Anonymous, you DON't appoint and select people based on religion, ethnic group, gender or race. That is the whole point of the 14th amendment to be Racial, Gender, Ethnic group, and religious group BLIND. Put the portfolios in the pot with no pictures, and select based on accountability and ability, and a clear ethical past. Why people think that having everything racially, ethnically, gender and re;ligious group BALANCED is going to solve issues and debate/discuss FAIRLY on the solution better than a panel of just really smart people of BLIND selection, is beyond me and its beyond the intellectual intent of the founding fathers.
Plain and simple the problem with the "Racial Balancing Approach" is that almost ALL people aligned that way by the groups they join only look out for their race, gender, ethnic group or religios group on these social panels and committees. They polarize eveything into a racial, ethnic group, religious group PREFERENCE solution. Thats what's so wrong with thinking that way. Thats why this lunatic needed to be removed, and there is no reason to search for another Muslim. Why not just a smarter person? The criteria for selection needs to be individual wisdom, a just, balanced and fair brain on the individual appointed, that is appointed for his or her SKILL, EDUCATION, WISDOM, MODERATION and LEVEL-HEADEDNESS. Being a radical gender, racial, ethnic group, religious group aligned extremist should ALWAYS disqualify you from these panels.

Tim McVeigh had a lot of help from Muslims. Oklahoma reporter Jayna Davis investigated this but she was silenced. Why was McVeigh executed so quickly? There are a lot of answered questions about McVeigh's Muslim connection.

"I’m sure the spokesman is out of pre-school, therefore, he should have a bit of brain power(though he is a liberal…) "

It depends...whether it was private preschool or Kaine's universal tax payer funded preschool? If it is the latter, I would say this brain power is probably very limited.

The other issue I found interesting is the reaction from the Timmy Kaine camp before he had to admit he appointed this guy to the commision. Del. C. Todd Gilbert (R) sent Timmy's camp a letter complaining about this guy, and Timmy's spokesman dismissed the letter as being xenophobic.

I'm sure the spokesman is out of pre-school, therefore, he should have a bit of brain power(though he is a liberal...) to use more an argument then name calling when defending an issue that simply cannot be defended in anyway.

The letter just suggested there were plenty of other Muslims to choose from other then this guy. Yet, that still did not stop Timmy's spokesman from using racist language.

Of course after Timmy accepted the resignation, the spokesman said it was a good decision, but of course did not apologize to Gilbert for running his name through the mud.

The larger point is of course often in this debate, liberals will immediately use names such as bigots or racist to describe anyone who might be against illegal aliens. For folks who love to proclaim themselves to be smarter then everybody else, I expect more then name calling in defense of their position.

Kaine missed the boat on not appointing Hugh Brien. Who knows the immigration process and what is happening on our borders better than Hugh. Maybe it was not Kaine's intention to get the best of the best for this commission (just look at the fellow that was just forced to resign.) Kaine didn't know of his background before he appointed him? Come on!!!!

Hopefully, the commission will be absolutely required to follow all U.S. and Virginia laws, codes, statutes, ordinances, etc, to the letter, before rendering any action or decision.

I kinda chuckled at this one...then I thought to myself that I hope that they do indeed follow U.S. and Virginia laws, codes, statutes, ordinances, etc, to the letter...in order to get the ball rolling on deportation and border strengthening.

Other than the fact that there are domestic terrorists, such as McVeigh, and Anonymous at 9:57 said most terrorist attacks on Americans have been by Muslims. I beg to differ.

Then back that up

That may be correct, although one could argue that Oklahoma City was a terrorist attack, and it was done by WASPs.

Nice try - but unsubstianted.

The FBI worked at lightning speed to bulldoze and destroy all evidence.

We will never know who was really behind that attack.

Unlike every other attack, this one was clearly identified, blamed and case closed in a very short order.

Unlike the muslims who have attacked us, McVeigh was indicted, convicted and killed very very quickly. The crime scene was very quickly erased. Just like Ruby Ridge.

This process is apparently totally unavailable to the FBI when it comes to muslims who have done worse.

any comments?

oh boy slippery slope time

I am assuming that most of the people who post/read here aren't Muslim so the majority of us have no clue what the religion actually stands for

Heres my theory about how to "solve this issue"

1. Educate ourselves about the muslim religion
2. Support moderates within the muslim community

as long as I'm here a parallel

1. Educate ourselves about immigration law
2. Support organizations and businesses that follow immigration law

In both situations, as long as there is an us vs them mentality noone wins.

There will be always be the 1% bad apple in both situations but the alternative is the status quo or an questionable campaign of trying to purge the community of an entire group of people

Also thats why we have laws (that need to be enforced) to take care of the 1% who cause the majority of strife and conflict

9:57pm. Do you mean all contemporary terrorist attacks against Americans? That may be correct, although one could argue that Oklahoma City was a terrorist attack, and it was done by WASPs.

I have a lot of friends who are Muslims and they would not hurt anyone. And did you know that the United Methodist Church has a coordinated effort with Muslims around the world to help with disaster response? They are working together to try to build a peaceful world, not one of hate.

The people who attacked us on 9/11 were radicals of the Islamic faith -- not mainstream believers.

Our next immigration wave will be middle eastern. All those folks who aided the Americans in this war are desperately trying to emigrate to the United States. Millions of people are refuges now. Consulates are being established in Syria right now to process the paper work faster. Stay tuned.
