Help Save Manassas Meeting Wednesday
By Greg L | 28 August 2007 | Manassas Park, Manassas City, Prince William County | 50 Comments
Help Save Manassas has announced it will hold it’s next membership meeting this Wednesday at Stonewall Middle School at 7:30PM. With the recent membership growth, it’s clearly outgrown the Manassas City Council Chambers, which only can accommodate about 140 people. With over 1,400 members, a larger venue was clearly needed.
If you’re a member, there’s a lot going on right now, and this will be a great opportunity to stay informed about what’s happening with the illegal alien issue locally. If you’re curious about what Help Save Manassas is all about, this is a great way to find out what the organization is all about.
See you there.

Well Greg…where are we going to go after this meeting? We’ll be in the County.
Great American Steakhouse !!! For Great Americans!!!!!
There’s a Ruby Tuesday’s really close by, on 234. I’ll miss Okra’s, but sacrifices have to be made.
It’ll be too late for the Great American Steakhouse, ddp. Ruby Tuesday’s sound fine Greg, but I’ll miss Okra’s too!
This might be an opportune time to invite the local Hispanic businesses [ that are run by legals] and legal Hispanic residents to the meeting. This outreach will show that following the laws have merit and they are welome to PWC.
What time is the meeting?
7:30, or you can come at 7:00 when Open Discussions begin….
Have any of you read the “Our Opinion” section in the MJM this morning? They actually praised Manassas Park for doing nothing to crack down on illegal immigration!
What a bunch of morons!
Does any know where I can get a HSM bumper sticker? (sorry, I’m new to HSM)
Also, Help Save Manassas is mentioned several times in the article. They think we’re a “small band” of citizens. I think not!
newmember - Come to the meeting on Wednesday night - they may have some available at that time.
Ill be there…
Gotta be a better place than an off limits area to hold meetings. How about a library?
Do you know of a library meeting room that can accommodate more than 400 people? I don’t think there are any. As HSM grows, the number of venues for meetings diminish rapidly.
Someday soon Nissan Pavillion might be the only place in the area large enough for HSM meetings. Now wouldn’t THAT be something…
I would suggest for those of us in West Gate/Sudley that we WALK to the HSM meeting. I think it would be great to see our members walking to SMS. Remember, some of our neighbors will be at home, since they are boycotting.
Don’t forget your American flags from last meeting.
See everyone there, Ruby Tuesday’s sounds great!
newmember, I have an extra bumper sticker, I’ll have it with me. You can also get a HSM t-shirt there.
Greg L
What about MPHS? Since, they LOVE us in the Park-lol
“Gotta be a better place than an off limits area to hold meetings. How about a library?”
Speaking of libraries, did anyone see the MJM story about the rally at Chinn Park Library, which culminated in the protest (which the MJM referred to as vigil) at Sams, then Potamic Mills, then Red Robin, then finally the sidewalk near Red Robin (thanks Maureen!).

So here’s my question. Since Prince William County public Libraries are county run, and since PWC will begin denying services to illegals, does this mean that the library meeting rooms will be off limits to MSF in the future?
OMG I soooo wish I could be there, but my boys’ soccer team folded so I will be busy that night at tryouts!!! This morning in DC I saw someone with the Viva La’ Revolucion and the pic of Che on his shirt, it reminded me of the Viva La’ Revolucion shirt with REAGAN’S picture on it instead. We should do something like that and all wear the same shirt (unity, you know). I would say the Bonnie Blue, but that might offend - lol
I wonder if the van on the next block with Va plates reading
“ILLEGAL1″ will be at HSM meeting??-lol
Lafayette,
Don’t count on it but the California car got a visit from police today.
Saw two county trucks. I guess they are PCE. One drove by twice but didn’t check for the “trash” truck at 9700. I wonder if that will be reported as unfounded.
Patty,
The trash truck must have invisible wings on its tires. How does one truck that doesn’t run move around that much. I was cheering that it was gone Sat. evening. lafayette told me it had just had a ‘change of venue.’
Meanwhile, I am obsessing over 9616. That place needs to be condemned and turned into a vacant lot. Are there squatters in there? I know someone is going in and out. I also think there is monkey business with the electricity.
Dolph,
9616 is a scary place. I don’t know the history of that one.
One neighbor thought the truck was running on the weekend but haven’t been able to verify that. Unfortunatley I was gone. It is not very far from its new place so they could of pushed it there. After all they had to push it down Woodstock and that was a longer distance. By the way, you will notice they still put blocks behind the wheels. I guess they are afraid it might drift and hit the van with the interesting plates.
That truck should now be gone. I told a cop about it this morning, and he said he’d take a look.
Patty,
I was told that the owners died a number of years ago and that there are sons who are the heirs. Apparently the deed hasn’t been updated.
At any rate, Sat evening when I was checking on the winged truck, the door was open. Monday morning it wasn’t. Squatters? Ghosts?
This 9616 house is a public nuisance and a danger to the community, in my opinion.
That truck now magically has a tag on it. We’ll keep watching.
Watch for the fire to happen in that house next. Why don’t the police monitor this house?
Call NOVEC if you think they’re stealing electricity, NOVEC can cut the power drop at the pole. Only the most foolhardy would attempt to reconnect that.
Had to Say
I think the fire happened about 15 years ago. You should really see this place. Will bring pictures to HSM meeting. Please, find me.

LMAO - you are too funny, Lafayette
Lafayette,
The truck at 9700 does indeed have new plates. It happened between 1:30 pm and 2. Some of their buddies must of acquired the tags for them. I’d laugh if they only had one tag on the rear. Anyway, I believe it still is inoperable and it still has trash in the bed. It could not pass inspection as is. I sure would love to see the title transfer on this one.
John Light
Don’t think there’s NOT pictures of that van. The pictures will be at HSM meeting Wednesday.
Lafayette,
Perhaps King George is just a magical place. Doors that open and close on their own, dead trucks with beds of trash changing location, tags magically appearing, invisible violations that only the legal residents of the community can see……
Next thing you will be seeing unicorns over there.
Dolph
No unicorns yet, I think I did see a pig fly by though.-lol
Lafayette,
With chickens pecking at his hindquarters? ho ho ho
Lafayette & dolph:
This is really sad for you to have such violations and safety concerns. You really need to have hsm make this a priority to help you address these concerns.
No one should need to endure this.
mnasty,
It is pretty much everywhere in this area. Our Westgate/Sudley area is a lot better off than many neighborhoods. Maybe because the ever-vigilant Lafayette and Patty on all over this!
mnasty
FYI-All of the violations have been called into Zoning. I’m very active in HSM. I would be asking myself. I call on all violations, and pictures to back each and everyone of them. Right, now I’m waiting for follow up 20 violations.
Are there any violations, I can help you with?
Lafayette: You go!!!! Dolph and Lafayette are doing a bang up job on their end, especially keeping us informed and with Greg basically being the face of the movement, we are winning the war on the illegals with each passing day.
JL
Thanks for the compliment. It’s almost a full time job.
JL,
Lafayette is the workhorse. I am just the cheerleader…a little long in the tooth for a cheerleader but I do my best. Go Lafayette go!
Anon
Thanks, I just a call from PCe. One of the 20, is now a closed case. Violation no longer exists. I will have my pictures if you are at HSM tonight. Hope to see you there.
I went to last night’s meeting. It was my 2nd meeting, since I joined. I applaud the strong efforts or those in attendance, those in leadership, and those politicians that are willing to listen to our concerns. BUT, it’s disappointing that an organization with 1500 so-called members can draw so few people to a meeting. What’s wrong?
Plus, if you’re going to name someone as your lead on membership, it would be a good idea if she knew something about an annual event in Manassas that’s been going on for years (and draws many, many people and politicians) -the Fall Jubilee- instead of acting clueless when she reads the title of the event off a PowerPoint slide. Embarrassing. After all, this group is called “Help Save Manassas”!!
Lastly, can another location be chosen for the meeting? It’s scary driving to SMS, plus it’s a hell of a hike for those of us that live closer to Hoodbridge. Why not somewhere mid-county, like Benton?
Oh, one more thing: In the two meetings I’ve attended, the topic of what can be done about the schools issue in the county or city of Manassas has not been discussed. I could care less about crappy Manassas Park, and that seems to occupy the meeting minutes. That place has always been a *&$%@@!, and always will be.
Shawn
I don’t live in Manassas Park, but I cannot believe your arrogance. It is all our problem. Focus. Be supportive. Manassas Park’s problems are all our problems. They are just on the front lines.
Shawn
Get a grip!!!
You came from Hoodbridge right?
Please, tell me the difference. I’ve never frequented the “other end” of the county my whole life. Who do you think you are kidding. This coming from one of the county’s most concerned and devoted citizen.
The Park NEEDS to start helping themselves. Go meet Greg L Saturday, and help the ranks of HSM grow.

Shawn,
I guess Help Save Manassas needs to be in Manassas.
I agree that it is quite a trek from Woodbridge to Manassas. I am glad you were able to attend.
I am curious. Why did you find SMS scary? Was it the neighborhood? That neighborhood looks like a gated community compared to driving down Manassas Drive in Manassas Park. Shudder!!!
Dolph,
It is a gated community, you got Westgate & Irongate..you know my sense of humor
Happy Friday~
that was me Dolph-
redawn,
hahahahaha! Christians -1 Lions- 0 You got me on that one. Definitely a ‘gated’ community. Isn’t there a Sunnygate also? Maybe we need a Sudleygate also.
Dolph,
I knew you would like that
I have heard Irongate being referred to as the Gates of Hell.
NOW, that is a scarey place. Yes, there are other areas GTS Coverstone and even- Longview ( in HOODBRIDGE)
