Rep. Jo Ann Davis, RIP

By Greg L | 6 October 2007 | US Congress | 3 Comments

Virgina Rep. Jo Ann Davis succumbed in her battle with breast cancer today and passed away at the age of 57, according to the Virginia Pilot. I know that this is going to encourage a lot of political speculation, but I’d hope we can hold off on this until after her funeral.

Jo Ann Davis represented the First Congressional District since 2000, after serving four terms in the Virginia House of Delegates. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, and rumors swirled around political circles for more than a year that her battle with cancer was not going well. Fortunately, this subject was never broached on the blogosphere, which decided to leave this as a private matter.

Indeed; she was one of the “good” ones who fought the brave battle.

October is National Breast Cancer Awarenes Month. Wear a pink ribbon, or purchase something with the pink ribbon during the month of October. Remind the women in your family to have annual mamogram, and men also get breast cancer. That’s a fact that is rarely mentioned, but it is important.
