Driving liberals, dhimmis and illegal alien apologists absolutely insane since 2005...

Stafford Joins In

By Greg L | 22 August 2007 | Illegal Aliens, Virginia Politics | 4 Comments

The DC Examiner is reporting that Stafford County has announced that the Rappahannock Regional Jail will participate in the Section 287(g) Program which allows local law enforcement and corrections officers to process for deportation illegal aliens who commit serious crimes, rather than leaving it up to the discretion of ICE whether an illegal alien should be released back into the community. In addition, the Stafford County BOCS voted 4-1 to adopt English as their official language. The momentum established by Prince William County’s recent actions on illegal aliens continues unabated.

This makes the list of jurisdictions that are either participating in this program, or actively seeking memorandums of understanding with Homeland Security as follows: Herndon, Manassas, Prince William County, Manassas Park, Loudoun County, Shenandoah County, Stafford County and Culpepper County. How many jurisdictions have to do this before Governor Kaine finally realizes that the State Police and Department of Corrections really need to participate as well?

Kaine has the power to enroll the Commonwealth in this program without any legislative action, but he has refused to even talk about it. Meanwhile, Democrats in Danville are starting to get on board with the illegal alien issue, leaving their party leader in the uncomfortable position of defending a policy that is rapidly losing support from Republicans and Democrats alike.

Get on the bus, Governor, or get thrown underneath it.

From what I heard on the news he was told that there were not enough funds for this. Is this true?

Send an official message from HSM and other HSX groups with all the member signatures. That should get his attention.

Do you really think that the Post article about illegal immigrants and the abuser fees means Virginia Democrats are changing their tune on immigration ?

It strikes me as just more political opportunism. They know the abuser fees are unpopular, and that illegal immigrants are unpopular. They’re just trying to combine the two in an attempt to tar the GOP. As I said in the post you linked to, stuff like this could come back to bite them.

Channel 7 had a story about Stafford during their 11:00 PM newscast…. They used undocumented instead of illegal. I guess we know how channel 7 feels about illegal aliens.
