Please tell me or others if Gloria Steinhan was a sexist or not, before you go ARGH!!!
By my accounting, she never represented rights of an individual other than the rights of her own gender. Does that not make her a sexist? If she had done it correctly she would have argued that all “individuals” deserve equal treatment, on both sides of the gender issues. Many of those issues on the other side of the gender fence have never been fought by the groups she represented (like who gets to raise children, who pays child support, who has a rights act and who does not, who is a protect class and who it not, who gets screwed in a divorce and who does not, who should pay for who for what, who is responsible for what, and defined by who, who should do what role based on size, strength, money, social bias and social name calling (jerk, cheapskate, bad parent, non-provider, deadbeat _, etc), who should get out of combat, who should have to die to save the other gender first, etc, etc) Gloria was a very lopsided activist, “a sexist” thus giving the modern rise to what was wrong with her approach and what is still debated as unfair advantage of one sex over another, defending the very reason why some think Jeanette is also a lopsided activist cut from the same mold.

One thing though, Miller has a full legislative cycle under his belt. He knows how things work. I think he will dominate the debate. Rishell will be on the defensive regarding her mailers, her positions on immigration, her past advocacy for pro-illegal alien groups, taxes, and her desire for universal pre-K. About the only thing Miller will have to defend is his vote on the transportation Bill, and it was Governor Kaine who pushed for the abusive driver fee’s to apply only to Virginians.

I am predicting that Rishell will be handed the first of many debate defeats. When you are proven to be a LIAR, it’s hard to establish any credibility on any issue.

Arrrggghhhhh! This is 2007. Please tell me this issue isn’t going to rear its ugly head. Being old and a feminist is perfectly ok by me. Let’s stick to the issues rather than sliding in not-so-subtle age and gender barbs.
