The Agitator Slams Manassas Park

Radley Balko of The Agitator follows up on last evening’s post about Manassas Park’s coverup of child pornography with his own exhaustive post that walks readers through this disturbing and sordid tale. Of all of the insanity happening in Manassas Park, would any of us have believed this was going on?
also, there was one night that you weren’t there, that the vice mayor was there. We had three girls stripping, and I’m going to tell you, Dave, it was no Mardis Gras. And the vice mayor was taking pictures of three girls who I can pretty much figure is…if I see them again. One girl was sixteen years old, stark naked. When Rob found out, he told ‘em, “Put your clothes on.” And he kicked all three of them out. But the vice mayor was sitting up there enjoying himself, taking pictures with his own personal digital camera while this sixteen year old girl stripped naked, taking dollar bills. And this happened on the stage.

It now appears that then-Vice Mayor, former GOP chairman, and part-time DJ Kevin Brendel was not only permitting women to expose themselves at David Ruttenberg’s club without David Ruttenberg’s permission, he was encouraging it. In fact, as I’ll lay out in a moment, there now ample evidence that Mr. Brendel was not only encouraging such behavior while working at Rack ‘n’ Roll, he was photographing it for his personal collection. Not only that, he was also soliciting and sometimes paying young women to come home with him for more explicit photo sessions.
Evidence of a crime against children involving the then Vice Mayor of Manassas was covered up by the City of Manassas Park. How soon will it be before we can start talking about recalls of elected officials in this jurisdiction? All it’s going to take is some evidence that mayor Frank Jones was complicit in all of this, and we’ve got everything we need, unless the FBI wants to step in here first and take over.
They really might want to consider doing that.

So this is what caused Jim Rich to dissolve the Mannassas Park Republican Committee! I heard it was something to do with child pornography, but who would have guessed it would tie right back into Rack & Roll. This is absolutely mind blowing. WHAT IN THE HELL IS THE COMMONWEALTHS ATTORNEY DOING ABOUT IT?
The FBI needs to take this over sine the locals seem to be abdicating their responsibility and the state is seemingly powerless. As I stated in the post below, it is time for an Independent Prosecutor at the State AG level to deal with these kinds of politically charged cases.
The FBI has done this in Loudoun County since the CA there turned a blind eye to all the corruption going on. You locals need to start feeding the feds info and demanding federal intervention since your local government has decided to do nothing.

A bigger question: Where the Hell has the MJM been? Or the WaPo? It’s not like there hasn’t been a lead or two to follow up. This is local Woodward and Bernstein stuff!

Look out Manassas Park!
Alex Granados is no longer reporting on Manassas and Manassas Park. I think he went to the editorial page or someting. Kipp Hanley is the new local reporter. And neither wrote the cat story - that was Keith Walker, if I remember correctly.

I can appreciate your quest for accuracy, however, the Editors of the paper control what stories get pursued, and which ones get run. They are the “generals” so to speak, laying out the overall strategy. This means Alex and Susan. If Kipp comes to them and says “Hey, something bad is going on in Manassas Park” Alex and Susan are the ones who decide if the story gets developed, or not.
So, when someone came and said “Two cats were dumped at the shelter, and the owners changed their minds, but were too late…” It was the editors who decided “Stop the presses…we lead with the dead cat story”. or ‘Homelss Joe lost his dog”…they decided “Front page…above the fold.”
Make no mistake. The editors control the paper. In this case, the editors are running that paper into the ground.
Kevin Brendel should not be allowed to be on any future commitees, commisions, city government and have absolutely no connection or contact with any children in this area or any part of the world. How Pathetic!
Verrry interesting–Google has removed the other page from their index(”last evening’s post”).
Brendel? Are you trying to save what’s left of your reputation by asking Google to remove it from the index?
