Manassas City Joins In

By Greg L | 5 September 2007 | Illegal Aliens, Manassas City | 34 Comments

The Manassas City Council will discuss a proposal by Councilman Marc Aveni this evening about adopting some or all of the policies that were included in the July 10th resolution of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. If illegal aliens had the idea they might dodge the restrictions on taxpayer-funded services that will come into force in Prince William in the near future by asking Manassas City for them instead, it looks like that’s not going to work.

They’ll have to go to Manassas Park instead.

UPDATE: The Manassas Journal Messenger has more on this. They report that the city isn’t going to take immediate action, but “piggyback” onto the legislation developed in Prince William County in order to ensure a consistent approach.

I wish ALL the BEST, for Marc and the fine legal citizens of the City of Manassas. You have the support from those of us in Westgate/Sudley, we’re just a few minutes walk to both cities. I guess we’ll only have to worry about the Park.
City of Manassas WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!

    Lafayette,

The park will be surrounded with PWC and the City of Manassas and let’s not forget Help Save Fairfax. They will have to ask for an easement /visa (if you will-lol)to cross or get on board.

Man Allegedly Strangled by Deported Immigrant
    September 5, 2007 - 7:27pm
MANASSAS, Va. - A man faces murder charges after a fight turned deadly Sunday in Prince William County. Police say Christian Molina, 30, was here illegally and had been deported twice from the U.S. this decade.
On Sunday night, police were called to a home on Dumfries Road in Manassas after two men got into a fight. Police say Molina allegedly choked 51-year-old Ronald Hollingsworth.

Another man called 911 when he realized Hollingsworth was not moving.

Erika Hernandez with Prince William County Police says Molina was here illegally and is being held without bond.

He had been deported back in 2003 and again in 2005. The second time because of a lack of legal status combined with criminal activity.

He’ll be in court again next month.

When some one commits a crime of murder like that in PWC or anywhere in the US, instead of deporting them, you need to try them and execute them under existing US law for murder.

Why was this not re[prted by the MJM?

[Ed note: it’ll be in tomorrow’s edition. They didn’t find out about it until this morning, at best. I don’t have to wait for paper to be printed and delivered.]

The other option is for the country of origin to extradite them and try them for murder there, but that will never happen. An American citizen’s life is meaningless to an ethnic group that only advocates for special laws and priviliges for its own ethnic group, like laws that help them escape murder because of which ethnic group they belong to. It is unbelievable that this guy gets back into the nation twice. This is why ALL people “legally” in the US need to carry identification BY LAW clearly indicating their right to be in this country, and ALL people not entitled and possesing this ID be deported when ask to show Identification. Those who commit crimes should be jailed and punished so they are taken out of our society in orfer to protect us, no matter what the cost. We could even privatize these detention centers or long term prisions in other countries more cheaply and affordably to public officials in other countries with legal prison programs willing to accept US dollars for a public safety service. There is no way this guy could be here this long if we had this US legal status ID carried or stamped on our driver’s license and surrendered as an official document on ANY public transaction. Our national political leaders are letting our country go down the toilet. It is up to the citizens of our community to enforce our own laws, just like the great founding leaders of our past did to murdering British groups and British individuals who only cared about Great Britain.

    just news,

Thanks for sharing ” The News” because the MJM does not print the news until after the fact OF OTHERS HAVING TO DO THEIR JOB. ( then it seems they report by jumping on the band wagon like they have been caught with their pants down)

I have been a reader of BVBL since early April, I find out more on this website about what is going on in this area from here and I LIVE HERE!

MY first job back in the early 80’s was delivering papers for the MJM to boot!~
Since April and reading BVBL, I have shed TEARS over finding out about Carlos Angelos- his murder by illegal MS-13 gang members, WE have another victim murdered by another illegal alien that was arrested and let go onhis own in MP for having false id’s etc. only to commit a murder see the thread : Another Grisly Murder on this site. We have seen the connection of the Newark, NJ murders and one of thesuspect arrested in Woodbridge….ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

If convicted, he will be tried here and serve jail time here –
AFTER that he will NOT be released in the US, but deported
    to his country of origin.

Folks, don’t think for a moment that these people’s native
countries will lock them up for crimes in the US. Simply
doesn’t happen 99% of the time.

To deport someone home before they served their time
is to set them free at once.

If the perp comes back after ICE deportation, be is
subject to major Federal time - in the USA.

I believe in a DIRECT THREAT from the Mexcian President claiming there are no borders, Mexicans without Borders ( Mexicanos sin Fronteras),
Jurastictions (within their OWN borders), not doing anything about illegal aliens and the THREAT they impose.
What BORDERS ARE WE FIGHTING FOR? right or wrong? Good or evil? Truth or lies? LIFE OR DEATH?

You are so right and I am a bleeding heart of the victims-borders or not but I do see the light and you best better bet that if it happens to my family or my friends, that would be all she wrote. If it continues as it is, IT IS ALREADY UNJUST and if it happens , the question I would have to propose, would it be just by letting what is going on in our system to take care of it and be just?

I am pleased to see this will be on the agenda here in Manassas. Always wondered why “Wonder Boy Aveni” had to join HSM since he was a City Councilor. I mean, if you can’t do something as a city counilor, you really are an enuch and have to join a group like HSM to get something done, well, it should be an interesting City Council meeting.

I for one, am tired of the johnny come latelys like Aveni and Miller who have been invited REPEATEDLY to come see this immigration firsthand. As I have stated before, I live next to the pushcart vendor for 3 years and all I got was SILENCE FROM AVENI AND MILLER when on council.

I have asked Miller to come out, but of course, only silence. So I welcome hearing from Aveni and any other citizen from Manassas who about this problem. M

My question is simple…WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THESE YEARS AND WHY AREN’T YOU REPSONSIVE ABOUT MY NEIGHBORHOOD???

BTW, Rishell has been around here , last year and this year but nooooooo Miller. So, it is very clear which candidate cares about the immigration problem on the ground (as they would say about Iraq).

Platitudes are fine, but if you are not at GROUND ZERO, even when invited, seems you have little credibilty with those of us who live with it every day.

Just because Rishell can afford to campaign full-time, and Jackson Miller still has a family to feed, shouldn’t be taken as any indication that Miller cares less about this issue.

Jackson Miller, even when he was a city councilman, was way ahead of the curve on the illegal alien problem before many of us, myself included, grasped the scope of this problem. Rishell opposed Miller’s proposals to work on the overcrowding issue and participation in the Section 287(g) Program. Miller wants to ensure taxpayer dollars given to charities aren’t used to support illegals, while Rishell opposes that plan.

In response, Rishell wants to crack down on employers (which is largely pre-empted by federal law) which she KNOWS cannot be done, and wants to establish a livability court to handle all the zoning cases that localities bring to the courts, while there’s no evidence that there’s a backlog in processing those cases. Her previous fundraising for Mexicans Without Borders definitely indicates where her loyalties lie, and it’s not with those of us who want to and currently are working this issue.

Regarding Jackson Miller and illegal aliens:

HSM was started as a direct result of information supplied by Jackson’s office in Richmond earlier this year. Jackson has been a strong supporter against illegal aliens and related criminal activity, having recognized the problem and having been very outspoken about it while others sat at home watching the evening news and drinking their Heinees.
There was no one saying much about this issue in public before Jackson took his politically unpopular position against the illegal presence.

I urge all reading this to do your homework on this issue; you can ONLY find that what I say is true.

The PWC resolution would not have come if it were not for the events that lead up to it, including especially the formation of the citizens’ organization known as Help Save Manassas!

I applaud Jackson Miller for what he has done, and I applaud and support Marc Aveni and others for continuing the efforts to save America.

    dolph,

SYP’s logic is that because “Michael” attributed the problem to an ethnic group (9:18pm post) SYP assumes that the rest of BVBL’s readers feel the same way. I’m sure it would make SYP happy if we all agreed with Michael, because it would make it easier for SYP to continue seeing other people’s problems and ignoring his/her own.

SYP, the fact of the matter is anybody who is on board with the HSM message is passionate about embracing legal immigration. You can’t take one bad sentence from a single post on BVBL and use that to change the truth. If it were that easy, trolls like yourself would have already destroyed the good progress that continues to be made.

It is you who is the “Johnny Come Lately” here. Jackson Miller has ben working on this issue, ever since he was elected to Manassas City Council. So has Marc Aveni. So you were living next to a pushcart vendor, for 3 years. Why didn’t you carry your lazy ass down to City Hall, and do a little research. You might have found that it was illegal to peddle in Manassas.

I am also going to call you a LIAR. There were no visible pushcarts in Manassas 3 years ago. The problem started less than a year ago. No licenses had been issued during the time you claim there was a problem. Liar, Liar, Liar

Admit it T-Bone. You are just a frustrated Rishell supporter, who is doing a piss-poor job of trying to steer the debate. Your little plug for Rishell gives you away. Rishell actually raised money for Mexicanos Sin Fronteras, and it wasn’t for bus tickets to send illegals back to the border. She opposed every action that Manassas City Council , including the over-crowding ordinances, the over-crowding task force, and the 287g program.

T-bone, you lie like a rug, just like your candidate.

Glad to see City Council potentially joining in and not fearing another liberal law suit. Thank you Marc for proudling filling in where Jackson left off! The quality of live (residential overcrowding, schools, indigant medical costs, crime, etc) has suffered for far too long in our City. I personally love some of the recent discussion from Loudon; employ illegal aliens and forfeit government contracts, building permits get rescinded, business license licenses revoked, etc…
Will the City be strong enough to go after the source of the evil; those illegally employing illegal aliens? The Mayor and three Councilman are up for election next spring. This will be an interesting discussion to follow. Hopefully it will result in legislation that can be enforced and acted on by City police, building officials, etc.
