"We have lost our ambition, our imagination, and our willingness to do the things that built the Golden Gate Bridge" - Barack Obama (aka President Malaise)
Brian’s Big Boo-Boo

Here is a printout of the online donations page of Brian Moran’s campaign website from January 23rd of this year. If you like Brian a lot, you can contribute to his campaign fund and help him in the upcoming elections, and a lot of candidates have these pages on their websites, or some equivalent way of accepting donations. There’s only one problem here. On January 23rd, the House of Delegates was in session, and according to Virginia’s campaign finance laws (VA Code Section 24.2-954 specifically), elected officials are not allowed to solicit campaign contributions while they’re in session. Oops.
This happened from at least January 10th to January 23rd. Not good, Mr. Moran.

So what. Who is going to do anything. The madam? The most transparent congress in history?
The same ethics people who are supporting Jefferson?
This is where actions have consequences.
The actions of the right. When gop members REFUSE to stand shoulder to shoulder and shun Foley, Craig, and Cunningham - they lose ALL moral authority. They are just more members of the same corrupt, sickening bunch of criminal degenerates.
Whats a little mistake like soliciting funds during session compared to trolling in a men’s bathroom? Or soliciting underage same sex pages?
Or publishing a list of costs for bribes?
The right has severed the branch on which they sit.
Well, at least the folks on the right have the decency to resign. Unlike the folks on the left like oh say Barney frank, William Jefferson, Alcee Hastings, just to mention a few. These scumbags are still in office!!
You mean like Craig?
The reasons the others resign is to protect their pensions.
You are missing the point.
The point is the moral majority needs an injection of testosterone from Hillary.
The point is there apparently is no action so depraved that the right will not join together and condemn.
That is very, very telling.
Ah, I think it’s against the law, like “illegal”, to solicit funds during a session of the General Assembly. But maybe he needs the funds to travel all around the state and tell lies about republicans…
Greg, what has to happen to have charges brought against this blow hard…
So a blurry scan of a page allegedly printed on January 23 (but only brought to light on October 3, nearly 10 months later) is supposed to condemn a campaign.
Anonymous (2:49pm): for charges to be brought, there needs to be tangible evidence. I don’t really know how well a fuzzy scan of a printout is going to stand up in court. It’s pretty easy to change the date on a computer (and the date printed comes from the local computer’s clock, not the servers). It’s also easy enough to “Photoshop” a date on a document like this.
Needless to say, once again this is grasping at straws looking for a reason to slam a Democrat.
Looking for a reason to slam a Democrat? You don’t have to look very far! Just take a look at some of their crop from this year: Day who is calling for open borders, Rishell defending illegality, Hillary calling for amnesty, and Obama refusing to wear a flag lapel pin! What a bunch of jokers.
Nice attempt to spin this, blue. Since when have Democrats been supposedly exempted from complying with campaign finance laws?
That will make an interesting campaign slogan; “Vote Democrat: where the law is for those little people, not us!”
I’m not saying he shouldn’t be punished if he broke the law, but a fuzzy print out 10 months after the fact on the eve of the election seems a little too convenient. Why wasn’t a complaint filed back in January when the offense took place?
His “big” brother will take care of it. He has had some experience with money problems while in congress.
By the way…….The judge turned down Craig’s efforts to change his guilty plea. The judge said more or less that Craig was a big boy and knew what he was doing and was not forced into making a plea. Wanna bet he still will not resign?
He will not.
And the spineless, feckless GOP does not have the balls to censure him.
Pretty disgusting.

Better check today’s news. Craig refused to resign as he said he would and the pubs cancelled a meeting so they wouldn’t have to face the press about him.
If Brian Moran thinks he’s going to get a free ride on his ethical lapses like his big brother always has, he’s going to have a very rude awakening.
Give me a break… that the webform was on Brian’s website doesn’t imply that he was accepting contributions or that the site was enabled to process credit cards. There’s neither fire nor smoke here. C’mon.
You don’t have to accept a donation. A request, and this was one (as interpreted by the law) IS a violation…
