Fairfax:

When I asserted "you've backtracked", I meant Greg backtracked not you. I agree that Greg misrepresented the orginal quote and followed that up with a slightly lesser misrepresentation as he can't let the facts stand in his way. The NAMBLA reference is to similar immature blog behavior by Joe Stanley.

Personally, I would rather the PWC BOCS expend more effort on getting a handle on the infrastruture and development issues that plague the county and portend dire fiscal and physical consequences in the near future. This year's trailer "crisis" is at Brentsville HS, just wait till next year when the crisis occurs at Battlefield. Lest anyone assert otherwise, the pressure on the inadequate infrastructure is not principally a result of aliens, illegal, extraterrestrial or otherwise, rather it is a result of poor planning by the County staff, BOCS and school board.

Being somewhat cynical, I would suggest that all of the talk and resolutions regarding the illegal aliens is nothing more than smoke and mirrors to obscure other problems, grandstanding in an election year to increase ones odds of re-election or grandstanding in an effort to gain some measure of relevancy for a run at higher office; all depends on which local official you wish to apply the measure to.

OK Anon, let's try again...

Here is the actual quote from the article:

"We had some patients that we knew weren't illegal citizens not feeling comfortable coming into the health center for care," he said.".

Here's what Greg L. wrote in his original post:

"Corey Riley, who in today’s Washington Post admits that his non-profit organization provides benefits to known illegal aliens".

I assume that Greg L. then realized he had misrepresented the article and tried to correct that mis-representation with the following point from his comment:

"If Corey Riley knows that some were legal, it would seem reasonable that he knew that some were not.".

So, we have first a misrepresentation and then an incorrect statement as an attempt to explain away the misrepresentation.

Of course, all of these errors come replete with commentary such as "ha ha", "burn lol" and your comment with its odd fixation with NAMBLA and "weight classes".

Apparently, logic is not taught in Hee Haw reruns.

Redawn:

You may be right about my having a false sense of security about illegal immigration in Fairfax County. However, I'd rather start with a more modulated approach and then rachet it up versus a more vehement approach which might need to be racheted down. I think Connolly's Task Force deserves a chance to work. The Lee District supervisor who has been a vocal complainer about this issue now says the Task Force is showing results.

Ms. Wood:

This particular post and related comments have nothing to do with Fairfax County. However, Greg L. and the commentors on this site have recently tried to explain why their approach in PWC should be used in Fairfax County. Therefore, I have been reading articles and comments to see if there was merit to this belief. I pointed out the illogic of Greg L's statement in the comments section as my own commentary about the value of these ideas to Fairfax County.

To recap, you've backtracked from the affirmative statement that Riley "admits that his non-profit organization provides benefits to known illegal aliens" to the speculative assertion that "If Corey Riley knows that some were legal, it would seem reasonable that he knew that some were not".

Glad to see you're in the same class as "NAMBLA Boy", well maybe not his weight class. Seems that you have a continuing issue with the facts, at least those facts that prove inconvenient.

I live in California and you are all being read out here. Just a few words about uncontrolled immigration from Mexico to those of you that are only recently experiencing this. The reconquista is a real political agenda and in this state is percieved as a credible threat to the continued existence of the country. Perfectly sane people feel this way for good reason. Being threatened with the statement "We are going to take it back" is an experience that both my wife and I have heard at work. I don't know how many of these illegals from Mexico would participate in a civil war but watching 5-6 hundred thousand of them waltzing around the streets of Los Angeles carrying Mexican flags and showing off pictures of Che Guevara leads me to belive that violence is a short next step. Anyone that is so naive that they don't think that that is possible needs to read more history. I am througly fed up with people that ride around on a cheap moral high horse about this instead of looking at the demographics and a host of other socioeconomic issues that will take us to the unthinkable if we don't get our heads out.

I don't like comments from people running for office who think "professional politicians" know better than the citizens and when I see it I'm going to say something. These people are in effect wanting our government to run like a communist government and all U.S. citizens should be disgusted with the type of comments Riley made in the Post.

Fairfax Resident - "However, I do know that people who can’t think logically need to stay out of Fairfax County politics."

What does any of this have to do with Fairfax?

BTW- This resolution was a result of Chief Deane's sanctuary policy.

The ten things BVBL does best.

10. Intolerance of Catholics -- hating fags just isn't enough when you like immigrants.

9. Hating Muslims, some of my best friends are Muslims, but they are mostly killers trying to take over America.

8. Knowing the Bible better than anybody else, especially those stinking Catholics.

7. Guilt by association, if you know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebodys, who has heard of some obscure criminal group, you are basically a member of that group.

6. Knowing that people you disagree with are not just wrong, but evil scumbags.

5. Not growing out of being a school yard bully -- the need to find weak and marganizlied people to pick on just never ends.

4. Hating fags -- they made a bad choice, BVBL just didn't have a choice about who he hates.

3. Never bothering with facts -- if BVBL thinks it is true, it is true, and never admit you make a mistake, only girlie boys do that.

2. Finding scapegoats -- problems are not difficult and complex things, just bad things caused by evil people, just find some evil people to blame.

1. Hating immigrants -- you can be a racist and get away with it as long as you make include a reference to the immigrants being ILLEGAL in your rant about their music, langauge, crime, and general badness.

I believe PWC, Manassas Park and the city of Manassas have problems with illegal immigration. I believe that because the residents of those areas say they have a problem with illegal immigration. However, I don't live there and don't see a good reason to interfere with your politics. I assume that you know better than I what should be done in those areas to combat the problem. I wish that you guys would show the same respect, in return, to the residents of Fairfax County. We have something of a problem with illegal immigration but it is not nearly as severe as the descriptions of the problem I read on this site. Therefore, we don't need anything like the drastic measures HSM proposes.

I go to Gainseville and Manassas on a fairly regular basis. They both seem like fine places except for the traffic which pretty much stinks everywhere in NOVA. While I don't see the problems that are described on this site I believe they exist. But Fairfax is my county of residence. So, I don't tell the PWC people what to do in their county of residence.

In fact, if you have spare time to worry about Fairfax County -the overwhelming influence of developers and builders would be the subject I'd assign for comment, not illegal immigration. Look at www.vpap.org and see who is providing the campaign contributions to the Fairfax County BoS. If you have spare time, tell me how to choke off the strangle hold developers have on my county. Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal - it doesn't matter. They have been "bought and paid for" by the developers. And the politicians let the developers build and build and build without a second thought as to the congestion caused by all that building. Now that IS killing us.

However, I don’t live there and don’t see a good reason to interfere with your politics. I assume that you know better than I what should be done in those areas to combat the problem. I wish that you guys would show the same respect, in return, to the residents of Fairfax County. We have something of a problem with illegal immigration but it is not nearly as severe as the descriptions of the problem I read on this site. Therefore, we don’t need anything like the drastic measures HSM proposes.

I go to Gainseville and Manassas on a fairly regular basis. They both seem like fine places except for the traffic which pretty much stinks everywhere in NOVA. While I don’t see the problems that are described on this site I believe they exist. But Fairfax is my county of residence. So, I don’t tell the PWC people what to do in their county of residence.

In fact, if you have spare time to worry about Fairfax County -the overwhelming influence of developers and builders would be the subject I’d assign for comment, not illegal immigration. Look at www.vpap.org and see who is providing the campaign contributions to the Fairfax County BoS. If you have spare time, tell me how to choke off the strangle hold developers have on my county. Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal - it doesn’t matter. They have been “bought and paid for” by the developers. And the politicians let the developers build and build and build without a second thought as to the congestion caused by all that building. Now that IS killing us.

"I don’t know Corey Riley from the Man in the Moon.

However, I do know that people who can’t think logically need to stay out of Fairfax County politics"

Maybe you should come and find out more about Prince William politics and what makes the Prince Willam, Manassas Park & City of Manassas residents "tic"?

"If Corey Riley knows that some were legal, it would seem reasonable that he knew that some were not.".

Not really.

He may have known that some were legal while being unsure of the status of others.

If I tell you that some NFL players have brown hair that statement (in and of itself) does not imply that I know anything about the other NFL players.

A sample does not imply a census.

I don't know Corey Riley from the Man in the Moon.

I think it's clear that everyone here dislikes Mr. Riley for running against St. John, who drove the illegels from Gainsville.

ENOUGH already!!!!!!!

Stick with your efforts that are so sucessful and stop the nasty business. You don't need it to make a change and this just simply reflects badly on everyone that supports this blog.

He's simply not going to win so put your energy somewhere else. :)

Riley may know that some of his clients are illegals, but he -- like the officers of other charities dealing with them -- is not going to put anything in writing about it. The "we're not going to ask" gambit is a transparent trick to continue getting taxpayer funding while disregarding the law.

I think it is interesting that Riley kicked off his campaign in Woodbridge. He is so out of touch with the Gainesville district.

Mr. Riley said "The way the resolution came out, where it was crafted by individual groups...(and) dropped on the county board of supervisors in our community with no input from our police force, county budget officer or attorney's office - it makes me question the motivation behind this."

You know what Mr. Riley this resolution came from citizens like me and everyone else in the Gainesville district that is fed up with illegal aliens. By the way Mr. Riley our tax dollars go to pay our police force, county budget officer, attorney's office and the rest of them. They are suppose to answer to us the citizens. So Mr. Riley since when did the PWC government become something similiar to the communist party in your eyes. Mr. Riley you are out of touch with reality. Why don't you go run for office in Cuba where only Castro's family runs the government. Oh that's right you have to be related to him. You could marry one of his relatives.
