find jobs in their own countries. No - the failures of many countries in Latin America are fully the responsibility of the corrupt and incompetent governements of those countries.
And the failure of the US immigration policy is fully the responsibility of the corrupt and incompetent politicians we have elected here.
Advocator is right. It’s time to “throw the bums out”. Not only the illegal aliens but also the Federal politicians who let this problem arise. And it should be a federal issue, not a state and local issue. The localities have had to act in place of the federal government due to the incompetence of Congress. Unfortunately, since this is Constitutionally a federal issue, local actions are unlikely to hold up in any case where they conflict with action taken by the federal government (if and when those clowns ever actually take any action).
In the meantime, I believe that loud rhetoric that could be perceived as racist or confrontational protests are contrary to the effort to get rid of the illegal aliens. The better alternative is to quietly push the police to enforce the laws that already exist, maintain a strict policy of differentiating between illegal aliens and legal foreign born workers and (most of all) demand serious prosecution of the people who hire illegal aliens.
As the “good Teddy” (i.e., Roosevelt) once said:
“Walk softly (between now and election day) but carry a big stick (to bash each and every incumbent on election day).”
Dear Fairfax Resident:
I agree and may I add a little quote of my own:
“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose your were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.”
Mark Twain
Fed up,
That is your perception. And that’s ok, if you are the one speaking. However, not everyone has the same take on the semantics. People here illegally generally do not speak English, much less read it, so I see the issue of nomenclature as unimportant. As I have said, some people here work in jobs where conveying neutrality in speech is demanded.
To me, ‘undocumented’ means not having the proper documents one needs to be legally in this country. I will continue to use the terms interchangeably. It certainly does not mean I support anyone being in this country illegally.
Yeah Dolph
That is me “speaking”. Me, legal immigrant fed up from Europe. I have never broken the law, I have always paid my taxes, I have always worked and I even got one of my degrees here. I have never tried to use the system or get anything for free. I have never asked for anything and never got anything for free. I have never tried to raise chickens in my backyard and my husband does not piss on buildings. I have never tried to reenter the country illegally and have always observed immigration rules.
When I was fifteen, I went to Consulate in Naples, whose jurisdiction I was under. I was given a blood test, an xray and a gynecological exam to screen for TB, venereal diseases or any disease that they deemed a threat to the United States. I was givena preliminary test in the English Language. I was also asked what my intentions were once in the United States. Although my mother had a very successful business she founded in New York, she had to sign to the fact that I would not be a burden to this country.
Please do not tell me about “documentation.” Remember, I am the one whose mother was an american citizen who adopted me. It is offensive to any and all who have gone through the lenghty and onerous process of legal immigration to hear people call illegal immigrants, law breakers, “undocumented.”
Now, can you please tell me why I should call illegal immigrants undocumented? There is no reason, other than to soften the ugly reality that is illegal immigration.
Go after the employers, the politician and the administration that is allowing this travesty instead of splitting words with law abiding citiizens.
Fed Up:
I was born in the US. So were my parents. So were my grand-parents. After that, I don’t really know although I suspect that my family’s American born status goes back a few more generations.
Let me give you a belated, “Welcome to the United States!”.
Legal immigrants such as you are crucial to the American economy and are a major factor in preserving the American “way of life”. The US must continue to allow legal immigration from many countries in an organized and logical manner. It may always be difficult to become a legal resident or citizen of the US. However, nothing really good is ever easy.
Illegal immigration, however, must be stopped. For one thing, it devalues the efforts made by people like yourself to gain legal entry into the US. There are many other reasons.
My only disagreement with many of those who post on this site is how to stop illegal immigration. I’d rather use the ballot box than the protest sign. In Fairfax County we have an exceptional police department. However, like all police departments, they lack the money required to enforce every misdemeanor. So, they prioritize the types of crimes they enforce starting with the most violent and working their way down the list to lesser offences. All they need is for the politicians in the county to raise the priority of enforcement of anti loitering, bunk house, harassment, etc. violations to put a reasonable cap on the problems caused by illegal immigrants. That cap will last until November 2008 when we can vote out the idiots at the federal level who allowed this problem to arise.
Once again, “Welcome”.

Fed Up,
I dont think you should call illegal immigrants ‘undocumented.’ I have never told you how to speak. I think you should call them what you want to call them and let others do the same.
Surely you can understand why I, a citizen by birth, descendant of both ffv’s and immigrants, resent being told what words I am to use and not use on a blog. I could understand it if I were being obscene or using ethnic slurs. However, this is not the case.
It amazes me to see how many people blur the issue concerning illegal aliens, the bottom line is that someone broke our laws solely for gain. There is nothing moral about illegal immigration, its all about money and how much they can aquire through illegal means. There are issues not only with breaking our sovereignty, document fraud, identity fraud, tax evasion, wire fraud (moving money under false pretense), over occupation, defrauding the government’s social services, having children for gain, driving without licenses and other fraudulent practices. Not to say that illegal aliens are some of the most racist people on earth and not just Hispanics, but Middle easterners, Africans, Asians and Occidentals. The apologists seem to only claim Americans that are against illegals as racist, but listening to Hispanics talk among themselves, one would hear ni–gers instead of Blacks, gringo honk–bit–es instead of White females, chi–s instead of Asian. This myth that these are just hard working innocent mexicans trying to make a living for their families should be clarified with the truth that is smacking Americans in the face daily. These are criminals taking advantage of sympathetic Americans and America, but the one thing about America is that when there is a crisis, Americans act, this is what we are seeing now, Americans of all types, and not just conservatives will correct the illegal alien problem by enforcement through attrition, and citizens saying, enough is enough. Because we are a moral nation, we will not just storm troop the interlopers out, we will do it through campaigns such as “Help save Fairfax”, forcing votes in congress, preventing votes that will hurt the country and other means of the law. People who are not Americans don’t seem to understand that we are a Republic of Laws with states rights, and this is what makes us great. It is a great time to be alive, to see this type of activism from Americans that will change or correct our country for the good.
I AM A HISPANIC INMIGRANT OF PERU AND CAME TO THE US THIRTY YEARS AGO. I CAN UNDERSTAND THE FRUSTRATION OF ALL CITIZENS OF FAIRFAX COUNTY, I AM TOO. I DO NOT WANT TO GO A 7 ELEVEN WITH MY CHILDREN AND BE EXPOSED TO INMATURED OR STUPID COMMENTS, BUT AT THE SAME TIME I BELIEVE THAT THIS PEOPLE ARE NOT ANIMALS , THEY ARE HUMANS LIKE YOU. YES! I AM TIRED OF ILLEGALS INMIGRANTS COMMING TO OUR COMMUNITIES , AND I AM GLAD THAT WE HAVE FORMED AN ORGANIZATION TO SAVE FAIRFAX, PLEASE CONTINUE TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT TO CLEAN OUR STREETS .. PLEASE KEEP IN MINE THAT A LOT OF THE ILLEGALS ARE COMMITING CRIMES AND THEY KNOW THAT WE CAN NOT KEEP TRACK OF THEM.. ALSO , WHY DO WE HAVE AN OPTION TO HEAR A MESSAGE IN SPANISH? , THIS MAKES THINGS EASIER FOR HISPANICS NOT TO ASSIMILATE TO THE SYSTEM , YOU SEE THE WAY I SEE IT WE WANT THEIR BUSINESS (HISPANICS), WE JUST DONT WANT TO SEE THEM NEST DOOR…A LOT OF BUSINESS OWNERS LOOK THE OTHER WAY FOR PROFITS…SO PEOPLE ONLY ALLOW THE PEOPLE WHO ARE LEGAL, AND FORM AN ORGANIZATION TO HELP THEM CARRY THEMSELVES LIKE NORMAL CITIZENS…TEACH THE LEGAL INMIGRANTS ABOUT MANNERS, FINANCIAL PLANNING, EDUCATION, ETC… THANKS
One of the greatest potential accomplishments of the “Help Save” movement, in my opinion, is giving the legal immigrants the courage, and a potential forum, to provide input into this problem with illegal immigration…which I’ve always believed that they considered a problem as well. Mr. Arioas has just confirmed that for me and I am grateful to him.
Sir, you should DEFINITELY consider joining one the “Help Save” groups. Your insight and input would be invaluable!
SIR , I WILL JOIN ” HELP SAVE” IF YOU ALLOW ME SO. MY TIME IS VERY LIMITED, BUT HISTORY IS HAPPENNING IN FRONT OF OUR EYES. IT IS UP TO US TO RESOLVE THIS PROMBLEM SO THAT OUR CHILDREN CAN ENJOY A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL LIFE IN THE COUNTY.. WHEN ARE THE MEETINGS ? HOW CAN I HELP.. I AM WELL VERSED IN BOTH SPANISH AND ENGLISH AND YOUR MESSAGE SHOULD BE HEARD BY THE LATINO COMMUNITY.. THANKS J ARIAS
