The HRC Circus Continues
By Greg L | 13 September 2007 | Zapatistas, Prince William County | 18 Comments
The actions of Mexicans Without Borders continue to get ever more bizarre. Tonight’s meeting of the Prince William County Human Rights Commission’s “Committee on Immigration” (originally named the “Stirrup Resolution Committee”) had Mexicans Without Borders come and present their litany of complaints, none of which are germane to the purposes of the Commission or helpful in ensuring the protection of Human Rights in Prince William County. Tonight featured strange allegations that Help Save Manassas was stealing the property of Mexicans Without Borders, and a disclosure that Mexicans Without Borders has opened a dialog with the Ku Klux Klan. You just can’t make this stuff up.
John Steinbach took issue with the press conference Help Save Manassas held with members of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors the day after their failure of a rally. When the participants at the press conference arrived at the plaza behind the McCoart building, there was a stage in the way of where we wanted to be, and a podium had been left behind. We made use of the podium, as it saved us the trouble of hauling one out of the McCoart Building, and I think some folks sat on the stage during the press conference. At tonight’s meeting, John Stenback started shouting “they stole it” in reference to what happened, as if Help Save Manassas and a collection of elected officials had somehow decided to cart off this unsecured property, and thought that the purpose of the Immigration Committee was to adjudicate complaints of theft. Nice way to make yourself look rational, Mr. Steinbach.
The best part of the evening was when Teresita Jacincto told the HRC that she had contacted the Ku Klux Klan in order to determine what their position was on the recent resolution passed in Prince William County and what groups they might agree with or not agree with. That’s an interesting idea — reach out to the KKK in order to more fully understand what their positions are. Why would anyone be interested in talking to these nutbags? Are they going to start contacting Mexican Drug cartels next to see what their position on immigration policy is? Or the Shining Path guerrillas in Peru?
The desperation here is pretty telling. They’re losing the debate badly, and now they want to talk to the Klan. Meanwhile, the Human Rights Commission is getting testimony about the legislative agenda of the Ku Klux Klan from Mexicans Without Borders. Yeah, that’ll help the cause of Human Rights in Prince William County.
To make the circus going on here even more surreal, a representative from Tenants and Worker United later told the committee that all public hearings held by the Prince William Government should have translators, all government documents should be published in a wide array of languages, and all schools should be required to hire bilingual personnel — presumably only those who are bilingual in Spanish and English. I’m sure that information will help the Human Rights Commission understand how the implementation of the county’s policies will be done in a fair and equitable manner. What is this, goofy time?
This is completely out of control. The Human Rights Commission is losing their credibility here, and as long as they allow this goofiness to continue they irreparably damage their ability to do an important job in the county.

I was there again tonight. I think it’s time we make English the official language of PWC. These groups never quit with their same ole BULL!!! Thank goodness, they only have one more meeting.
Interesting that the only contact with the KKK among the folks involved in this issue was perpetrated by the Mexicans Without Borders. Sounds like they are encouraging those folks to come into PWC…and I believe it would be appropriate for HSM to file a complaint with the so-called Human Rights Commission. I mean, REALLY, practically inviting a violent, racist group such as that to come up with an agenda for Prince William County is tantamount to an invitation. How ’bout it HSM…file a complaint!
On top of everything else, the Human Right Commission sub-committee has six members. The last four meetings not everyone has been there. They NEVER start on time because Carlos Lambiosa and Phyllis Aggrey are the only ones there at 7:30. Other members come strolling in 10 to 15 minutes late. That’s if they decide to show up at all. They are showing an annoying lack of interest here. If they agree’d to be on this committee why don’t they show up to the meetings? Maybe they are tired of hearing the same old crap every time.
We definitely need to declare English as our official language. If we don’t we will end up being sued by someone because we don’t have all our forms translated into some obscure language and it will be argued that we discriminate against them. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.
It’s pretty funny how we are the ones being call racists and xenophobes. I ALWAYS hear the opposition name calling, and yet they call us full of hatred. Who’s expressing HATRED here?
Teresita, spoke with who??? She also, stated the resolution was close to ethnic cleansing!!!
When the KKK showed up in Manassas, my husband suggested that perhaps the invitation the KKK said they received came from MSN or someone sympathetic to them, in order to gain sympathy for their side. Now that we know that Teresita Jacincto has admitted that she’s been in communication with the KKK, it is looking more and more likely that the KKK showing up during the boycott was the work of an agent provocateur. I’ll have to tell hubby he was right–something I don;t like to do, but fortunately don’t have to do very often ; )
Lafayette, I’m with you 100%. If Spotsylvania can make English the official language why can’t Prince William County.
Lafayette, can you help look out for my area while I’m gone?
I think her reasoning for contacting the KKK was not so much support as it was to connect HSM with that hate group. She feels that if they believe in ONE THING that HSM also believes in, she can find that link “proving” something that does not exist, that HSM is an arm of the KKK.
Patty
Yes, I will. Stop by. We had pit bull biting on Strasburg yesterday and one car towed away from the end of good ole Lafayette.
So, will you be teaching any foriegn languages as part of your home schooling?-lol
CJC said: Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.
I think it’s more like this: Give them an inch, and they’ll take a trip!!!

Found this today. This is what is happening in our country. The only way to get a job is if you speak Spanish! In our own country!!!! This must be stopped.

“Bilingual English/Spanish speakers are currently needed for this open position. The candidate must speak both English and Spanish–not one or the other.” You gotta love that quote! So let me get this straight…in America…in order to get a job…you now have to speak Spanish (a requirement).
Patriot,
I am extremely worried about this (bi-lingual job applicants). We are bending over backwards to make sure the illegals get up to speed in speaking English. But, what about our own English speaking children?? They are in for some rough times in future job markets.
This is why we must STOP bi-lingual programs! English should be the official language for carrying on business in America. If we don’t do this…these ads will become common place!

Quick question…according to the above link…NCLR is tax-exempt! How can this be if they conduct political activities? Greg, any thoughts?
The HRC is just looking for ammunition. That is why if you argue only along the lines that we have been, i.e that “illegal” immigrants are breaking the law and we want the law enforced, and you do NOT align your argument, debate, statement along racial, gender, ethnic, religios group lines they have no case against you.
If they are doing thier job correctly, they should be taking exception with the MSF and pointing out in a report that the real human rights violations are coming from these ethnic aligned hate groups like MSF and should act against them if they have any sense of morality, legal obligation or understanding of the 14th amendment. It is we who are actiing as citizens trying to prevent these hate groups from operating, who are having human rights violations along racial, ethnic, gender, religious lines committed on us. If the HRC committee has half a brain they will see the SUPREMACY violation of human individual rights is being perpetrated by MSF and other ethnic, racial, gender and religious aligned political hate groups on the citizens of PWC.
Patriot, on the bilingual issue,
Anybody who applies for that job, if rejected on those language requirements can SUE the owners. Another example of blatant disregard for “equal protection under the law” and the 14th amendment. I would take them to court in a heartbeat.
Michael, it would be interesting to see how that would actually pan out with today’s liberal judges!
