Shawn O’Donnell Shows Some Class

By Greg L | 7 October 2007 | 31st HOD District, Virginia Politics | 6 Comments

William Day’s campaign manager Shawn O’Donnell has made a statement on the passing of Jo Ann Davis (who he ran aganst in her last campaign) and decided that even though Jo Ann isn’t laid to rest yet, it’s time to crank up the partisan ratchet:

Ms. Davis’ passing is sad and a tragic reminder that work is still needed in finding a cure for cancer and other diseases that continue to unnecessarily cost human lives. Unfortunately, earlier this year President Bush proposed cutting funding for cancer research by $40 million and cutting government funds for other major health programs and services by hundreds of millions of dollars hurting countless Americans.

The reaction of Ben Tribbet is both measured and appropriate:

With that, Shawn O’Donnell has disqualified himself from any consideration for the Democratic nomination in the upcoming special election.

I couldn’t agree more, but someone should be questioning William Day about his association with someone who can act so deplorably.

What a completely horrible comment. This guy must have absolutely NO class! It takes a sick person to make a death of a beloved Congresswomen political.

Isn’t this guy advising Bill Day, Jeanette Rishell, Carlos Del Toro, and other left-wing nut cases?

Good grief. O’Donnell’s comments might best be described as abominable, awful, bad, filthy, foul, horrible, loathsome, nasty, nauseating, noisome, obnoxious, offensive, repellent, repugnant, repulsive, revolting, shocking, sickening; bland, flat, flavorless, insipid, savorless, tasteless…just like he advises people to be politically…

That O’Donnell statement demonstrates in one stroke EVERYTHING that is wrong with politics…..and shows that some really rotten human beings are messing around in the political arena.

I had fallen out of contact with Jo Ann since she had gone on to Washington, but I was very close to her while she served in Richmond. She was an amazing human being and she did such a great job not only for her constituents, but being a full-time mother and self-made businesswoman as well.

I’m sure there was a very special place in heaven reserved for her.

Obviously O’Donnell thinks that Jo Ann Davis died just to give him a chance to push his political agenda. My, how obliging of her!

This is the adviser to the local dems folks. This is the guy whose opinions and advice they respect.

Unless things have changed dramatically in the past year since I’ve been out of Democratic politics; O’Donnell was always considered a bit of a joke. He is extremely self-serving, wouldn’t lift a finger to help other Dems running for office in’05, surrounded himself with questionable advisors, campaigned terribly in ‘06, the list goes on. He is typical of the Move On far left crowd who have no place in Virginia.
